Just a little word about brakes of warbirds:) As you certainly know there were only drum brakes fitted on that aircrafts. If you experencied already the drum brakes on a motorbike or any old machine with that kind of stuff, you are aware that they are not progressive when cold, and when too hot completly ineffective. Thus i don't know and don't even suppose the DCS and modules devs have integrated something like a difference of behaviour between a cold brakes and hot.? But in real life there is a difference noticeable. In facts with a cold brakes ,like you have when you land after a flight, the brakes could be brutal. However after taxiing a while ( too long time)using brakes to turn it shoud be get something less effective. It's not the case in DCS.Thus no code implemented to get difference between cold and hot brakes.I guess. This option could be genius if existed and could be explain why sometime when you touch at the brakes your aircraft goes erratic.Unfortunatly i think it's just something too harsh that is coded. I mean at least for the spitfire module.

Windows not booting anymore - SrtTrail.txt error
cromhunt replied to Bog9y's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Salut:) my answer in french because i saw you are from Toulouse, and it will be easier to understand what i write:) Donc: Avant de reinstaller windows. Please help me with trimming a warbird. i am new in DCS. Thank you
cromhunt replied to Ravent's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Do you know what is meaning when talking about "induced roll". This effect happens when you push the rudder ,because the yaw push a wing to accelerate and other to slow that is creating a roll to the same side of the pedals you push. thus when you are piloting you may roll with the rudder pedals. It's mainly the stuff to be understood to trim your aircraft. first: If you roll you will loose you stability in pitch, thus you will have to reset your trim. Make some attempt from a stable flight without using the stick to roll. second: At each time you change the power you change the overturning couple, which make yaw your aircraft. To resume: maintain your power stable at flight level, begin by to trim your aircraft in yaw, then after in pitch. After a while you will find that natural. Don't use the trim in roll, besides you will see that some warbirds don't have it. Last word think to set your rudder centered before setting the trim.Check out your needle ball.(turn&slip) I hope it's help a bit -
I don't know how to search this forum to see if others have had the same problem ... Here, everything is in the title. I downloaded the update, and during the installation, the error message appears: inflate (-3) incorrect data check How can I do ? uninstall everything, and reinstall everything? thank you for helping out" tu peux l'utiliser telle quelle sur ton "ticket"ils comprendront surement. correct as-is Oleo spring rate/damping wrong?
cromhunt replied to Badders46's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes:) the landing is horrible on my video:)besides i said i'm not an expert. You point out a landing on grass. I hope you know that on concrete and grass the ground effect is different. I perfectly understand that you want to bring the subject on a something of ingeneering useless. i don't care about what is the viscosity of oil ,the grease or the tires pressure...etc It's a game, not a laboratory. Anyway i maintain it could be better with a bit of practice, and no need any patch for that. It's my last word. Have a good game. -
correct as-is Oleo spring rate/damping wrong?
cromhunt replied to Badders46's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just practice and don't wait that thing becoming easy before. You are right when you say it's difficult. But it's not impossible. If at each time something appears a little bit hard ,the devs will have to change something in code,we will have a stupid game of flight and not a simulator. As i can say and you can see in video,i'm not an expert the stuff could be better. But it's not necessary to make waste the time of the devs with that things. Practice and practice..... -

Ok "fri13" i quoted some words of your previoust post, because you describe good enough and with a better english than me what a real pilot think about all that stuffs. Unfortunatly you stray in a wrong direction with your citations and once more videos that mean nothing about the "flying helicopter in real". This thread has not been created to make DCS the pope of simulators.I don't care about his main business. And further how his devs are intended to do. It could be something about food that would even not make me thinking about to eat of something. And about your appreciations of talent of real pilot to understand how his machine works, you are completly wrong. So wrong that i wonder if you know what kind of knowledge are requested to give a licence?. Thus if you come like the other for flood this thread with useless references; i invite you to do that on another thread. If you and other nerds don't know how demonstrate a stuff without all your iniquitous videos ,quotes, whitness, and don't know only talk about a subject with your words and understanding about that you experienced in real. You are not welcome on this thread. I'm waiting for anyone able to relate his feeling while piloting a real helicopter. I don't care about your wiki encyclopedy, and all bullshits that you gathered. Now if you want to talk with me about all other things out of this thread, you can join me here: https://discord.gg/YwBwyuQ Thanks in advance.

