  1. I thought of a fairly simple idea that may appease both sides of the "True Red v Blue" argument. What if you guys made Blue A-A only F-15's and made Red A-A mostly Russian with a few F-15's, maybe about 5. The A-G doesn't matter so much and could remain unchanged. This way the missions become primarily "True Red v Blue" but still have a small factor to balance the teams. As mentioned before, I think a small balancing factor would be all that's necessary to maintain good team numbers. What do you guys think? :music_whistling:
  2. I'm almost positive. Yo-Yo, confirm? :D
  3. Another note, if you pull a turn too hard it can cause deformation (or fatigue?) damage in the wing. This can cause it to break with less G's on the next hard turn.
  4. Lolz, thread = 1 out of 5, would not read :megalol:
  5. I agree with this statement too, but that's not the only reason to want real Red v Blue. I just enjoy fighting in more plausible scenarios. On the WWII servers they choose to not put Nazi planes on the Allied side, even though you could argue they have slight advantages in the most common online dogfight scenarios (i.e. Low Altitude)
  6. Hey Maverick, I'd like to say great job with the server and I really like the different weather we've been having in there. :) I'd also like to say I would enjoy seeing true Red v Blue. For the same reasons mentioned previously. Even though the numbers might be somewhat unbalanced, I'm sure you creative mission designers can find ways to even the odds or even just encourage people to fly Russian using the layout of the mission. It doesn't hurt to try, I have faith.
  7. Well, this update would be more concerning the other two mystery planes since the F-14 announcement already showed us their progress on that.
  8. You paint a vivid picture with that description. :D It's driving me pretty crazy too!
  9. IIRC, weren't we on Teamspeak together at the time, with another guy "Barfly".
  10. I'd totally use this!
  11. I answered "Both of the above", but I enjoy learning the systems and learning the real world tactics and teamwork to then apply them against people in Multiplayer. I think I would get bored of playing with the systems and learning tactics if I couldn't then apply them as a means to an end. (the "end" being a smoking bad guy) ;)
  12. Sounds good. For the record I always have a good connection.
  13. I'm definitely considering that option, but that also brings up the question of X-52 pro vs. X-55 since the X-55 is less than $30 more. What do you guys think?
  14. Yeah, I would try to get a used stick on ebay if I were going to use it with my existing throttle. I actually bought a CH Fighterstick off ebay a couple of days ago, but some of the buttons were semi-busted so I'm sending it back. It's not a big deal sending it back though, since I didn't really like it anyways as I found it uncomfortable to use. I'd like a warthog, but it's definitely out of my price range. :(
  15. Yeah, the problems with the X-55 are kind of intimidating, but I think leaning towards buying a used X-52 Pro or X-55 stick and using it with my regular X-52 throttle. It'll probably depend on what kind of deal I can get. :music_whistling:
  16. Thanks for the response! Is there any difference between the throttles for the regular vs. the pro?
  17. Here's my strategy for takeoffs in case anyone finds it useful: I start with the stick held back and somewhat to the right as well as moderate rudder input to counteract the initial torque. Then I gradually bring the throttle up to 3000 RPMs during the first 100 ft or so, adjusting the rudder as I go. Once I have some speed, I start gradually using less rudder and keeping it straight (of course). I eventually lift off of 3 points. As I lift off, I immediately drop the nose and level off so I don't buffet or stall (while still holding the stick to the right to counteract the torque). The key for me is that I find there is too much torque at full power and at only 3000 RPMs you get a second or two more for rudder corrections before things go terribly wrong. ;) (PS: I don't use any takeoff assistance)
  18. Hey guys, This might be out of your hands if it's just a bug in the game, but the other day on the mission where Blue team is tasked with bombing a large ship docked along the coast (Op Looselips I think) I placed 2 bombs nicely on its deck and they just went straight through! Any remedy for this? (I can probably post the track if you want)
  19. Hey guys, Right now I am using a regular X-52 stick and throttle (not the Pro). I kind of want to buy another stick that's slightly better, and use it with the throttle I already have. My purpose to buy a stick only is to save money and because I like the X-52 throttle anyways. Any Suggestions? I've been looking at the Defender Cobra M5. Would that be an upgrade, downgrade, or lateral move? Thanks for any help.
  20. Wow, it's nerve-wracking just watching!
  21. Thanks for the advice! I guess I'll just have to crack her open and see what inside. I'm just not sure what I should use for the extension. I guess some kind of pipe, probably plastic. I've seen other people just use a solid rod and run the wires through separately also. So idk, but it'll be fun just to mess around with.
  22. I have an extra stick, an X-52, and I would appreciate any help in my attempting to extend it. I've never modded sim hardware before so any help, no matter how basic, would be great! :)
  23. Thanks for the offer, I'll probably try to check it out Saturday. But this thread was more for the general idea, not just for me.
  24. I may just do that if I get a solid NO from the forum people, but I think it would get much more attention if it was officially on this site. It would have more credibility on this site. I bring this up because I have seen it on squadron websites and it seems very useful. Idk, I guess we'll see... : / Thanks for the input. :)
