  1. lol true!
  2. I thought you had to rep 50 other people before giving to the same person? Even if that's not the case, it doesn't seem to be one week, it feels much more!
  3. Su-27 doesn't have slats? :D
  4. F-14 Development Update - Power! Yes. I noticed that. OAT is higher, around 5°C above ICAO standards/standard day. It's a great PDF though, showing the differences between TF30 and F110. One thing I would like to know about the second graph/middle panel is, why did HB not apply ram drag? Not sure if I am blind or what lol, but I don't think ram drag was applied in that situation? Net and gross thrust are basically the same?
  5. Very well done. Gas turbine engine is my area of 'expertise', and I have to say that this text is very well written, with many details showing how things work, but yet, it's simple enough for the general public to understand. :) By the way, the TF30 doesn't have a hyphen between TF and 30 :D (little detail LOL). Here's a bit more information about the F110-GE-400 engines: Length − Overall: 232 inches Nominal Diameter: 45.5 inches Max Radial Projection: 52 inches Weight, Dry: 4494 lbs Weight, Wet: 4592 lbs MAX THRUST: 26,950 RPM: 14,666 (HPC) 8,257 (LPC) SFC: 2,104 AIRFLOW: 261 lbs/s MAX CONTINUOU THRUST: 14,696 RPM: 14,459 (HPC) 8,038 (LPC) SFC: 0,576 AIRFLOW: 245 lbs/s So a quick math shows that the engine at sea level, standard day conditions has a fuel flow of 56,702 pounds in an hour in AB. MAX CONTINUOUS having a Fuel flow (FF) of 8,622. At an altitude of 35,000 at Mach 1.6 the -400 engine produces around 20,966 lbf and has an S.F.C of 2.261, airflow is 268 lbs/s. Thanks for the update!
  6. I worked with him on the AT-27 project almost two years ago, he was always a nice person with me and everyone, always sharing what he knew with us. This is extremely sad. My condolences to his family and our friends, rest in peace Eric. You'll never be forgotten.
  7. Btw, if you guys permit me, I'd like to ask a question about the release build, will the memory leak issue be fixed with the release patch?
  8. I agree. INS is always aligned when flying the Harrier, you don't have to worry about aligning the INS. It's always there working 100%.
  9. Brazilian country has been in DCS for a really long time.
  10. Not everyone has international credit cards to buy modules thru the E-shop on DCS World website. There was also the currency price on Steam, which isn't a thing anymore. :)
  11. And I'm still using 8gb :(
  12. Better resolution here BlazingTrigger:
  13. Some photos of the TF34-GE-400, it's tiny without the nacelle right? :D
  14. Of course. This is a very important element of the Hornet's flight characteristics. (Useful too) :)
  15. DCS 1.5 trees are better right? :)
  16. Manual is much better now. Congrats!
  17. I never complain on this forum, when I do, I get punished :smartass: Sorry but we've been trying to get an answer from Zeus for three weeks now...
  18. MiG-19 has nothing to do with the Harrier so I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.
  19. This is getting a bit ridiculous, the community is asking for a sticky thread and RAZBAM went totally silent after releasing the module. Where is the 'great' communication between RAZBAM and the community afterward? What's going on?
  20. Toggle. On or Off.
  21. there we go... almost 20 minutes of running on treadmill gone away...
  22. This is what happens when you put too much fuel in the combustion chamber! (AgentJayZ footage) Insane flameout, there is even unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust... https://i.giphy.com/l4pT90sWz0I3lQVZ6.mp4
  23. Touching the turkey feathers of the F414 engine in afterburner! The beauty of engine engineering. The turkey feathers don't get hot at all! you can touch them without any problem, even if the engine is in afterburner. The reason is that there is air flowing between the engine and the turkey feathers themselves. They are completely isolated from the jet pipe, composed of titanium and steel. No heat is transferred to the turkey feathers in order to prevent an increase in IR signatures.
  24. Hehe! I personally love the clicking sound of the engine (especially the compressor rotor) when shutting down the engine. Tho it's completely normal, it may sound strange to some people :D The L-39 in DCS has this sound, and it's very cool. Oh, let's not forget the exciters of the ignition system. :) Tac tac tac
  25. Sorry, but is this some sort of joke? DCS looks better than ever. Though we are having issues with memory leak, ED is working on it and it will probably be fixed soon. Remember a few years ago when we had separate clients for; Multiplayer, Singleplayer and the menu itself? Multiplayer was just multiplayer, you couldn't use filters because there were none, look for servers by their names or anything like that, it was just a list and your scroll wheel. Multiplayer had huge issues with desync, so ED worked on the net code, it got better... DCS isn't a perfect game, but it's so much better than before, and getting better each year. DCS evolved a lot... You say you've been flying sims since the 80s, honestly, that doesn't seem to be the case. DCS is, without any doubt, the future for military and flight/combat sim developers. Saying DCS 2.5 looks ten years old is almost an offense. Please, take a look at the past, at what DCS and the previous series used to be. :) It's not all about visuals too, ED has been developing new technologies as well.
