  1. Gero Finke from True Grit have said in an interview that he had spoken with Thrustmaster and tried to convince them that there is a market for such a hotas. Also some time ago i have asked winwing via discord if there is a chance to produce a hotas for the eurofighter. Their representative in discord (Tony) have said this. In the meantime they have mentioned about a, not anounced product. Perhaps someone could ask them again if they will build one.
  2. My setup is i7 4790K , 32gb ddr3 , gtx 1070, 4k monitor, trackir. dcs and w10 are on separate ssd's. 90% of dcs flying are 1 v 1 bfm mp fights ion private servers (hosting simple bfm mission with a friend) sometimes fights on fogfight servers with few other playets online. I don't play campaigns or sp /mp missions with dozens of other ai units / players participating. Until the new clouds patch i could play with 50+ frames on caucasus/ nevada map,4k most settings high (slider selecte options were mostly to the left) no aa msa etc.with the new clouds i get around 33 frames (even when i chose no clouds in the wathher option) which doesn't feel good to my eyes.would a gpu upgrade 3060ti/3070) give me 60 frames with the same or better settings or would that be a waste of money due to cpu botleneck? Thx!
  3. Razbam is aware of the dashed part . A long time ago Zeus have said that for technical reasons it couldn't be done in dcs. Currently the AA radar is reworked and a complete overhaul of the hud AA symbology will follow. Given the quality of razbams work the last few months on the mirage i'm pretty sure that the final version of the hud will be as real as it gets within dcs limitations.
  4. And i forgot to add that the CG will fit perfectly not only in the Cyprus (Syria) map but primarly in this one.
  5. This is an excellent (electronic) book where you can see the differences between various cockpit variants, including CE and CG. CE and CG have the same basic C cockpit layout but there are some differences. Most obvious difference is the radar scope and the RWR / self protection system. Also the CG's cockpit is english labbeled, the autopilot control panel in the CG is moved down in front of the stick to free space for the RWR, the CG has also an aural altitude alert systhem (Σ.Π.Υ.) with the respective panel poistioned on the left side, and there are some other minor differences here and there. https://dogfight-editions.com/fr/hors-series/2-cocardes-digital-hors-serie-n01.html
  6. So i got the answer to my own question from a former F1CG pilot and passionate dcs player. The aircraft flies pretty well in slow speed without wing rocking and the rudders are used to roll it at high AoA.
  7. And here is the real thing See 34:51 - 34:53 , 35:03 - 35:05 The radar cover is a very characteristic item of the F1 cockpit
  8. Yeah, i remember i was waiting as teenager every 8th November (Hellenic Air Force open days for the public) to visit the MIrage AB and sit in an F1CG cockpit just so see this cover!. It extended almost to my face. I think with trackir - vr radar screen visibility shouldn't be a problem.
  9. Seems he will doing some RIO instructional videos for us .
  10. 2 questions for the devs. In game the radar cover thing seems shorter than that shown on all the pictures in the net (for french version, CG, CZ etc). Is this a specific cover for the CE? I hope we wll get the classic one to, it's one of the things i love in the F1 cockpit. And about the slow speed BFM performance. Are the rudder's used on high AoA to roll the aircraft ? And how are the slow speed characteristics of the aircraft, is it more stable to fly (like the F-5) or AoA sensitive (like the F-14) where you get out of control if the stick is pulled to much aft?

  12. Interesting read. https://hushkit.net/2021/01/15/rhino-charge-flying-fighting-in-the-super-hornet/ Rate the F-18F in the following areas: Instantaneous turn rates “Outstanding. Better than anybody else out there we fought save the F-22.” Sustained turn rates “Good, but the Air Force jobs like the F-15 and F-16 were better unless we were completely slick (no tanks or pylons). For a while, our squadron had a jet with no tanks on it that we were using for airshow practice. We’d take that thing out and BFM in it when we weren’t practicing. That thing would eat even the F-15s and F-16s for lunch

  14. And a video about ovestressing the tomcat in dogfighting
  15. So, as an F-14A enthusiast, i'm considering the idea to order a custom F-14 throttle . The idea is not do a 1:1 exact replica (like one from throttletek) but a close enough throttle that mimics the basic layout of a real unit and can ofc be used with other modules as well. So i was thinking of a more compact version of gvl's tomcat throttle Since i don't need all these switches and to reduce the cost, my idea is to to keep the part inside the blue square that can be seen in the attached photo. First, i was thinking to add a landing gear lever , which i think is essential for flying correclty the overhead pattern over the boat (the pilot raises his left hand from the throttles to operate the gear lever during the break turn). One variation would be to replace the yellow wing lever on the right side (when is that used IRL?), the other is to build the gear lever in front of the throttle and little to the right, so in a position realitvely close the the real one (the base would be accordingly bigger). Second, i was thinking to add behind the throttles the target designate switch (or if it's not possible to copy the real three posistion rocker swith to add 3 separate big white switches for VSL HIGH / VSL LOW / PLM respectively). The idea is to mimic the pilots hand movement to operate the real switch. Ok, we don't have a sidewall to put the switch there and i know that irl the vsl was operated almost always from the RIO, but i'm looking for a ''more realistic feeling'' than that we get by simply mapping these keybinds on a switch on the throttle lever itself (call it masochism). Also, i was considering to put 2 simple switches on tha back side, one for the SAS Roll switch (that according to real checklist was disabled before BFM, i'm aware that not all pilots did that) and one for the THROTTLE MODE. Also in the front side of the right handle you can see in the video a simple switch and a four way hat switch not existing in the real plane, i was consdiering to keep them, the first one to call Jester's menu the second one to operate zoom view in / out (up / down) , usefull IMO during BFM sessions with a trackir. The cost for the (shorter) version of the base without the gear lever would be 245 euro + 10 euro's for the 2 switches, the additional gear lever would add + 30 euros. Any other idea / suggestion / help is welcomed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLYTsGLcIi8
  16. There are also some FM changes coming for the Hornet. Have asked this over at reddit
  17. Have already voted, it would be amazing to see a full fidelity F-15C module. But hasn't in the meantime ED said there will be no such module, because C version is not multirole capable ?
  18. In the weekend news there is no mention of the ''Updated flight model, FCS, and drag values'', that was included in wag's hornet mini update. So are there the flight model changes planned for the next open beta update or not?

  20. Another small observation from a hud tape. In GUN (ΑAG hud indication for the EGM variant) mode + radar lock, the snake line with the the pipper on the bottom part are displayed when the target gets at 1600m (16 indication on the dlz). At 2:52 So to summarize all the gun symbology that must be corrected : The dlz is displaying the distance in 2 digits below 35(00) m (as in MAG mode). Above 16(00m) there is no snake / pipper but only the center circle. At 1600m the snake appears with the a fully displayed pipper at the bottom part of the snake. At around 1000m the dlz dissapears. And the dashed part of the snake is missing

  22. Herons Systems, who developed the famous AI model that fought against USAF pilots and against a top notch dcs dogfighter (Ace) said in the comments of the later video that '' Short answer is it depends. Ideally we'd get Falco into DCS to meet the community where it is. We're still trying to figure out if that is possible and what the training requirement would be. If we can't, X-plane is where our in-house VR environment lives so we're stuck with that. Do we want the challenge from the community? Yes
