  1. Mira, First, thanks for reporting this bug, I have looked into it and a few of the skins were wrong. Please try again now. Also, No. 410 Sqn is one of the older RCAF camouflage skins that Jocko417 created and the installation instructions are not as complete as his other skins. Please ensure that the skins are installed in: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\F-86\Liveries\F-86F Sabre\410 RCAF 300 Prior to 1.5 the final folder name was not as important and you could rename it anything and the skin would work, however now it must be exactly the same as the server. Some programs will call the folder 410 RCAF 300 when they unzip it and some will call it 410_RCAF_300. Following the instructions in his other skins, I think it is 410 RCAF 300 that is correct and have called it that on the server. You can report bugs here or at http://georgianspring.enjin.com/ Cheers
  2. Georgian Spring server is getting a new website that focuses on the server and the current mission. It will have a dedicated team speak server for all players with a channel for use of DCS Simple Radio. The server has real world weather, and of you want to see what the forecast is for the next rotation, there is a link on the website. The website will have dedicated NATO and Warsaw Pact forums for teams to discuss strategies and tactics. http://georgianspring.enjin.com/ Come out and join the revolution!
  3. My server has the open beta and the open alpha installed, however it has been running the stable release exclusively for some time. I will not make the move to the alpha until the Caucasus map is part of it because I am not going to pay $50 for every map that comes out for the server and then not be able to fly on it unless I fork out another $50 for my own copy. If donations would pay for the Nevada Map I would purchase a copy for the server and host some training maps but right now they are not covering the web page(s) and the TS server. We are currently using a few TS servers bit I am now setting up a new website and TS server focused on the server with dedicated NATO and Warsaw Pact forums because the amount of information you can get in the server description is limited. http://georgianspring.enjin.com/ Server is NA based, so your ping should be good, evenings are full of regulars and it is currently the home server for three squadrons, 2 Mig-15 and one Sabre.
  4. Yes, that is Chuck Owls guide, he wrote it when he was still a member iLife 71st. His guides are very good.
  5. I use 0 and 0 with my TM Warthog, depends entirely on personal preference and what joystick you have
  6. Mira, I'll look into the high ping issue, how high was it? I am waiting for a 150Mbps fibre connection to be installed, no luck yet so I launched anyway. The lagg is often caused by someone with high ping joining or leaving, looking at map objects with F10 -F7 etc Icons are on initially for debugging for myself, this is not the final version of the server just an Alpha test for a few weeks before I finish introducing all the features I want. The plan was to use the Fog of War option but it only seems to work for the Red side, it is not module dependent but coalition. so my map options are no icons or only own plane or full icons and I found that no icons led to people leaving the server because they couldn't find anyone on the server. The reality with these planes is that they did not have radar, moved fast and had a ground controller directing them, using the F10 map is actually a step back from what a pilot would have had so not as big a deal as it may seem. I will look into the Fog of War option when the next patch is out again. Enjoy your time on Georgina Spring, your skins should be uploaded Monday when I get home.
  7. I did a quick unscientific test that I will repeat when I have more time Took a Sabre out to the end of a long runway at the marks and fired the guns and observed where the rounds landed. the marks are 500' apart and the rounds landed before the second set of marks, mean point of impact was the ~center of reticle. I checked the gun table in the F86.LUA and found that the azimuth and elevation are set to 0 so we should get a flat trajectory out of the barrel that drops only due to gravity The M20 APIT has a Muzzle velocity of over 2900 fps so I would expect the rounds to land around the 625 yd mark assuming an avg muzzle height of 72" I will repeat the experiment more scientifically when I have time and make a vid of it determining the exact median point of impact of the beaten zone. This also raises another question, so I went to T.O. 1F-F86-1 and checked the information on gunnery eqpt in sect IV page 4-28. It confirms that the guns are bore sighted parallel to the fuselage center-line and that the sight is bore sighted down to intersect the mean gun bore at 2250 feet. So what? Well since the sight line starts off above the gun line and continues in a perfectly straight line the sight line is angled down and the rounds leave the barrel on a flat trajectory dropping in an ever increasing arc at rate of 9.8m/s/s the flat sight line must intersect this arc fairly close the the nose of the a/c then stays below it until it intersects it again at 2250 feet from the muzzle. The A-4 can be manually ranged from 1200' to 2700' so if it was set to 2250' the reticle would point to a spot on the ground fairly close to the nose of the a/c, (500'? don't have time to do the math right now) and the rounds would strike the ground beyond the reticle. Anyone care to test this while I'm away for the weekend?
