  1. Mostly the ATC and briefing room. The Super Carrier has a real proper ATC system built in. Plus the ground crew, and the coming briefing room. The first and last are needed for a DC. We have to assume that there will be aircraft coming and going, and that will be a real mess with the current ATC. With a DC a Breafing room will be a big thing too. And I'm really hoping that the ground crew finds its way to the air bases. All technology that is having its development paid for by the Super Carrier.
  2. I'm probably one of the most critical members of these forums. But I can tell you the they don't show <profanity> unless they want to. And they like to teas us. It's been shown in multiple videos of late. And they seem to be working on a big update. If they're showing it, it's because they want to sture up hype. My guess is they are about to put some real effort into Super Carrier. It's a test bed for the technology that will be needed for a DC. I'm suspecting that we will see something about that Dynamic Mission in a few month. With a new possibility pain feature coming late in the year.
  3. I'm not sure they did. But they do now. Tested over the last two days. Full profile from chocks to chocks. Took him out, and brought him back. If you use Viocom they can all to the Attack Armor, utility, artillery thing. You can actually edit the Com file and make it work yourself. But the A-10 I can tell him to attack armor with guided bombs from the south and he will do it. Same with all weapons options. It really really makes being a flight lead a thing. P.S. make sure to set your SPI before issuing commands. How that didn't get rolled into the Apache on release baffles me. They did say that they are working on new commands. So maybe. The choppers especially need it. But really all the Jets do.
  4. As the title says. The Ai commands for the Hawg are really great. I actually feel like a flight lead. I can to some degree keep the wingmen out of danger. I can choose the weapon, and I can pick very specific targets. So Egale Dynamics, what gives? Clearly the code can handle it. Why is this 2011 module so much better in the regard of Ai commands then any new one. The Apache, and Hind at least need this exact set of commands. Why??????????????? This is the kind of thing that makes me so critical of you. I can't understand the discrepancy between the Hawg and littaraly every other module. So pleas find a way to get that kind of control into all the modules. And if you could please add some new interactions. Like calling for the flight members fuel state, or remaining weapons, maybe add "From The Hover" to the attack with menus for helicopters. A "Sort left", "Sort Right", "Sort High", "Sort Low" Command would be awesome for fighters, pleas.
  5. There constructive enough. I got there attention. That was the goal. Wether is get banned or not will depend largely on how the next several updates go. But the only thing ED did that I fundamentally have a problem with is the way the Viper was done. That was just stupid. But its coming together, and will be an absolutely awesome module before too long. It's entirely possible that Egale Dynamics is entering a new phase where they focus on the core game itself. I hope this is the case. Honestly they needed to get a cohesive plane set out there, and their big four Amaican aircraft do that spectacularly. And being here in 2016 it's what I would have done. I'm just reminding them that we would really like a proper environment to fly in. As for the BO-105, I can't wait! It looks like a blast to fly. I like simpler more limited aircraft. I also like to put coalition partner aircraft in my missions. I sincerely wish someone would bring an MD-500 with Ai crew to DCS. But for the heavy lift role I would buy ether a C/H-47, or a U/H-53 on day one. I'll take both pleas, and the Herc.
  6. I guess. But I've built missions where I attacked 80's armor that had AAA, and SAM moveing with it a d the hover attack worked well. I put I small forest between us, and came to a hover with my wingmen. Popped slightly up, attacked the SAM first, then dropped once it hit. Then I moved and did it again with the remaining AAA. Had to keep telling two the join, then what to target until we had eliminated the four tanks. Then, and only then we went for the APC's with the gun. So it definitely can work. But you can't just sit there. The Hind is pretty stable. You can pitch down slightly to fire then recover. Now as to the OP. Top attack no. It's not something the weapons do. But having Peteo fire and then drop it on target would be super cool, and alow you to attack from the hover if the situation calls for it. Plus It is how it seems to be done. So seeing the missile go up off the launcher then proceed to target would be pretty awesome.
