  1. I'm really impressed with your contribution to the community, Hans & DM. Forgive me if I leave someone else out. Finally, a pit that can be built just like the real thing but using wood instead of metal. What easier can it be? I really love the canopy bow and would very much like to see a complete cockpit using these plans. Now I wonder if I can stuff in my side consoles and MIP made with Dimebug's plans. I think I'll do a 3D model of these two sets of plans (DM & DB) and see how much they intersect. Just to figure out how compatible they are...
  2. I have modified the rotary selectors labels so they better match my 30 degrees rotaries as they are easier and cheaper to get
  3. Well, I'm waiting for another A-10C Knobs run from you. Just let me know As for the panel backlighting, this is my approach (See lightplate option 1) I don't like the idea of drilling the backplate to house leds from underneath. Instead, I could use two lightplate layers plus the front plate so I can lay LED strips instead. The other possibility would be replace the lightplate option 2 for the option 1 only so I can have a top plate in 2mm, lightplate option#1 in 4mm and a back plate in 2mm or 1,5mm
  4. Thanks, DM. Seeing this made me realized I used 15/32" bushing switches instead od 1/4" in the HARS Panel
  5. Besides, TM Warthog has far better quality with metal grip and solid switches
  6. It's simple. Do you prefer extensive areas where to fly or a small area and detailed terrain? The last option is what games like BF y ARMA offer: A half baked aircraft simulation and false operations without realistic distances from one waypoint to another. I prefer DCS to be focused on vehicles only
  7. Looks excelent! Keep up the good work
  8. The "pressed" commands are for incremental switches like self reversible toggle switches and rotary encoders. This combo method doesn't work for those "pressed" as you may realize if you notice that there's a line that states "value_up = 0". If you want to control Flaps with a toggle switch edit this command instead {down = iCommandPlaneFlaps, name = _('Flaps Up/Down'), category = _('Systems')}, After you're done editing the default.lua, back it up!! and go to controls in DCS game and look for your customized command and bind the ON states for the switches switches. The OFF position will be automatically assigned to whatever command you chose when edited the default.lua, therefore it won't be visible in the controls menu but will work just fine during the simulation
  9. What?
  10. Very interesting... I wonder if the Middle Plate (4mm) will sit well on the PCB layer since the SMD LEDs don't seen to have a clearance hole.
  11. oh, men... what a jackass It seems like you took astrophysics classes with BoB. Indeed, the sky meets the land far away in the horizon but not necessarily because the earth it's spherical but due to the perspective where things get narrower at their further limits
  12. Well, all you needed to do was adding the highlighted line in the default.lua in the path that can be seen in this image below
  13. No...too much of a hazzle with TARGET. My goal is to build a completely functional cockpit with the least additional software possible. I'm still trying to get rid of Helios and now I use it for my potentiometers and a couple of gauges. This is what an edited default.lua gives you: The possibilty to create and name at your will new bindings but as long as some functions are coded as toggle in the sim there's nothing else I can do to avoid desynchronization. In the A-10C we have as much as half the functions programmed as toggles which is lame. I hope someday this will be patched but sometimes I feel like ED doesn't want to support cockpit builders and offer better options for VR instead. I wish ED put some attention to cockpit builders and offer, besides multiple states functions, the possibility to extract screens and gauges through an easy interface
  14. After all these conspiracy theories about the earth shape I would like to know if NTTR is actually curved or entirely flat
  15. Has anyone figure out a way to bind a ON-OFF, ON-ON switch to a toggle function like Landing Gear toggle or TGP On/off without the possibility of desynchronize it? Could this happen I if set up my switches through Helios? I haven't tried it...
  16. VIVE could be more expensive. It comes with extra hardware. A Rift for 600 USD is priced way too steep for me but I guess that it's aimed for people with expensive gaming rigs to meet the minimum requirements for a convenient experience
  17. Sorry to revive this thread but I would like to say that one doesn't need to install any software (TARGET or CD Drivers control panel) to control LED intensity or to turn them off. You may only press and hold OSB 14 & OSB 15 and, while holding, use the Rocker switch on the left bottom corner to adjust the brightness. So far I haven't been able to prevent the TM Warthog Throttle LEDS to turn on everytime the PC boots
  18. it's a sad panoram for future scenarios. I agree that NTTR is a little boring if you fly away from Las Vegas
  19. Great mod! I'll try it. Now if you could give the A-10C air-air full capabilities ;)
  20. Pretty funny. Was this an actual conversation? If so your wife is so cool! I like the way she jokes about a topic others go mad
  21. This app is great and it's free!! Even if it cost 5 bucks it would be worth it. It completely replaces a CDU. No need to invest in push buttons and a 3.5" screen if you don't want to go through the hazzle of building your CDU. BUT I WOULD LIKE TO FURTHER DEVELOP IT SO YOU CAN RESIZE THE CDU ON THE IPAD MINI TO MAKE IT LOOK THE RIGHT SIZE IN YOUR COCKPIT
  22. It's kinda tricky to make it work but once you do it behaves flawlessly. One thing to pay attention is your ipad IP address. If it changes you need to update it in the export.lua I would like it to be resizeble so the CDU fills entirely my ipad mini screen without the AAP since I built this part with real switches
  23. True. Get the best i5 and invest the extra hundred of dollars in a better graphics card. This is the best setup for gaming
