Oh. That is rather simple to not do. No need for special options :)
-
DCS is not reality. Very, very far from it actually ;) While I don't like cut corners, this is one of those special occasions when "close enough" is good enough. Just like the RWR and other sensitive and classified systems are handled within DCS, this is also one of those "more important to keep functionality items". It does what it is supposed to. Age of map should not be a limiting factor useing this aircraft mainly flown in the 1960's. Im with Zeus67 on this one. Maybe add as a special option for the real hardcore simmers, but I think that this is a good decision for most of DCS MiG-19P flyers.

How do you all think the MIG-15 Performs?
Schmidtfire replied to Harley Davidson's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
It is a great module! Perhaps a bit too forgiving at times compared to real life. Amazing climb performance, heavy hitting cannons... F-86F has more gizmos to play around with, but MiG-15bis feels more accurate in my opinion. -
Sounds like you are making it more difficult than it is... DCS config is really straight forward, powerful and easy. I would suggest binding everything in-game to avoid any issues.

Good news! I have been in contact with an ED tester. If we somehow can provide detailed and concise reports (including synopses, sources, hard data, steps to reproduce, tracks, etc.) he will submit that to ED. So sharpen your pencil boys. This issue might be easy to change via .lua edit, but we need some documentation to back up how it should be, before they (ED/BST) will make an official change to the current behaviour.

In DCS, missile detection cone / lock is module dependant until it is launched. It is just how DCS is coded and functions. There are probably ways around that with additional coding. Like Aim-9P5 and Aim-9P on the Tiger II or Rb-24 and Rb-74 on the Viggen. It takes more coding to get mixed IR missiles to work correctly. Good example is R-60M missile. Rear-aspect on L-39ZA and all aspect on other aircrafts and modules such as Su-25 and MiG21bis. Why? Because L-39 uses rear aspect R-3S. Same functionality is then inherited when R-60M's are used on the same module.

I think more or less everyone on ED forums are very patient compared to other games or sim titles. Some like to think that DCS does entitle a form of "holy grail freepass" where players are supposed to fork over 60-70$ and be quiet and grateful if bugs are eventually fixed. The majority of DCS users are well behaved and giving constructive criticism all things considered. English forums are (in general) well moderated nowdays. The russian side actually has a much "tougher" climate.

I dispute that. While I agree the FM in general is good, and the hover effect is really well made. - There are still issues with uneaven loads! No jet that behaves like DCS Av-8B does would be put into service as it is too dangerous. I drop one measly Mk82 and the whole airframe turns into something that is a really uncomfortable and difficult to fly. The effect is greatly overdone and should be tweaked/fixed.

Looking great! Still hoping to fly this bird in 2019 :)
-
Another example.
-
That's another biggie... and also the FM that flips like a pancake when dropping a bomb. But they deserve their own threads.

+1 As far as I am concerned, ASL together with DMT (contrast lock) should be one of the top priorities of the Harrier systems.
-
Harrier is pretty bad at the moment. Probably the most bugged, unfinished and inaccurate module in DCS echo system. I have all modules and it does not hold up. Hopefully Razbam will give it the attention it needs. You can still have fun with it, but for me the simulation and systems are sub-par. Again, hopefully it won’t stay that way.

I wonder if the Hunter drone is real or if it's some kind of ploy? The new markings on the Su-57 tailfins are over the top obvious and the pictures of the drone are all taken while it's being towed or static on ground. Also seems a bit strange how these photos were taken and leaked. Might be real but I am not convinced yet.
-
So who will forward this to Zeus67/Razbam? First step is to get this bug aknowledged.
-
Hoping for a release tomorrow :) Will be interesting to see at what price-point aswell...

Testing the pod against F/A-18 is not a good idea since ECM is not simulated in that aircraft yet.

Simple way to add a LOT of value to this module...

05:20 F-6 / MiG-19 fire sidewinder AIM-9P Really cool to see it fly together with more modern aircraft such as F-16. -

They are already going to make MiG-19S. Add and align two missile pylons and sidewinders. Profit. At least no extensive coding is needed and you get an airframe that optionally will cover everything from Nam up to conflicts in the 1980’s. Maybe beyond :) Offering a very complete MiG-19 experience. It is just a wish/suggestion. But I think a lot of players would enjoy it. Fits good togheter with upcoming Pakistani JF-17 module. Not to mention flying Egypt AF on the Syria map. -

That is why It would be a great option. Since the focus is MiG-19P fidelity, stretching a bit on the 19S version with IRL "field mod" options like this would make the entire module package very attractive and usable over different conflicts and eras :) LGB's and TGP has to my knowledge never been mounted on MiG-19 (or J-6 wich name you perfer), but american sidewinders has. Both by Pakistan and Egypt. It is a very reasonable and plausible option. And cool. East tech meets West tech. You want to fly CCCP "vanilla" like the original, just don't mount the sidewinders or pylons. Everyone win. -

Really cool picture. Pakistani MiG-19S launching american sidewinder! :) Model of sidewinder unknown but looks like a 9J or 9P. Please Razbam, this would be such a great option for 70's/80's conflicts -
Why would it be removed?

Again, TWS won't solve the issues your having on that map at that server. You are trying to hide on a flat map against superior airframes, sensors and weapons ;) And you think it's tough now.... just wait until the Datalink, SA page and towable decoys come into play. No more hiding at all against F/A-18C. I always fly "vanilla" with default radar settings. Sometimes I change scan up to 80. In close I use the special modes. Because 1: It's effective and 2: It makes me feel special. PM me if you want more tips and tactics on the M2000C. Anyways, let's get back on topic wich is the TWS bug. Acknowledged, reported and will be fixed.

Wow! Looks great!

That is one of the reasons I tend to avoid Blueflag.... and fly AJS-37 Viggen as redfor?