  8. Yes the AI Sabre pilots seem to be impossibly dumb, they often give up energy deliberately and I've seen them engaged in turning fights without dropping all four external tanks. I set up an experiment and had 10 AI Mig-15 Average ability vs 10 AI Sabers Average ability both groups at 15000, neither side had an advantage. I ran the mission 10 times and watched from the observer spot. One Mig was shot down and many were damaged and 100 Sabers were shot down. Some of the Sabre AI flew into the ground or the sides of mountains, collided with other Sabers etc. For Georgian Spring I set AI at random so you never know what you're in for and have observed Sabre flights that have not got into combat yet, having just taken off on a CAP mission, missing one or two flight members, usually there are one or two smoking craters to explain the absence. Upping the Sabre AI to max ability helps somewhat and giving them the GAR-8 helps significantly. I think they are optimized for missiles not guns, I've seen them following a Mig flying straight and fire a long burst over the Mig and not adjust aim. Conversely I've seen the AI Mig make inhuman deflection shots with the 37 mm and have no clue how to defend against a missile. I know of no way to alter the Sabre AI just these mitigation factors. Glad you are enjoying Georgian Spring, you are getting pretty good with the FABs!
  9. I banned him from Georgian Spring for the same reason. He took off in a Sabre and started straifing planes refueling and lining up for takeoff on the same airfield.
  10. Good fight tonight! And welcome to Georgian Spring!
  11. Hmm, maybe that's why it is so hard to hit Migs these days?
  12. I have tried to replicate your error but can't, all NDB that I try are correct. I know it was asked before but I think your answer was ambiguous, but have you verified that you are tuned to the correct frequency using page one of the kneeboard, it displays the current setting of the AN/ANR-6 radio compass which can be hard to determine in the cockpit and if you are too close to another freq you could be getting a miss-reading. Also, the canopy must be closed for it to function correctly, I assume that it was?
  13. Thanks Chromium, when I opened the file to edit it I saw the build number then checked the zip file and saw that the last date was 25 Apr so I thought it might be that the link had not updated will set it up today
  14. Chromium, the link download leads to your site and the link on the site still downloads build 2086 dated 25 April. Looking forward to implementing build 2109 on the Georgian Spring server. Cheers Rob
  15. Yes, we do force some settings on our servers, however the settings are actually in the mission so two missions on the same server could give different results. The only option that would affect the NWS I think is GAMEFLIGHTMODE, this could be enforced on so everyone uses the simplified mode, enforced off so everyone uses the Simulator mode or left up to the users own settings to decide so two users on the same server in the same mission experience it differently. The bottom line is that it works fine, and in Sim mode is a bit more difficult because it is more realistic. Update 4 introduced some new default commands and new options for mapping actions that were not there by default before. Once I went through my various commands and deleted duplicates everything worked fine, might be worth a try.
  16. Whoo hoo! Going Mig hunting tonight!
  17. Yes, we have not forgotten, though it appears that we have neglected the Warsaw Pact, until now. More Mig-15s will be added and the Mi8 for CSAR and medium lift capability will be added so you will have the full support of the server. A couple of squadrons expressed an interest in flying the Mig on Georgian Spring but have not followed through. The server is really intended to be a sandbox for squadrons to play in so I would really welcome individuals who wish to form one for either side to let me know. oh and a helicopter squadron for each side would be a bonus!
  18. No.71 (Eagle) Squadron RAF is currently flying in the Georgian Spring server regularly. No. 71 flew Sabre Mk 4 as part of 2ATAF in Germany in the '50s. There are also two other Squadrons available in the RAF Wing. 1 (F) Wing RCAF is also available with No. 410, 439 (Joko417 I'm looking at you!) and 441 waiting for members And 4th FIW with 335th and 336th FIS waiting for volunteers. 334th is our sister squadron and we sometimes fly under their colours. 51st FIW is AI and is tasked with CAP and GCI missions to protect our airfields from pesky Warsaw Pact intrusion. Anyone wanting to help form one of these squadrons for flying in Georgian Spring let me know and we can arrange it. No. 71 flies in force on Thursday evening North America Times and some Sundays. Server runs 24/7 now testing but intentions are to start a 30 day campaign, along the li es of Blue Flag but sticking to 1950's.
  19. Out of curiosity I tried 740, never had occasion to tune it before, from ramp at Kutaisi MP, stable release and it works as expected. Will try in the Mig-15 maybe this evening.
  20. Do you have the synchronize HOTAS option checked? If you do, try clearing it and try again.
  21. yes, the AI Migs can be a problem, they keep going docile on me, everytime there is an update... The Sabres seem to remain aggressive so have no idea
  22. The server is running alpha test mission right now, I have a couple of major features to introduce. I might get bored with working on the mission this weekend and get around to creating the web page and TS Server. My intention for the TS is to have a single channel (the airwaves are equally accessible to both sides after allowing EW) and use DCS simple Radio plugin to keep the chaos to a minimum. Every flight on the NATO side so far is already programmed to have its own frequency on Ch1 and common frequencies for cooperation . The Warsaw Pact will be next. I'll post the TS Server details in the mission description as soon as it is up and tested. The website will take donations for keeping it running. Enjoy the server.
  23. I happen to know a server that could use a resident Mig-15 squadron. PM me if you have any requests
  24. Two x 250 lbs bombs if I remember correctly under the wings, the racks were in different locations than the E wing and could not support as much weight. I believe it could also carry a 500lbs bomb center-line or a slipper tank on the latter models smame as the E wing aircraft. Not at my library at the moment, can confirm when I get home...
  25. The Mk IXe could also carry 4x 20 mm cannon in place of the .50 cal and 20 mm combination and 1000lb of bombs.
