After making our Kiowa Coop campaign (need to finish the last mission. OH-58D MP/SP Campaign: Silent Thunder -- Mission 01: Prey [v1.01 - August 18, 2024]), we decided it was time to jump back into the Hornet and take the fight to Afghanistan. We have a tentative path to the campaign and the direction we are going with the content. As a group of guys whose primary hobby is DCS, we have always felt there is a lack of coop campaigns to play as a team. We decided to change that and make our own. Our talented developer has done everything from custom knee boards and a PDF briefing with images, to custom voice overs and triggers. We are trying to get the campaign as close to historically accurate for the 2010 time period in Afghanistan and what mission might have been. Each mission accommodates up to 3-4 players and is scaled based on how many players are actually playing. We wanted this to be a solo campaign if you have no friends to fly with, but it is intended for Coop. This first mission below was a night op. Reacclimating to using the ground radar and finding targets was a little challenging at first. It has been a while. We had to fly it twice to get it right. Kandy will have to correct me on this one, but I believe a second group was added to provide a target for the other players to locate. This really challenges you out the gate if you have not used the ground radar or GMT in a while. Night vision is equipped if you prefer to use it, but it is not so handy in this operation. SPOILER ALERT: If you have flown our Kiowa campaign and want the missions to be a surprise, do not watch the videos.

Been tracking your progress from the start team. Cannot wait for this big, beautiful girl to be brought to DCS. It should be a massive honor to bring the first Large bomber to the crowd. Saw the video below and thought I would share. Awesome flyby of the Lancaster. Looks recent to.

Finally getting back after it. Feels good to be back in the cockpit again.

Afternoon team! Looks like the ITJ boys are finally back to flying. We look forward to flying ITJ a little more here soon. Getting back into the rhythm. The Hornet has called us back to the nest so do not be surprised if you see some F-18 videos popping up a little more than ITJ right now. @ViolentNomadWaiting on the Cobra brother!!!!!! Cannot wait to get her into the jungle. Hope everything is moving along well with its production. We will also be keeping our eye on the upcoming F-104 and F-100 to add. More to come down the line, but its good to be back flying again in DCS.

Will there be any updates to Nedava ?
Devil 505 replied to Raviar's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Trying not to kick the hornets nest hear so pulling in the experts, but I thought WAGS mentioned recently the NTTR map was in the pipeline for a future update, just no details or time frame yet. Can anyone from ED confirm this so I am not spreading false hope. Pretty sure I heard that though in one of the many ED interviews I watched. @Wags @BIGNEWY @NineLine If I am not imaging this, could you possibly expand on what might be considered for the expansion. -

Really glad to see this still being supported! Thanks team -
Damn good to have you back Kandy!!!!!!!

Thought I would reignite this old flame. With Afghanistan being out, it would be really nice to have a third party make some FPS modules to include fire teams and modular building we could place on the map and enter for CQC. Along with allied FPS modules you could have Insurgent packs with different load outs and outfits. I will keep fanning this flame. I hope a third party makes a run at working with ED on something like this. I would love to see something similar to the likes of Ground Branch. That is what I used in this video.

Gents, Hate to say it, but ITJ will be on hold for a bit until. Life has intervened. We plan to continue supporting and building it for sure into the future but had to step away to take care of personal matters. I to have been very busy with work. Current real-world events have kept me busy at work and continue to do so. I just want those to know who enjoy flying ITJ, it is not abandoned and the time we must step away will only have us that much more fired up when we return. Hopefully we will see ViolentNomads Cobra along with the Official F-104 and F-100 this year. More to come.

Another good video from the boys at Luke. This may be an FMS customers footage. I thought I saw Denmark markings on the Wing mans aircraft. Also another good video that was just released. These guys do some insane cockpit work for simulators if you have the cash flow. Available to the public at a pretty penny. If I remember correctly, they have a Hornet, Viper, Eurofighter, and I think they were working and Apache. F-16, F-35, F-18 and other combat fighter jet simulator cockpits | VIPER WING. I always thought it would be amazing to set up a company to the public and charge by the hour to come in a fly in the simulator using DCS and projectors. Use these and the applicable DCS modules. Use to be a place when I was a kid here in Texas that did this with real cockpits from several jets. Of course the flight sim was nothing like DCS, but just sitting in the cockpit and flying a sim that way as a kid was something you wont forget.