we can't say better you hit the bull"s eye

Ok,that's enough now Trolling is the mark of dumb ass Like for "Ramsay" what don't you understand when i say "flying helicopter in real"? Do you do that ? in real? furthermore i let a way for those who want talking de DCS sur mon server; check it out above. If not ,so long and have a good game.
-
Of course i can do it:) Stop your ridiculous rethoric method. However i'm not sure you will be able to understand all the stuffs. And as a proof that you said that gyroscopic precession has no impact. You are wrong this caracteristic is common to all stuff turning. And necessarily on a rotor. Now i'm tired to explain that things to everybody who has any knowledge for nothing. Make your proper research as usual with your favorite wiki. This thread is "flying helicopter in real"not something to make your fantasms beconmig real. now it's over . Come back with something from your real own proper flight experience that you can talk.
-
Hey:) "Ramsay" I already say i don't care about all wiki references and other thread by someone else than you,so let it be,please. Now . What don't you understand when I say that a real pilot is looking out only. I don't care about the position of the cyclic; I am watching my position relative to the horizon. Now since you insist and to see if you know what you're talking about, I have a question. If you are able to answer it we continue, otherwise sorry but it's over. Describe everything that happens in flight when I push the cyclic to the right or to the left. Describe all the side effects. And in the same time describe the gyroscopic precession. Don't forget anything. Only with your words,no videos ,no threads quoted,NO GRAPHICS,no token of someone else, just your words. It's your last chance to be listened. This thread is to talk about "flying helicopter in real" not in DCS.
-
Ok:) i'm gone to continue answering you as you seems aware of something.Unfortunatly it is something completly theoric.I wonder where you find this stupid assertion that suppose the cyclic doesn't return to neutral after a push or a pull ? I was pilot on alouette 2 SE 3130 artouste and SA 318 astazou also. https://cromhunt.proboards.com/thread/160/real-flight I began to learn piloting helicopter on Se 3130 with compensators, and after on Se 3130 with servos.with the first one the compensator did more easy to maintain of cyclic around a central position. It is the only moments where i was feeling the position of the cyclic. With the servoscommands i never had to feel the center. On a gazelle the sas maintain the cyclic to return to neutral. Thus i don't and didn't wonder where the cyclic is,when i push or pull it.Because while looking outside i know how is my level of flight Now i have to say,and it could be the last time i do.When you are piloting a real helicopter there is nothing like the stupid red commands indicator. I mean the red stuff with vertical and horizontal lines and the diamond on the center. This stuff is useless and make you wondering how is work. It seems that you players are focus on this. And in the sametime you are wondering why commands are not corresponding. When you learn to fly an aircraft, as well a plane or a helo. You learn to get references while looking out of cockpit, and never be watching your cyclic or stick.Because we must looking outside, and never ever looking the floor of cockpit. If you do that you loose the control. First reference is the horizon, you are watching your position. To roll or to climb you use references from the horizon crossing lines on your windshield. Instead of your dumb references coming out straight from the game that make you loosing your mind, try the real managing of helicopter;with a search on your favorite wiki site you will be able to find some real lessons. And if you find nothing i'm ready to show you how you have to pilot a helo on my server. That's all folks

First of all thanks to be a little courageous in posting here ,even if you are not really aware,as a real pilot:) So what follows could be harsh, and i ask you to consider that it is not against you ,but i have to remind some facts. 1: Everyone forgets that aeronautics uses aerodynamic laws that depend on aerology. It is not by aligning numbers calculs and abstract percentages that we will find a solution to the problems of simulators. The only way to get something right would be to stop mixing everything to confuse the players and attract them to this game; When I was flying planes and helicopters I had nothing to do with the calculations of the engineers and all these figures. I didn't care about all these complicated stuffs,i was just applying parameters pointed by the flight manual,to avoid a fatal happening. I piloted by displaying the parameters required to not crash my body and passengers I never wondered what percentage of cyclic I had to apply one way or another to stay in flight. That's the problem between real pilots and simulator players. 2: Players always asking for particular knowledges about the gazelle and point something from the game. In the same time they would like that it would be same in reality. The worse is that they insist all their assertions like they have an hypothetic experience of real flight. The question is,do they know what they are talking about?. I think they DON'T) About difference between sa341 and 342 is : the powerplant ,the weight and many other thing more than 170 modifications since the first gazelle. Rotor blade from squirrel for the sa 342M1. https://aviationsmilitaires.net/v3/kb/aircraft/show/14369/aerospatiale-sa-342m-gazelle Ok what is the version you would like to talk about among these 170 versions? Hummm?:) The problem cannot be solved with speculations extracted from observations of somebody else than you. Now your graphics are not good enough to explain something. Because the type of rotor blade is not the same . Do you know what is a rotor starflex? https://blog.aopa.org/aopa/2011/05/25/starflex-rotor/ And as long you have not experienced the flight of these differents versions, you cannot tell nothing at all, about the stuff. You know (i hope) that before launching an aircraft there are a bunch of tests to confirm or infirm all theorics. From those tests certifications may be given and never only with some graphics or calculations and complicated. Thus why all of you players would like that a simple references wiki or else is good enough to explain the helicopter flight?

Only if you have real experience of flight on real helicopters. thank you.

Bingo:) you are right "rob10" thanks for the tip.

What's wrong with the last update? This message pops...and never seen before. however the game runs without any issue after that.

Help for autockick function on multiplayer server
cromhunt replied to Alberto_mic's topic in Mission Editor
Which is the setting in your mission? Did you set a timer? Did you set an exit at the end of the time? Or did you set a load mission at the end of the mission? Or something else? If the timer of your server is buggy,it's the way to avoid issue. Try to set your mission with a timer. by ME -

New and recent video with the last DCS patch As you can see it's not perfect:) i'm not an expert. It could be better with a bit of practice. Parameters are same as the first video: speed around 140 mph PA around 21 Good game
