1.5.4 Mirage sound issue
droopy114 replied to SilverNova115's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
New sound are still WIP, quiet, yes, but great.....i've read somewhere here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=156925 Razbam team is waiting for ED to help them for the full sound implementation. -
Engage Anti-Skid, then disengage it, parking brake will work again. The only solution i've found.

Yes, more or less the same tactic and it work.....or not. If you open this mission in the ME, you can see AI is set to "random", so it depend the AI skill.Personally, I removed the 2 Mig23, and sometimes I change the other flight to Su27, Mig21,etc.....or the scenario (2 VS 1),good for training.

If it's a new hardware, then it's better to format your SSD (BTW you have the option when installing Windows) then reinstall all the stuff after (drivers, DCS, etc......) you are sure to have a clean system.Concerning your actual config files, you can save them, and after your new install, reapply them. This is very useful for joystick profile....
-
So you have 2 SSD (i mean one for OS and the other for DCS)? If not, and if you are going to change motherboard/CPU/RAM, keep in mind you should do a fresh install of Windows+drivers, otherwise you will have some troubles...

[Video] My first major DCS Movie : "The Delta's revenge"
droopy114 replied to Theskyline35's topic in Screenshots and Videos
nice, bravo ;) -
So, maybe we can suggest to ED if it's feasible to add Starway's lua's config files as an in-game option, whis this, no integrity check problem. At the beginning, this mod was intended to be sell as a separate DLC, with is own config files, maybe they can have a look at this.... what do you think about this?
-
True but those textures were created for looking and working great with those modified lua's, and BTW, those news lua's get rid of stutter and the freezes when we zoom in/out in cockpit.... now this is annoying..... this is amazing but Starway's modified lua's are much better in term of performance than ED's ones....

From Zeus: "ED gave us a custom sound control, a sounder, for the M-2000C. So in our developer version, we are using our custom sounds. We are not happy how the sounds, well sound in-game at this time. Unfortunately we cannot edit and test the sounder directly. We make our edits and send them to ED and then ED send us an update in which then we test how it sounds now. Why we need this back and forth between ED and us? Because the M-2000C sounder is an integral part of DCS so AI versions of the M-2000C can use the same sounds as the player version. This indirect way of editing and testing makes the job difficult and slow. But we will get there eventually." http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2792511

What is bottlenecking my DCS ?
droopy114 replied to dureiken's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Try this: HDR off, flat shadows:on, shadows: flat only. For a 3840×2160 screen resolution , 16xmsaa is way too high, try with 2x or 4x, and this mod for a nice FPS boost: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2495081 See Mustang post, no trees shadows. -
Turning off vsync means deal with screen tearing, unless you have a gsync monitor, don't you?

Alt+enter when entering the game is essential, to get rid of that stutter. An important thing to do also is to be sure all your settings in Nvidia Control Panel or Nvidia Inspector are set to "application controlled", and probably the most important: the Power Management Mode, set to "prefer maximum performance". DCS is CPU intensive, see here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157374 The more ghz the better...and the RAM: 8Gb is fine for SP, but not for MP, sadly. Last night i've played on the "TFP Operation Skyfall" server, when joined we were 18 players, i've checked the VRAM usage reported by the game (left Ctrl+Pause twice), it was showing me 14Gb+...

Interesting, never think about this. Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try to.

I think starway use 8K textures to avoid the repetitiveness of tiles at a certain altitude. Those textures looks greats, but i've found a strange bug (not sure if it's Starway's textures or DCS related): for those having FPS hit, it can be worth the try: i've installed the textures with JSGME, as always with mods, and set up a simple mission where i'm on the runway, ready for take off: FPS: between 55/78 (depend where i look), before 115/140  then i play with setting, nothing works....don't ask me why, i disabled the clutters/bushes (slider to 0m), FPS:118/146, ok....i think i've found the culprit.... i've re-enabled it, so slider at 1500m, FPS:115/140  Any ideas?

If you want to customize your own view, first: be sure to tick "enable users snapviews", in-game option. When you are in your cockpit (WITHOUT TrackIR), set your view like you want then hit left alt+numpad 0, your new view is saved. If you want to edit it manually, go to C:\Users\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews, find the aircraft you want, and edit the lines after this: [13] = {--default view A comprehensive guide: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114260