  7. I'm pretty close to getting banned for being critical of PC and ED. The issue is if PC makes it I won't buy it. They produced a product. The expectation with DCS is extreme realism especially in regards to the FM. Even the Viper flew like an aircraft on release. The Gaz just doesn't. I don't know what it flys like. But it's not a chopper. So it doesn't meet product standards. Then after they took payment for that product instead of fixing it they said that they were starting a new product and wouldn't fix the current one until the new one was out. So basically they took payment for something then said you have to buy something else in order for them to finish the thing you already bought. That is basically a scam. And it offends me on a level that is beyond the scope of flight simulation. I don't really feel that they deserve a second chance. Razbam on the other hand released a statement on these forms saying they wouldn't release anything new until they finished what they already had out. Have you flown the AV8 or M2000 lately? Same for ED I what had to be the stupidest move in DCS history they released the F-16 before the the F-18 was even a fraction of the way complete. And well the F-16 was a module that looked kinda like a f-16. But they acknowledged this. And they developed the first product first. Now they are developing the F-16, and it's shaping up to be a pretty sweet module. This is how decent companies act when they screw up. So no for me Poly's second chance is if they wake up and fix the Gaz before the Kiowa is released. But that is beyond the scope of this thread.
  8. Don't want to derail this but there is a helicopter engineer that did a test with the actual TO. The FM is borked. It looks as if they didn't simulate the rotor properly. Being an A&P I actually understood what he's saying and way. People say lots of things for money. Flying the Apache I can kinda see how it feels close. But it's also completely off. The UH-60 is one of my absolute favorite aircraft. It's only a slight step down from the Huey for me. And I really hope it gets done, and done properly. With better infantry those UH can really affect a battle. And with proper logistics it the affect could be even bigger. So I'm definitely down for some heavy lift action. Personally I would love a Chinook. It different, and it can carry alot of Sh#t, and in a hurry.
  9. I can't +1 this enough. I spend a considerable amount of time just practicing on targets. At this point I'm mostly just honing my skills until the dynamic campaign. And I really like to focus on the flying aspect. Good takeoff, good landings, good overhead breaks. And it would be freeking sweet to have this to get some BFM practice in while also burning down some extra fuel. Hell I already kind of fake it by telling 2 the go close trail, and getting on his six. Be they don't fight quite as hard as the new Ai. This would also be freaking sweet for mission making. It's common for advisories to do "mock dogfights". You could set Red and Blue to Return Fire, and then have them do a Practice BFM, for some Topgun opening seance action. Also with a random trigger you could never know if they would actually go hot. So tones of uses. I'm sure it wouldn't be super easy to code. But we have a training map, and if feels weird killing advisory jets. P.S. it would be awesome to have Jester do the "regret to inform you" line randomly when you loose.
  10. Sure at this time. Back in 2007 I wished for an F/A-18. Someone at ED told me it wouldn't be possible because air to ground radar wasn't possible. In 2010 I wished for a Mig-23 and was told swing wing is impossible, in 2013 I wished for a Tomcat and was told again that it wouldn't be possible because the multi crew would make it impossible. At a time not to long ago FF FBW was impossible in DCS. It's impossible until some programmer makes it possible. Eventually it will happen. The money is there I think.
  11. Yeah but it's a Mod, a good one for sure. But it won't hit the level of simulation that a licensed module will. I'm actually kinda hoping that team decides to get a license. So much work is already done. If they can crack the four engines thing it will be in business. A Specter or Gost Rider would need an AI to do the endless pylons turns while you search for targets or operate the weapons. Maybe having two AI crew members. The C-130 hits a niche in the niche of DCS. And if you do an A/C-130, then a C-130 would be easy. Now if you could get paratroopers the actually fight, and aerial resupply you got yourself one hell of a must have module. Plus you might be able to pull in some of those civilian aviation types. They for a reason I can't fathom don't want to simulate combat. But flying two hours to perform a complex low altitude cargo drop might just appeal to them. So more players. But all of that new functionality is going to need $$$$ for the work to integrate it into DCS.
  12. Oh god please not Poly Chop. If there was ever a third party that should have it's license revoked it's them. God I hope it's some other team. Preferably one that actually knows how to simulate the flight dynamics of a helicopter.
