  1. Honestly I like this idea. Put up a poll for the aircraft they have the documents for. Then let us decide. The issue I see though is the forums are just a vocal minority. Most players aren't even on the forums. So some kind of market analysis has to factor into their decisions. Also the may be making a modual to capitalize on future functionalities in the sim. I suspect that is the reason for the CH-47. It seem logistics are going to ba a part of the dynamic campaign. So having a heavy hauler makes sense.
  2. With targeting pods pretty easy. Honestly it would definitely be easier IRL then in the sim. Our eyes are much more acute then what we can be displayed virtually. Also it is already kinda modeled. Listen to your wingmens call outs. They will call the kind of units they detect. If you try to have them engage a unit type that they don't see the will just respond with a negative. What you have to understand is this functionality is already fully present in the game as it sits today. Every aircraft type has it. You just have to add the lines to a text file and then you can call on it. Users of the late great Viocom all used this. The stock text file is the only reason you don't have it. I personally edit the file myself for the main aircraft that I intend to fly. But it's a pain. I have to disable it to play online, and I have to reinstall it after every update. All I'm asking for here is to just give us the ability to call up these functionalities as part of thr base game.
  3. This would definitely be an improvement.
  4. Would you please consider adding the A-10C's Ai functionality to the other DCS modules. I'm particularly speaking of the "engage with" commands. Ive been playing with the A-10C alot lately. I have to say it's wingmen commands are absolutely the gold standard for DCS. The ability to have your wingmen attack a specific type of target, with a specific type of weapon, from a specific direction is awesome. I actually feel like I'm leading a flight, like the decisions I make actually matter. That brings me to the meat of my request. The A-10C's wingmen commands and functionality is far above the rest of the DCS modules. The forth gen fighters would definitely benefit from the same level of control over the Ai members of your flight. Particularly on SEAD and CAS missions. The helicopters in particular would benefit from this functionality. Maybe add a from hover for the attack direction. This would alow the flight lead to issue the target, the direction, and the weapon. Giving the player the ability actually lead the flight. Allowing the lead to select the appropriate weapon for the threat level and the ability to keep the Ai flight members away from dangerous areas. Combine this with the ability to send data linked targets like in the KA-50, at least in modern aircraft that have a date link, and you would have real control over your Ai flight. Allowing them to be a real asset to you in completing your mission. These functionalities currently exist in game, but are limited to certain modules. All modules would benefit from having these functionalities integrated into them. Something that dose not exist currently is the ability to select types of airborne targets. For instance that ability to tell your Ai wingmen to attack bombers, fighters, attack aircraft, or helicopters. You can define it in the misson editor. But not direct it from the cockpit. I know what I'm asking here isn't as simple as a text file change, but it would require serious coding. But it is already possible on certain aircraft. I do believe it would be well worth the effort as having these abilities would greatly improve the immersion of the single player experience. Allowing the player to actually lead the flight, managing its recorces, and managing risk by keeping it away from the most dangerous areas. Where these functionalities are available they greatly enhance the single player experience. I think they would be a great enhancement to all DCS aircraft.
  5. Again I wouldn't presume to tell you guys how to run your business. But you do have alot, and I mean alot, on your plates at the moment. Let the third parties populate the late Cold War a bit more. Then drop an A model into the middle of that environment. I personally would skip meals to buy a Mig-29A if it was released tomorrow. But even I would rather wait until some of the announced Cold War jets are out in the ecosystem. The hunter will be more fun once it's proper pray is available.
  6. As stated above. I'm not talking about new functionality that needs to be programed. I'm simply asking you to edit the Comm documents to allow the following commands. Attack armor Attack Utility Attack Artillery Attack Infantry Attack ships Attack air defenses Also please have a command to turn off Radar on any aircraft equipped with a radar. Again I'm not asking for new programing. I've edit the comm files myself, and the functionality is there. Some aircraft even have it in their comm file. But on many aircraft there is no way to call it. I've got my own custom comm files for most aircraft. But my C++ skills are limited. So what I'm asking for is for someone to sit down and edit the base comm file, for jet fighters, then add it. I can PM an example of what I've done if you would like.
