Actually they made the Kuban map, the Arras Map and Battle of Moscow map at least. I believe that they also did the recently released Rhineland map so it is reasonable to assume that they will do Normandy as well.

Normandy Map - Maupertus Approach Obscured
71st_AH Rob replied to philstyle's topic in Bugs and Problems
No one from Ugra (or Yurga) Media appears to monitor this forum or the Russian language one either. At least they have never responded to a post on the English or Russian forums. I think we can only continue reporting the errors here and hope that they address all of them when they publish the update to the map that ED announced would come after the Syrian map is released. -
Finally! The skins I have been (im)patiently waiting for!

Mission Editor Top User Requested Features

1. Neutral Coalition 2. Ability to add political boundaries to maps i.e. international borders, no-fly zones etc. that would be linked to coalitions. 3. Airfield objects with properties, i.e. a fuel truck as used at a FARP but it can be used at an airfield to define a refueling area or a Maintenance or Ammo truck that can define maintenance or ammo areas respectively. This would be particularly useful for WWII aircraft that could establish a forward operating field wherever you can find a flat field. more to come... -
:megalol: We were supposed to get a major update to the assets pack by the end of summer.... F-16 is probably the most important module for ED ever and it has caused the Open Beta update to be delayed until today. Hopefully we will see that major update in the patch released with the F-16. But I'm not holding my breath.

Yes you missed it. AI units are part of the WWII Assets Pack so the list is in that sub-forum, not sure why it's not a sticky though. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3260276&postcount=1

Yes, precisely.

So in case I remembered incorrectly, I spent some time scouring the forums and this is all I can find to support updates to the Normandy Map: DCS 2.5.2 Update 3 DCS 2.5.2.18307 Update 3 To Open Beta DCS World Updater updated (worked with 'deltas') Spawn cold aircraft on ship deck with folded wings. If the unit being followed is destroyed DCS crashes - fixed. ME. Added feature of static templates. DCS Normandy 1944 More detailed objects and realistic airfield textures. The textures now reflect the more dusty, lighter, sandy surfaces Removal of permanent structures from ALG airfields Concrete surfaces for the airfields of Evreux, Carpiquet, and Tangmere Shallow water zones along the coastal areas New stone bridges More structures like farm houses outside the detailed areas of the map Added more objects like windmills This was on 06-06-2018, 10:30 AM Link: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3519335&postcount=13 There was some some speculation about updates but nothing that was actually followed through with.

 The question is why would you expect it to be updated like the PG map which was released by ED? The Normandy map is the only other product released by Ugra and it only received one update that may or may not have been the result of significant pressure from the community or a contractual obligation to ED, we may never know since they have never made a post on this forum. ED's messaging on the obligation of 3rd parties to update has been ... mixed ... at best.

Just change the extension from .txt to .lua.

WWII Airports, convoy and others templates.
71st_AH Rob replied to Hunter Joker's topic in DCS: WWII Assets Pack
Well, you can but nobody enjoys flying at 1 FPS. Using Static Templates you can load only the bases and target areas that you require for the mission. Completing those and releasing them maybe on the user files section of the ED website would be a great service to the WWII community -
You can use points for up to 50% of the price for a few more days, if you have $25 in points it would only cost you $25. It is a great module and worth full price

Nothing in the Russian forum either, just a handful of people slagging them for Normandy and hoping Syria will be better.
-
They do update on their own site: https://ugra-media.ru/2018/proekt-blizhnij-vostok/ Also, I suspect that they do not consider themselves to be a 3rd Party in the sense you mentioned, but that they consider ED to be the client, not us.

I agree 100%

Because this is the WWII Western Front forum? That is what I was saying

No, the Sea Fury is the Navy version of the Tempest II. The Tempest is a development of the Typhoon.

If you could have 1 WW2 attack plane module, what would it be?

Caucasus? -
I'm curious, when did you figure out how to reproduce it reliably and what did you do to initiate the bug? Also I note that you previously said that the bug had only happed to you a couple of times and there was nothing useful in the logs, what did you notice and where did you post them? Maybe I have seen the same thing and dismissed it.

Don't think that you will find anything, you will need to develop it on your own. The DCS Grid, let's call them DCSG coordinates, are based on a 1m grid like MGRS, however, MGRS is based on a UTM projection of DMS. The issue will be the lack of a common origin. The origin for DCSG in the Caucasus is somewhere south of the Crimean Peninsula. You could place a beacon at origin 0:0 and another one 1000km away then check its MGRS and DMS location to see if there is any correlation. Another problem will be the direction of North. The MGRS is Oriented differently on the East and West sides of the map, the DCSG is oriented to the top of the screen. I think you would need a different calculation for each part of the map. You would need to do this for each map since the DCSG origin is different on each map. An interesting intellectual exercise, I wish you luck in finding a solution.

Fuel gauge was working fine last time I checked. I will have a look later today. It only measures the internal tank quantity so if you are drawing from drop tanks it won't move. Fuel should automatically begin to be drawn from the internal tanks once drop tanks are empty so should not lead to fuel starvation. Compressor stall or flame out are the most likely reasons for the engine to stop, normally engine will windmill at 50-70%. Did it stop completely?

No, SpeedTree isnot confirmed. The actual wording was: This is not the same thing necessarily as SpeedTree, hopefully they will be as good looking and FPS friendly as SpeedTree if they do not use SpeedTree