  13. I'm hoping for improved infantry, and a better logistics model. My understanding is the UH-60 is out of the question. Personally I would buy a CH-47, or a CH-53 on day one as DCS stands today. I would also but a C-130 right now if it released. While there are certainly some situations where the Hercules wouldn't be all that boring, I do agree the the big choppers would have more interesting missions. If the dynamic campaign ever happens you could really aid in the fight by bringing up large amounts of ammo, weapons, and troops. You could really make a difference on the battlefield. Plus CH-53s are so f#%king cool. The park behind my old shop on a regular basis. I used to love watching them start up when we happened to have some free time. The thing looks like a monster sitting out on the flight line. I was swimming laps out in Japan one time. It was an overcast day and I had just flipped onto my back for some rest. When these two CH-53s dropped out of the cloud cover right above me. Whit their gray against the sky's gray they looked like some kind of massive ethereal creatures. Just an awesome machine. I wish I could have worked on them.
  14. With the "year of the helicopter" DCS is moving back to ground combat and close air support. More importantly there are now AI crewmembers that can fly the aircraft, and operate weapons systems. Also there has been a desire for a heavy aircraft in DCS. The Specter would be able to leverage the new Ai, while opening the door to heavy aircraft. Plus it would bring a new type of play to DCS. As well it fits right into the Syria, and possible Afganistan maps. I don't know how new you could actually go But an older A/C-130 should be doable. So how bout it ED, you wanna bring the four fans of freedom to life. Just remember they can run, but they will only die tired.

  15. Maybe on fighters they have prepared waypoints. But on the aircraft I maintained they imput all that <profanity> on the FMS. What your basically talking about is a distributable data cartridge. So it can be pre set, and "issued" to each flight member. Which is reasonable.
  16. Can the real aircraft do that? I spent some time ad an avionics tech in the airlines. I know all kinds of DL stuff that's possible. But I've never seen a function to send over a whole route, and have it automatically load. For sure you can text the GPS coordinates over. But I always had to manually enter them into the FMS. Now should the Data cartridge be able to have a share to flight function differently. DCS isn't really set up to have you be anything other then the flight lead. So it's probably not been thought about.
  17. "The only thing that is niche among those is the Buccaneer. But Viggen is also niche and yet is hugely popular." God the Viggen would be so much better if it had the fighter variant as well. Honestly the Harrier suffers the same issue. If the Ai was better, and that had the radar equipped version as well you could imagine scenarios where the more capable fighter just were not available. It's honestly hard for me to say. I love aviation. I loved it as a child. I spent 21 years in aircraft maintenance in the airforce, I'm and A&P licensed mechanic, and I'm about to go get a bachelor's in professional aeronautics and hopefully a commercial rating. And I hope my next career is in aviation safety. I fucking love aviation. DCS is less a game to me and more a chance to experience these awesome machines in a way that I'll never be able to in real life. There are vary few aircraft I wouldn't buy just to try out. Which is a challenge for me right now because I want to put more pressure on ED to develop core features in DCS, and I don't want to be a part of the problem. But I can't see a word that I don't pick up the F- 4 or the F1. Just for the history that they have. Hell like my second favorite module is the Christian Eagle. Seriously how can you not love that thing. Don't even get me started on the mustang, or the Tomcat. Once the A-7E hits I'll probably never even see my 4th gens again. But I also know that I'm not the player base anymore. If you just want to play online against friends the get ant of the 4th gens and be done with it. If you had a Viper, or JF-17, or especially a Hornet, and the Apache you can fly every single mission type in DCS. Same in the WWII world. The Stang, Jug, and Mossy all have basically the same weapons loadouts. I don't know how many of the air quake online types are going to spend a $1,000+ dollars on modules. Even I am starting to ask if I will actually fly this. I do own every module, but that is because I had more mony then sense when I got back from my final deployment, and I wanted to support DCS, and all its developers. How many new players such as yourself see it that way. I was on this ride as far back as 2005. I was here when this almost didn't happen. I remember when DCS was being advertised at the beginning of Flanker 2.0. And I remember when it looked like the black Shark was dead in the water. So I bought every module I could to help keep it going. But how many new players think that way. I don't know if I would if I came into this today. The F-teens are a must buy for sure. The Apache too. But is everything else? And what else can the do that is a Must buy. Once the Phantom is out where can they go? And as much as old farts like me want a Phantom do the younger generations here even care. I love the challenge of non fly by wire. But dose the sixteen year old with a gaming rig? And dose he have the money to get them all as it were. And all of that is why I say what I say. ED seems to have sold themselves into a corner. There are no more must buy of everyone modules out there. Maybe just maybe the Mig-29. But it will be an A so its a hopped up third Gen. Of corse
  18. Hahaha, yeah spelling isn't my song suit for sure, and I was definitely fighting with spell check. The reason I say what I say is most of the jets you mentioned are nich aircraft. Sure some of the community wanting them a big chunk isn't interested. Or doesn't even know what those jets are. I personally would love an AH-1W from around the Desert Storm Era. It's a helicopter that can do fucking SEAD. It carries Sidearms, and sidewinders. Plus it's got that Huey thump thump. Seriously we had a Marine aviation unit at my base, and if you haven't heard a bunch of Wisky Cobras coming in, your missing out. But at this point I don't know about me buying more modules. Probably would but a Wisky though. And that is what I mean. All the everyone is gonna buy this modules are already in game. Honestly there are more modules already in game then one can really fly. Maybe when the late cold War modules hit that will get alot of people buying. But how many players will say I have a Viper why do I want to fly an F-4E.