  7. Hi Eagle Dynamics, I saw that on Tiktok you guys asked anyone who wants a Mig-29 to comment. I don't have Tictok but let me comment here. I would buy a Mig-29, especially an A or G, on Day one. I would even pre order it at full price. Cold war Soviet aircraft are vary interesting to me in general. The Mig-29A is especially interesting.
  8. I would definitely buy this. Even just the trainer, and especially if there is an AT-6.
  9. In time hopefully. All of BST's planed aircraft seen to have made it into development. I do hope when that day comes you will offer a late Cold War module. The Apache kinda covers everything from the 90's forward. Far be it for me to tell you how to run your business. But if I was in ED's shoes I would definitely wait to see how the late Cold War modules already in development sell. And wait until that time pireiod is more fleshed out. Thanks you for the AAA by the way. That way there would be more demand, especially from the Cold War crowd. So here's hoping the chips fall in that direction.
  10. With the cold war heating up in DCS I would like to propose the AH-1F preferably from the 1980s. There were a lot of these made. They have a pretty good, and would be unique in DCS weapons system. And they would fit well with other cold war modules like the Uh-1H we currently have. And it would be a proper counterpart to the Mi-24P. The becoming packed cold war servers are going to need some bulefor rotary wing tank busters. Not to mention this aircraft like any from the pireiod, has a ton of history behind it.
  11. So move it to the core wish list? It wouldn't really be a TV2 after all.
  12. I'm not an expert of the Mi-8 models and variants. But if there is an earlier model particularly one with similar countermeasures to the Mi-24P that would be a great addition to DCS. If that version was perhaps the Mi-8TVK that would an even more exciting version. Or even if the Mi-8T carried such countermeasures. I've seen videos of Mi-8s and Mi-24s over Afghanistan that were using what appeared to be the same system we currently have on the Mi-24P. Since logistics seems to be something that is coming, and pairings of attack and transport helicopters seems to be something you are doing. Having an Mi-8 on the same technology level as the Mi-24 would be a pretty sweet addition to DCS. I would definitely be willing to pay for the downgrad.
  13. Not to mention because of all the proxy wars just about every combination of jets fought on ether side, and fought each other. You could easily have wound up with F-16A duking it our with F-14As, F-5s, and F-4s over Iran. British Harriers did fight U.S. A-4s, and I believe Kifirs in the South Atlantic. The list gose on. The Jets can be modeled. Red and blue can be properly represented. Any combination of aircraft could, and likely did fight any other combination. And you were still fighting the jet and the pilot more then the missile. Not to mention the data is there to model them to the 9's. I really think from almost every prospective the virtual not Cold War in DCS is going to be amazing. The F-16A would have been, and was right in the thick of it when if it would have gone hot, and was right in the middle of some of the most intense air to air in places where it was a not so cold war.
  14. It's still pretty complex though. At least as complex as the Tomcat. Man those to are going to be quite the pair. But it's got an INS, a form of CCIP, I'm pretty sure a form of CCRP, AGR, TV guided weapons, Multiple ARMs including the HARM, Mavericks, RWR, countermeasures, Multiple radios, a restored HUD, and a moving map display. Unfortunately all that is taking some time to model. I'm still holding out hope for this year. But I admit it's a long shot. Still I agree that this bird sits in a great spot technologically. Most of its weapons are free fall iorn bombs. Those, rockets, and the gun will be it's CAS weapons, and even some strike weapons. It isn't plaged with MFDs, with endless pages to memorize. It's going to cover almost the entire range of ground attack missions that were flown from the carrier. It's going to be an absolute beast of a Cold War bird. I would say this is my second most eagerly awaited module. The F-4E is my first. For the reasons you stated above, you get enough assistance to do things like kill tanks reliably, and hit pinpoint targets like a single building or bridge. But you still have to get in there to do it in most cases. The late cold War in DCS is going to be absolutely epic.
