  1. Hopefully we will see you out again soon, we need a stronger Mig-15 / Sabre Multi-player community.
  2. Nice work. You'll be happy to know that both pilots were ordered the Air Medal for keeping a soviet fighter grounded for a few weeks. Also one Purple Hart was awarded.
  3. That would ruin the appeal of the plane for many. It is the challenge of flying without all of those aids that makes it fun for me. Ideally you should have a fighter controller giving you guidance though.
  4. What trouble are you having running it on the same network?
  5. Not at the moment, it is just running a dogfighting mission until we start the campaign.
  6. This is not entirely true, the list above will only be available if you also purchase the WWII assets pack. Otherwise you will only see the other WWII aircraft modules listed by Krupi
  7. I might tend to assume the opposite and that servers will avoid using the assets pack because of access issues like that. I would assume that some clever individuals will put together a comparable community mod for servers that will work around that issue. Many of the items listed in the assets pack are already available as free community mods now.
  8. For me Spitfire works fine, hit fly on the F-5 and it locks up...
  9. Most recent versions of both. I think the most recent version of GCICAP is dated January 2016. Make sure you are not loading the MIST version shipped with DAWS. Unless he has updated to the latest version.
  10. Yes, it works fine.
  11. When you say it won't move again, you mean it will start and engine runs fine but aircraft won't taxi? Double check your wheel brake assignments for : 1) double binding and 2) invert axis assignments
  12. Right, the topic is and always has been the Normandy Map. The question which I still have, and would appreciate a definitive official answer to, is: When the Dedicated server software that is on the ED roadmap is released, will I still require a second copy of the map and WWII asset pack to run a Normandy mission on the server? Until Saturday, I was under the impression that we would not and that is why I have been not running an NTTR mission server yet. I would like to avoid wasting money purchasing the Normandy Map if I won't need it, the money can be better spent funding the TS server that doesn't get enough donations to keep open.
  13. Well, that was the question. The impression that I got from the live-stream was that even with the Dedicated Server we would still need to purchase a license for the map and asset pack(s) for that account and of course one for our game account, unless of course we did not want to fly on our own server. This is fine for the guys that run the weekly squad coop mission but annoying for those that run a separate server machine 24/7.
  14. That kind of defeats the purpose of Dedicated Server version does it not? At the moment I find it perplexing and it is why I don't run the NTTR server that I was planning on while I wait for the Dedicated Server version to be released, but after listening to the live stream yesterday, it seems that we will need a second copy of maps and asset pack(s) anyway, even after they release Dedicated Server software. Hopefully we won't need to buy extra copies of the modules to use with the Dedicated Server in the future.
  15. Should those of us who run 24/7 servers either on machines in our basement paying premium rates for speed and bandwidth to our homes to do so, or paying to rent space on a remote server with premium features that most games/sims don't require, take it that even after the "dedicated server" is eventually released, we will still need to purchase a second copy of the Normandy map and a second copy of the assets pack to do so?
  16. Glad you got it to work. So what are you using for manual ranging if you are using the slider for the dimmer?
  17. What we need now is a Combined Arms enabled Control Tower - like the Range Tower in the 476th Range Objects pack. These are great, I hope they keep updating them!
  18. MBot, so you don't have to modify Desert Tiger 76_first.miz or Desert Tiger76_onging.miz at all? Running SkipMission.bat should modify them for you? On a related note, I have edited my Mission Scripting.lua file as instructed and now my missions will not update anymore when I run SkipMission. I tried to open the _ongoing.miz file to see what was going on and it would not allow me to save it, not sure what changed.
  19. Nice! Good to see more Saber / Mig themed missions!
  20. What time zone? CET?
  21. Simple Radio Standalone (SRS) for sure. It is the front runner for a variety of reasons, particularly if you are seeking realism: Advantages: Still free and no sign of a fee in the future; Simulates line of sight and distance unlike previously reported; Simulates encryption; Is not TS dependent and therefore (unless the host enforces otherwise) everyone on both sides is sharing the same airwaves (like real life), meaning that you can to a limited extent simulate Electronic Warfare; Clients can connect to the DCS server and be automatically connected to to the SRS server if both the Server and Client are configured correctly (no hunting for the correct TS!) Disadvantages: DCS Server host must set up a SRS server (takes about ten minutes) Added realism, since use is predicated on using the radios in the A/C you can restrict comms with users in a/c that do not have appropriate radios (this can be disabled to allow additional frequencies to be accessed) If for example you eject, you have no radio so you can no longer communicate with your team until you are back in an a/c with power and the radio switched on. Damage to the a/c may damage the radio so you can't transmit, receive or both if that is simulated in the a/c module as a form of damage. It is not uncommon in my server for new Sabre pilots for example to forget to keep an eye on the Ammeter and let the RPM fall to low for the generator to keep up with the electrical demands, causing consternation in the cockpit until they throttle up! Features not implemented yet IFF Direct integration with LotAtc. Two thumbs up from this server admin!
  22. Outstanding work Chromium, I have been waiting for this mod to be updated to begin the campaign on Georgian Spring 1955. One question; has it been tested with Slmod?
  23. Hover your mouse over it and the circle arrow should appear and use the mousewheel. If that is not appearing to work you may have an issue with DCS try it somewhere else where you need to turn a mouse wheel.
  24. The knob turns clockwise to brighten the reticle, at startup it is 4/5 of the way to max by default. There are two things you can do: First play around with your screen settings, this may make spotting easier as a byproduct Second, turn on the secondary sight element. It is for use of the primary burns out, however having both on at the same time makes it incrimentaly brighter. Hope this helps
