2xGTX980 are faster as 2 separate cards than as SLi
Brewnix replied to klem's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well I was under the impression if the game is not coded and optimized for SLi its a no go. I did a quick search on DCS and SLi and found this 4 pages on geforce.com forum about it. Most of it is about poeple asking for a SLi profile for DCS and then they talk about the game needing patched to make SLi work good. And something about "SLi Bits" I am a nobody to programming but thought it was relevant to the post. Maybe this could help a little. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/903615/sli/dcs-series-sli-/1/ Maybe ED has SLi is on the back burner when they get DCS 2.5 running? -
DSR basically gives you 3840x2160 resolution over your monitor that does not support 4k but resizes it to fit your monitor as long as your game supports higher rez. Basically making it 4k for that program, I am not sure how it works and I have not used it myself. So is the problem you can not select the higher res you want?

Hi, I was wondering what is your highest resolution goal for the 3 projectors? Are they consider one big screen like Nvidia surround? Or do you have 3 individual screens. I read the specs for the one projector states 1920x1080 so technically 3 screen you could run 5760x1080. I would believe the jaggies you are seeing in the trees would have to be the 3640x1024. If you up the setting in the Desktop then when you start DCS it should appear in DCS rez sections. If it doesn't you can manually type it in the box in DCS. Or manually adjust the config file.

How to prevent Oculus Home from running with Steam VR games
Brewnix replied to dburne's topic in Virtual Reality
Thanks! This is awesome. It always bugged me having two programs running at once when i didn't need the other. -
Ok thanks sounds like its already better performance. A solid 60fps and 30fps and a clearer picture sounds great. I guess next question when u get chance. How about viewing distant in game how far did you set that. Can you see farther then cv1?
-
Hi Pegon Thanks for the review! I was wondering. With the Pimax it processes the data different then the CV1. So to produce the picture if i read it right, it compresses the data from the card and then the headset decompresses the signal in to the 3d picture. Have you tried running a graphic card monitor program like MSI AfterBurner to see how much vid ram and gpu usage it uses? Just curious if the usage is the same? I have the CV1 right now but have been looking in to the Pimax for the reason I believe is the Pimax and Piplay software help take some of the load off the computer which might be a better solution for the flight sims. Thanks!

fitness88, The headset upscales the signal. Here's a link I found about how it works! http://forum.pimaxvr.com/t/the-instructions-about-resolution/551

Nice work!

Thanks for posting that pic! I am saving that in my MMjoy archive of pics! So looking at one of my Promicro boards i realized that those pins to the usb jack and pads before the resistors are very tiny.
-
Nice work they look awesome!
-
Yes, the limitations is how many pins you need for what functions. I used the Promicro cause its the pretty cheap to buy and it still does alot for axis and buttons. So that's why I place all my buttons on a shift register you pile all your buttons on to them and 5 wires back to the board which free up more pins for axis!
-
Yes that board is fine. Just for reference there is a link to github for MMjoy instructions it does show other supported boards. And various other instructions. https://github.com/MMjoy/mmjoy_en/wiki Shift registers are a IC chip you can place 8 buttons to one chip and only have 5 wires back to the promicro nice to consolidate wires especially in tight places.Plus shift registers can be chained together. and for Potentinometers 10k-50k will work. Plus when you start you project post in the MMjoy thread you will get alot of help there. Oh diodes are used in a button matrix. If you use SR you won't need diodes.

Hello rabidscoobie! For the promicro and the leonardo this porgram called MMjoy works really good does up to 8 axis 128 buttons and 6 encoders. Also utilizes Shift registers. Here's the link. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2558215 This thread has alot on redoing a F15 stick By Debolestis. Hes also designed a few PCB's for the Promicro and shift registers that might be what you are looking for. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138821 I have used mmjoy and the promicro in a rehab of a X55 and a small panel. EDIT-sorry I didn't see your second post about mmjoy was busy typing!

Glad it worked.

Glad to hear it.

Hello Epoch! i have used this technique from [FSF]Ian. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2133064&postcount=2 He has it in his discription below his name you might be able to use it. I have used the same trick for CMSC,CMSP and RWR. I believe as long as there is a CDU_init.lua its doable. Just have to place unique name Veiwporthandling.lua at bottom of init.lua. dofile(LockOn_Options.common_script_path.."ViewportHandling.lua") try_find_assigned_viewport("ED_A10C_CDU") and then in the moniter setup LUA type the name you used in the dofile like this ED_A10C_CDU Hope this helps.

i wonder what a flight sim would be like with VR and full motion?
Brewnix replied to steve2112's topic in Virtual Reality
I was fumbling thru youtube on moving flight sim ran across this video. I thought it might be a good addition to the thread. Might be totally unattainable but nice to dream! -
They do make life easier on running wires. You don't have to run as much. And it saves on pins on the promicro to use for other things. 5 wires to the promicro. Then you can consolidate the button wires to a shift register pcb.
-
Ok even with shift register it is still 6 encoder max.
-
@Goblin I thought I remembered once you said you were using a older version of mmjoy what version? So when using the shift register with encoders you still have to use the encoder section? you can't make the encoders function just as a button. I realized the way my PCB is set up I could implement the encoder to the SR and save on pins. I am curious when you get it going how you programmed it in MMjoy. Thanks!

LMS for VR is this something ED could implement?

:doh:Hey good catch I didn't even see the description. -

Ah interesting, I thought it was a money thing the reason they wouldn't invest in to Nvidia's stuff. -

Sorry for the double post in row! But has anyone seen this! This guy has figure out how to see his hands with the a green screen and a camera. -

Wonder what kind of price it would be if ED were to get a license to use Nvidia's proprietary rendering products? Maybe if the goal is not to high the community could help! Just a thought. -
Ok thanks! The first 32 special buttons makes sense since windows only see's 32.