  15. I currently use 70 degrees of zoom on all DCS modules. It's what works best for me and my setup. The issue I have is as you zoom in on the Apache the IHADS display gets massively blown up. Like it almost fills the whole monitor. I was wondering if you could make the size of, or zoom level of the IHADS scalable to compensate for increased zoom?
  16. It's alot, but alot of it would recycle. Also the earlier the jet the simpler it is. Compare the M2000C to the F-16C block 50, or out F/A-18. The A model Viper would be nearly a whole new aircraft, but a pretty simple one by comparison. The Block 40 that keeps coming up would be able to recycle alot of the current system, and delete others. I would personally pay for both modules. Multiple modules of the same airframe is becoming the norm in DCS. That's a good thing. Especially considering that some of these jets have service lives measured in decades. Seriously consider this. A twenty five year old pilot in 1980 is sixty eight years old now. That much history, that kind of change simply cannot be captured in one example of the aircraft. There is to much of a technological gap. DCS preserves these aircraft in a way no other form of model can. In my opinion it would be amazing to have a representative model from each major pireiod of the aircrafts life. At least an early middle and late example would be nessasery to truly explore and experience a jet like the Viper. Again I would definitely be willing to pay for each module.
  17. That SMS is so retro cool. Let's hope one day they decide to make this jet a reality. I personally would be interested in one of the Israeli F-16As so much history in those jets. I would love to recreat some of it in DCS.
  18. Unit Detected in Zone Longer Than X. Pleas ED look into this. Not sure how such things will work after the dynamic campaign. But having to deal with alert fighters would be sweet.
  19. The ability to attach functional vehicles to ships, and placed static objects. For instance placing a Roland on a Hanywind as is passes through the Strait of Hormuse to act as an add hoc air defense systems. Or placing infantry on a plased natural Gas platform.
  20. A unit detected in zone trigger. Maybe add a modifier for the amount of time detected. For example: Unit detected in zone X time detected >1 second. So crossing a ridge with only a very brief detection wouldn't trigger an immediate response. But just having a detected in zone trigger would be great. And before anyone talks about Is omniscient AI, no it is not. I've tested it to deth, and even recreated the TopGun "good morning aviators" moment. So there is definitely a detection logic at play. It would be nice to be able to use it to script missions. I can think of numerous uses for this. I personally would love to use it to simulate alert, and QRF aircraft.
  21. It sucks, but we simply are not going to get current, or even recent iterations of most combat aircraft in DCS. I think the mid 2000's getting fleshed out nicely is about all we can hope for. I'm actually surprised we got the A-10CII. But modern radar, data links, and weapons are all very guarded secrets. At least we have the JF-17. So we get to experience some of the Chinese weapons. Personally I would settle for a full fidelity J-11A. I'm personally excited about the shift to the late cold War that is ongoing with the third party developers. It's going to be alot more balanced time frame. I do truly wish we could get full fidelity Chinese and Russian aircraft from the mid 2000's. But even that seems beyond reach at this time.

    A-7D

Exactly my point. You can even see it here on DCS. By far the best AT weapons are the Mavericks, and CBU-97/105. If you can be High, and get closer, or have a JTAC the good old GBU-12 is a good option. I'm using the A-10C here as it fits into the 2005ish time frame of most of the modern DCS units. You can build a CAS mission, fly it with both the A-10C and F-16, then work out which one you think is the best bird for the job. In vary high threat environments I definitely prefer the F-16. It's speed let's me release weapons from farther away from the threat, and beat it out of there. The SLUF was only slow compared to super sonic fighters. It could still toss a bomb pretty far. With the upgrades the A-10C got it would have been pretty useful in both the high threat arena that is was made for. And the coin low threat arena the A-10 exelled in. Even in Desert Storm I believe it would have out performed the A-10. I'm talking about the D model. It was about twice as fast as an A-10, so it could have made more runs into Southern Iraq to launch Mavericks against Iraqi tanks. Something the A-10 did not perform as well at as many people think. There was a reason the F-111 had to be pushed into the tank killing role. And for all of those reasons I do hope that one day they will consider a late A-7D. In a Red Storm Rising scenario it would definitely have been a key player.