Above someone asked if my video was the Standalone version and you said no it was not, it was the FC3 version. That was false. My video was the standalone version I was flying. Not throwing fists, just clarifying.
-
False. This is the standalone. VSN has had me testing it for him ahead of release. Here is a video I shot today with his latest test version. He will provide a release date when its ready, but I feel like it is getting close to the finish line.

I 100% agree regarding OPSEC EchoOneOne, we are absolutely on the same page. This project is proceeding regardless of those concerns. What I do not want this thread to turn into is another Sierra show about how ED sucks for making the F-35. We (largely including myself about the HMDS and getting a thread shut down) have strongly conveyed our concerns about OPSEC, accuracy, and their actual ability to gather real data on the F-35. They heard us loud and clear and know our thoughts and opinions, trust me, this I know. The best we can do is respect the fact ED is giving this their best run at it and assist by providing solid reference material when it pops up. My goal with the two videos above is to assist them in modeling the 3D HMDS, pilot suit, O2 mask, ect... with an accurate frame of reference. In my professional opinion, they are not going to be able to get remotely close to the real thing in person without some hefty hookups from a PR perspective. Below is the closest I have seen the media get to doing a piece on the HMDS. I know where this was shot and I was surprised to see this was put out there. This was approved by Lockheed Martin. They actually allowed the chick doing the interview to put the HMDS on and a G-Suit. Point is, there is enough out there at this point for a visually stunning model, but it will never perform like Jenna Jameson. LOL.

@Wags @NineLine @BIGNEWY Saw these few videos released by the USAF and thought they would be beneficial to the project. They are legit and sanctioned by the USAF at the end of the video. Great reference footage for how the HMDS needs to look, flight suit, and actually gives you guys some great POV perspective for what your VR pilot needs to look like. I guess the USAF is relaxing somewhat with video footage in the cockpit. Still no screens as suspected of instrumentation on the panel, however, a great shot of AA refueling. Both videos should help with development if you do not already have these. They are hot off the press. Also might be worth subscribing to this channel for reference material. Looks like all the videos are authorized by all branches and a lot of current footage. Pretty good carrier footage from this year if needed.

We have had a few weeks off between work and some personal matters. Getting back into ITJ ourselves and should have some updates hopefully soon. We tried a few things to incorporate enemy troop insertions and armor attacking a FARP, but it killed the performance every way we attempted it. We have backed off of this and are looking to add some more content between the North FARP and Antonio International. Not stopping, just slowed down a little. We also have a Kiowa Campaign out there we promised to wrap up. We have one more mission to complete on that so we can call it done. ITJ sidetracked us from the Campaign we made. I fully expect another sidetrack moment when ViolentNomad @ViolentNomad releases his Cobra. We are incorporating that into ITJ right away. ITJ should be back up and running soon with some more updates. I also want to wrap up the Army side of Antoni International.

Low level in the Cayuse. Great time out in the woods!

Might as well get this thread kicked off! This was my first flight on the map today. Thoroughly impressed with performance in VR. Knocked it out of the park Ugra. More to come. Have a really good OH-6 video I need to get knocked out.

Saw this today. Thank you for trying on the cable and for the info on the Tariffs. This will help guide my next move.
-
Not the best time to ask this question because of the Tariffs, but has PIMAX ever consider having a distribution warehouse in the US or teaming with a partner to carry their product? I feel like it would sell a lot better if there was not the nervousness of ordering the headset from overseas and waiting for it to ship so long and far. PIMAX hands down is the best VR headset and I have yet to see any US VR company come close to trying to compete. I feel you would dominate the US market in VR if it was easier to purchase, excluding the current ongoing politics right now. Either way, I am sold on purchasing a super, but given the Tariff hikes in the past 48 hours, I will need to standby and see if both parties cool it off a bit. Were you able to locate another 8K cable? That I would be willing to bend for right now and order.
-
Great news! I know Jaap has discussed this somewhat, but if I were to place an order this weekend in the states for the super with a rough EDD of July(ish), so you know what kind of damage I am looking at with the tariffs being slung between both countries right now? Trying to decide if it is a good time to pull the trigger or wait. Any insight on the estimated increase in price from the tariffs would be appreciated. More than likely it will not persuade me unless its a pretty steep price hike. Again, thanks for the lightning response times. It is more than appreciated.