  19. God I hope so. Honestly at this point they could do QC and let the money come in from new players. That way they could focus on the core game. As far as new jets what are they going to do? Maybe full fidelity F-15C. Buy really where can they go? SAAB Griffin too classified. Dessalt Raphael to classified. fith Gen way way to classified. Russian modern fighters not allowd/to classified. J-20 if it can be done it will be DEKA that dose it. If I were ED I would finally finish what I started with the 4th Gen jets. Then I would pour my recorces into the absolute cash cow that is WWII. WWII Sims have huge player bases, DCS has the best flight models bare none. And could easily pull players off from the other WWII flight Sims. Since those modules are less complex the proceeds could go into the core. Then the improvements could be ported into base game. At least that is what I would do.
  20. JF-17 anyone. You set all that up in special options menu. And when you.load.the cartridge it's all there.
  21. I have to be careful I'm really close to getting banned from posting. But unless ground combat improves dramatically with the addition of the Mi-24, and AH-64, then there is no way in hell I would buy a ship module on faith that ED would use the proceeds to actually fix, and improve the navel warfare side of the simulator. But yes I truly wish they would give ships some love. Letting you edit what weapons are carried, or what kind of cargo would be a good start.
  22. You must be new here. Thing is its vary vary hard to set a firm release date for any modual. And honestly they almost always get pushed back. The fact is any modules will get released when it's ready. We have to remember that they create these modules from littaraly nothing. Pushing a release date could force them to put something out there that is totally not ready. And well first impressions mean allot. Ask anyone involved in the Viper launch. The only eagerly anticipated jets I can think of are the F-4E, and the Mirage F-1. I suspect both of those will be mid to late year releases. They take people that have a skill I suspect nether of us know much about alot of time and work to create. The wait sucks. But it's far better for the release to be worth it when it comes out.
  23. This would be an incredible module. It's fast so low level would be fun. It's not totally unmouverable, so it would would have the option to flight or fight if it encountered a fighter in close. It carried an absolute massive amount of ordinance. According to Wikipedia it can carry anti radiation missiles, so SEAD baby. It would fit right in with the F-14, the Mig-21, the Mi-24, the coming F-4, and the coming A-7. Plus littaraly all the 2000s+ aircraft we have. It would give the Cold War red air we have a proper strike capabilitie. And if we ever got a Mig 23 it would give us quite a good late cold War Red airforce. God I hope Magnitude 3 doesn't have the license to do this. It really needs to actually get included in DCS.
  24. Egale Dynamics, I just spent the morning doing 1v1 with the new Ai. Lots of different matches ups. And I have to say I'm pretty impressed. It's got a lot of new tricks. And seeing it actually panic and start jinkiing all over the place when its about to die was extremely cool. I hope there is more to come here. Especially in the BVR realm. But up close with guns is actually fun now. I've been vary critical of you guy as of late. And I do feel that is deserved. But this is a big step in the right direction.

  25. Amphibious warfare for sure. Like the game actually begin able to support it in any meaningful way. But I think they should probably focus of surface warfare first. Like actually giving the shapes an Ai this helicopters and aircraft have. Giving them more destroyble components. Like the freaking radar. And maybe the engines. Give them proper counter measures. And again an Ai that can actually engage with other ships, can turn so its defensive weapons are unmasked, and doesn't have to have its intercept completely calculated out in the ME. All of that would be great since we can actually fight ships.
