May I ask what your settings are for the game? Your textures, draw-distance, shadows etc? I had mine on high, but have had to drop down to medium, in order get my frame rates back to 60fps. Before the patch is was fine on high. I also run it in 4k, with a GeForce RTX 3070. I've just noticed there's a driver update, so will try that...

I am disappointed to report there's been no significant improvement to framerates since yesterday's patch. If anything it's worse. I have a mid-range system and Normandy remains one of the worst maps for framerates.

Are there plans to add the new clouds to the Cage the Bear Campaign? Operation Reforger has them and they look fantastic, but the clouds don't move, which kills immersion somewhat.

The new clickable areas for the fire-extinguishers work well, but still no actual extinguishing of fires that I've seen. Anybody got it to work yet? I'd like to see a video/screenshot if you have.

This was listed as being fixed in 2.7, but still remains an issue for me at least. EDIT: Patch 2.7.0.5118 seems to have fixed it. Thanks :0)

DLC flaps stay down after landing?

Oh, okay. My bad. Do the AI obey that rule? Is it just MIL power for cat launches too? -
DLC flaps stay down after landing?

On the Tomcat I thought you were supposed to go full afterburner after the trap, not just Mil power? -
Perhaps you'll share some of these photos of beautiful aircraft, women and motorbikes whilst we wait

I tend to switch off the noisy air-con in the F-14, so I can hear myself think. It always felt like a cheat because there's no penalty for doing so. If you forget to switch on the oxygen you get the effects of oxygen starvation at altitude, which is really cool. If the canopy fogged up because of misuse of the air-con system, that would be amazing. I appreciate I'm asking a lot. Heatblur's F-14 is a wonder to behold as is. I'd sleep with it under my pillow if I could EDIT: Just saw a video about the fogging canopy and transonic shock cone on the JF-17. Looks fantastic. Hope Heatblur take notice.

CTD when tuning TACAN radio in multiplayer.

I've had several visits to the aforementioned server since reporting the issue and the problem hasn't cropped up again. Strange -
CTD when tuning TACAN radio in multiplayer.
JupiterJoe replied to JupiterJoe's topic in Bugs and Problems
It appears the problem is exclusive to this particular server: The Tacan signal is intermittent, even when sitting on the deck of the Carrier, which may hint at the core issue. I shall attempt to contact the admin for this server. -

CTD when tuning TACAN radio in multiplayer.
JupiterJoe replied to JupiterJoe's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thank you. I have located the DCS.log (C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS\Logs). I shall try and recreate the CTD... -
When asking Jester to tune to George Washington Carrier TACAN on the radio, to speak to ATC, I've experienced a CTD three times in a row. Any ideas?

I concur. Zone 5 is fantastic. Best campaign I've played. Thank you Reflected. I hope to see more of your work. Please pass along my compliments to Dave 'Bio' Baranek for his contribution to the project too.

Are the engine fire extinguishers working yet?
-
Thanks for doing this. In the first mission, when you land, the deck crew aren't ready to launch you again straight away. How do you reset them?
-
No spoilers: I see some have complained about the lack of 'action' in the first couple of missions. I loved the first mission. It sets an amazing tone and brings a sense of realism. In reality Tomcat missions were often long, boring and most pilots never saw any action. Personally I need all the carrier landing and mid-air refuelling practice I can get. If you're bored bring along your own music for the Walkman, slip a couple of Playboy centrefolds into your kneepad, or a crossword puzzle if you're married I love the balance of reality and action in this campaign and it's the best one I've played yet. In terms of overall polish, I think a couple of missions are missing Marshall info regarding what altitude to join the stack. Some missions have a lot of planes trying to land on the carrier and yet you're almost immediately being given the Charlie signal. It adds gameplay (and realism) to have to conserve fuel in the stack, or face another visit to the tanker. Thanks Heatblur.

Looks awesome. Great that you recruited Dave 'BIO' Baranek.
-
Oh, because one of the Devs above seemed to suggest it was working as intended.
-
I've never seen it work yet and had a lot of fires. Has anybody? Can't help but feel this is bugged. I pull out the fuel cut-off for the engine that's ablaze and hear the button clicking when I use the key bind. Nothing. This system should work when you're on the ground and don't have a fire shouldn't it? If you activated the system as a 'test', you should see a cloud of fire retardant chemical, thus disabling a perfectly good engine.

I fly with an AI RIO and I rarely go back there to see what's up, but during a Campaign I had cause to check something. When I switched seats I found his oxygen wasn't turned on, his ejection seat wasn't activated and none of his lighting was set-up correctly. I had always assumed all the clicking of switches I hear behind me on start-up was my RIO getting everything shipshape and Bristol fashion. Turns out he's been lying to me and he's really a lazy slob. Hadn't even emptied the ashtray.
