Why not just use TeamSpeak? Simple Radio Standalone is intended to simulate the way the radio works in the aircraft you are flying, if you want just a means of communication wit a few radio like features use the Simple Radio Team Speak plugin that Ciribob also developed. Tuning the radio from the overlay for FC3 aircraft is already a compromise because they lack clickable cockpits, making the high fidelity modules do that also would defeat the purpose of the program. Simple Radio Standalone was not intended to replace Team Speak but augment it as described by Ciribob in several posts. The way we UAE it and I encourage players to UAE it on my server is rise TS for coordinating, planning and briefing prior to flying then move to aanother channel and use Simple Radio Standalone for the flight. You can then stay on Simple Radio if all you are going to do is refuelbor only simple planning is required or if more complex planning and coordination is required go to TS for that and back to SRS for the next mission.

Excellent news! Thank you, I will test it out as soon as it is approved.

Quick question, did you release the mechanical cage first? Second, did you notice if the RADAR Inverter light was on? Third, was the generator putting out sufficient voltage?
-
you might be able to now, I don't have the radio panel but have the Multi-Panel and just map the buttons to keystrokes. To use the Radio panel you would need DCS Bios and ProUSBPanels. Unfortunately ProUSBPanels is no longer being developed unless someone took over I think and DCS Bios does not support all modules yet but certainly if you had the A-10C, UH-1 or Mig-21 it would be worth a try. Let us know if it works

It will only allow you to select a frequency within the range that the radio you have selected can tune. you have two UHF radios in the F-15C both capable of tuning between 225.00 - 399.99 Mhz If the frequency you want is outside of that, the a/c can not communicate with it.

Interesting, now it works fine. Not sure why, I didn't do anything different than I did before. And I spent a half a day trying to get it working before. I am not sure why it stopped, I did have it working and found a few weeks ago that it would no longer work so I downloaded that test mission and could not get it to work either. I redownloaded it today and it works fine. Interestingly the mission that I made still does not work... Update: the old mission is now working after removing the script and replacing it...

I'll test tonight when I get home from work. Thanks for looking into it!

How to know if an aircraft shelter is destroyed
71st_AH Rob replied to Galwran's topic in Mission Editor
Try a static one instead. Also try your deactivated AI in an open spot on the ramp and see if you get a different result from inside the shelters -
Not entirely true, check out Homefries' F3 Fury skins for the Sabre. He uses a common skin for the squadron and a clever decal layer for each individual a/c. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143158

So far in a few hours flying Friday evening I got two gun kills and one GAR-8 kills against a couple of random Mig-21 that came into the server I set up to test out the F5 on for the squad. Could not get the tone long enough with the P5 to launch. Last night flew on ACG and got 3 gun kills while trying to get a missile lock long enough to uncage the seaker head. I did notice that I got the lock tone randomly when the Mig-21 was not in front of me not was I pointed in the direction of the Sun, in fact at least once it was behind me. Will try again this evening but using the GAR-8 again.

How to know if an aircraft shelter is destroyed
71st_AH Rob replied to Galwran's topic in Mission Editor
You could try placing a static aircraft in the parking space that are shelters and check to see if they are destroyed. -
Spawn a player-controllable aircraft, when mission is on the fly?
71st_AH Rob replied to Yukari's topic in Mission Editor
Alternatively you could just set the other aircrafts spawn waypoint with a time 20 min after your aircraft. -
MOOSE Framework - DETECTION and TASK DISPATCHING
71st_AH Rob replied to FlightControl's topic in Mission Editor
The difference is not in weapon type but in the expected results. Suppress vs Destroy. It may sound like I'm being Capt Obvious but the differences are nuanced. Briefly: SEAD is not normally the primary mission but a supporting task given to an element in the way an ESCORT task is to achieve a mission. SEAD could be carried out by EW SEAD could have a defined area and time SEAD missions may never drop ordnance and still be successful, the threat keeping AD assets from firing being enough. DEAD must result in the destruction of en capability that was defined in the mission DEAD could be the primary task of a mission. as an example, the Air Component Commander orders the destruction of a bridge in the en rear area because he wishes to cause an effect on the battlefield in support of the Ground Component. The mission is assigned to Unit A would be a type of strike mission against the power plant. The Commander of Unit A will examine the problem and determine that he needs to protect the strike element by assigning an ESCORT task to an element to protect against air to air threats and a SEAD task to protect the STRIKE element from surface to air threats along the route. The en air defenses only will need to be suppressed long enough to get to the target and back. The known air defenses at the power plant could be suppressed or destroyed depending on the desired effect. I would generally expect that in the modern age of IADS DEAD would rarely be used against a sophisticated en. The payoff would rarely be worth the resources required. Caveat emptor, I teach at the Army Staff College not the Air Force Staff College but I do have a good grasp of these mission verbs. -
DCS F-86 Kneeboard ATC Channel List
71st_AH Rob replied to uboats's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
No, this is a chart made by Uboats, the OP and it is still valid. By default, the AN/ARC-27 set has Ch 2 programed to 258.00MHz AM and Kohlki tower is still 261.00 MHz AM. The Mission designer must have edited the freq assignment for Ch 2 in the mission editor when the set it up. Unfortunately you can not edit the tower frequencies directly in the ME. -
Swapping player aircraft for static object and vice versa
71st_AH Rob replied to Looney's topic in Mission Editor
Just tested in 1.5.4 - UNCONTROLLED still is not working, has been broken since 1.2.3 or so. You can check uncontrolled but it will only show up if a player selects that slot, otherwise it will not spawn then it can not be occupied by the player. I believe you would need a trigger just like late activation does? This would be the ultimate answer and I would love to see it working again. -
Georgian Spring has weather and even a forecast if you check the website!

Brilliant!

Swapping player aircraft for static object and vice versa
71st_AH Rob replied to Looney's topic in Mission Editor
There was an option in the mission editor, "unoccupied" I believe that did exactly that, it broke before 1.2.3 I think and have not tried it since, it may get fixed someday. Otherwise I believe that MOOSE might have a function that will do it, I was looking for the same thing but higher priority bugs keep popping up. -
Yes, but that only became functional in the Sabre with 1.5.4

Ciribob, Is this script working after 1.5.4? I can't seem to get the F10 menu to appear.

So, what happened to Sabers vs Mig-15 Blue Flag?
-
Thanks, the version number will make troubleshooting go much faster. The auto update seems to be working but I have a suspicion that it requires a reboot before it does which would explain the inconsistent update messages perhaps.
