What Eddie said. You'll see it light up on the top right corner of your TAD page.

What do you mean by that? Aren't techniques like smart scaling and adding glare to objects used to help overcome the problems of monitor size and monitor resolution?
-
I used this joystick for many years and it served me well. One thing I noticed is some slop around the center after a few months of use. Another thing was that the throttle is not very precise at all... I stuck a couple pieces of paper in there and taped them down to make the throttle stiffer. It helped but it still lacked the precision needed for things like Air-to-air refueling in the A10C (or I'm just terrible at it because I still have trouble with the X52 I use now). That being said, for the price it's a solid stick that should last you a long time.

Just a logistical question here: Is it just me or was the old poll with many votes replaced by a new poll with not so many votes?
-
I'm sure this had already been mentioned, but you cant have a discount for some people and not others. That would be the most ridiculous marketing strategy I have ever heard of; not to mention that it would alienate the majority of your customer base since most people don't even fall into this category. Sorry but voted no for this absurd proposition.

Even with all this bickering back and forth, the question still stands. If a developer announces that they are working on a project, does that prevent any other developer from taking on the same project? If it does, then shouldn't developer be bound by some contract that requires the actual development of said project?
-
Using the F-15 as an example, my only problem with all of this, is had Razbam not announced that they would be working on one, would another company have taken on the project instead?

Just bought Black Shark. Dissapointed
MacEwan replied to KrizzKaliko's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
So you're having trouble hovering? is that it? I'm not trying to be sarcastic just a legitimate question so I can maybe offer some help. -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
MacEwan replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Very true. I would buy any and every aircraft on that list if they're up to true DCS quality. The Superhornet is just the one I want most. -
Weathered cockpit

Looks really good, nice job!! -
Awesome video, thanks for posting...Man, we need an FA-18 in DCS ASAP.

If I remember correctly the P-51 is a precursor to DCS WWII, which will have a WWII relevant map. And correct me if I'm wrong but isn't EDGE supposed to have some tools for map makers and modders to be able to make some user made maps?
-
haha, can't argue with that! One of the things I'm looking forward to most is the new maps were going to see after EDGE. We have some pretty talented modders in the community.
-
Awesome thanks  Does anyone know if there are plans to bring Georgia up to the same level as Nevada post-release of 2.0.0?
-
I didn't mean to say that it's easy in real life, my point was that it is easier in real life due to thousands of reasons that we can't yet duplicate in a sim. Until the technology is available to offer a 1:1 representation of the real world then we need to find ways to compensate for looking at a 2D display, on a computer monitor, at a lower resolution than the human eye, and with far less colours and shading than we have in the real world. Don't get me wrong, Im not advocating the use of labels, I just think that we need some tools (smart scaling or some other technique?) to allow realistic spotting in game.
-
Wait, I'm a little confused now. Isn't EDGE only functional in the new Nevada map? Or will it also enhance the current Caucuses map we have now?
-
Damnit Sith, stop making me salivate like a rabid dog all over my keyboard.
-
This is basically how I feel. I'm willing to pay the extra money for just a map only if the map is fully functional in the areas mentioned by Sabredog and others. In the end that's some of the most important stuff in any flight sim. If it's only full of eye candy and not any real substance then I'll probably wait for a sale before picking it up.
-
100% agree with that. I want ED to do their own thing and do what's best for DCS. That's the #1 reason I'm excited for EDGE, I'm hoping that spotting will become more realistic with higher graphical fidelity and things like glints of light from distant aircrafts.
-
I don't think it's about people not agreeing with the message. It's just that most people want ED to reconsider their position on smart scaling. We've seen it work well in many other sims. In my opinion DCS is the best sim available, it just falls short in a couple key aspects, smart scaling being one of them.
-
If it is a bug that is yet to be fixed I wouldn't get too discouraged Raptor. The P-51 is super easy to get started, it only takes all of 5 min. Check out the in game tutorial or a quick youtube video.

I really hope the devs are at least putting some work into the AH-1. First day buy for me...Im just hoping we get there sooner rather than later.

Module Manager (ED DL Version) finds Steam modules
MacEwan replied to Einherjer's topic in Payment and Activation
It works for me, but remember for the future that Steam purchases work on the ED version but ED versions wont transfer to Steam. -
I agree that ED should create a method of smart scaling that will best benefit the sim, but we definitely do need some sort of smart scaling. Especially now with the WWII module in the works and other airframes without radar (Sabre) it is important to have smart scaling in order to have realistic WVR air battles. It's just not realistic to be forced to zoom in and scan the sky through a straw in order to see an object in the distance.
