  1. That's simply not true at all. As the first redfor dedicated strike platform and the only Full DCS module Sukhoi jet in the game I think it would generate a LOT of interest. The Mig21 sold extremely well. While not as iconic as the Balalaika I still think the Su-24 would outsell even the Mig21. No it's not about profit it's about documentation, access and legal rights.
  2. Yeah as a platform it couldn't do all the missions a Su-24 could. Considering the great work they've done on the Viggen and the F14 I think Heatblur could pull it off with either plane.
  3. There were so many variants of the F111 too. Which one do you think would fit the Su-24 role best? I would really love the Su-24 (any variant) but I would settle for an F-111 that does interdiction or low level deep strikes.
  4. So, it's been a while since we talked about this jet. Do you guys still think there is very little possibility of it coming to DCS World in any variant? Would you pay good money for it? I would. I'm not big into ground pounding, but specific tactical strike missions would be awesome in this jet. It's fast, it's deadly, it flies at > Mach 1 at treetop levels. What's not to like?
  5. So glad Heatblur are giving us the -A. I mean I still prefer (and will continue to drive) the B but the A opens up a lot of scenarios which are used online where the B is used as a stand in for the Iranian Airforce. DCS is severely lacking in REDFOR aircraft as we all know and another superiority fighter which can (plausibly) serve on the RED side is very, very welcome. KUDOS to the team!
  6. Your own definition of Air Superiority contradicts what you've written here. Air superiority is about ASYMETRICAL combat, I.E. SUPERIORITY. While the C has served in that role, it is definitely not suited to it, especially considering DCS limitations and opponents. I won't even comment on your assertion that the C and the -5 are the same airframe. They might be the same plane, they are definitely NOT the same platform. Whatever this is going way of topic, the I have stated my reasons why the OP should get the 2000C and I still stand by them.
  7. Since you seem to spend a lot of time on the multiplayer servers, then by all means keep your OB installation and get rid of stable. Once in a while some new show-stopping bugs pop up on OB but there is really no reason to keep stable unless you absolutely must have a "relatively" bug free experience.
  8. A lot of people pushing their aircraft of choice. Which is fine I guess. As a newcomer that's coming form the FC3 F15, I think that the Mirage is an IDEAL plane to transition to. It's systems are fairly simple enough that they can be quickly learned and assimilated. It's radar is very user friendly (IMO much better in that regard than the F15s), it carries a relatively light armament that's very easy to use, it has the best FOX1 in the game, it is FBW and very easy to fly and it is pretty much feature complete. Oh and one more thing, this aircraft is no slouch in multiplayer once you get to grips with it. But it is NOT an air superiority fighter, and is not meant to be used as one. Once you figure that out you can do pretty well even on the airquake servers. Learn to pick your fights, fly with wingmen. I'd say go for it.
  9. Maybe someone could make modern Chinese or Indian variants of the Flanker? I mean obviously there is a huge demand for these aircraft, Eagle Dynamics can't make them for legal reasons but what about a 3rd party? Would that be possible? (Oh as for the Hind, I don't care how old it is, this thing is a flying tank it's THE flying tank and as or even more iconic than the Apache)
  10. Ok this is basically how I do it (I use the Rift S) Oculus VR Main > Oculus Tray Tool > DCS World Whenever I alter settings I close down DCS World, so I don't get any wonky effects but you pretty much want to keep Main and Tools running in the background all the time if you intend to fly VR.
  11. I would prefer the Su-24, it's the only strike aircraft I really, really care about. It's old, still in service and still there is no way anyone will even attempt to make one.
  12. Hmmm, roger that. No wonder I was getting kind of strange performance issues :)
  13. Just a quick question regarding PD settings in the Oculus Tray Tool, and inside the actual game. If I set 1.4 PD in the Oculus Tray Tool, and then set 1.4 inside the game options, will this actually add these two together? Should I use one or the other? Or both?
  14. We all have to take into account the continuous software issues with DCS World. I mean this piece of software is really complex. It is being updated very regularly, and is hardly bug free. (Im being very generous here). I'm pretty sure that memory leaks abound in DCS World, and because it is a complex piece of software (especially in a multiplayer, heavy, script-rich environment) these things can and quickly do bring even the best PCs to their knees. I mean throwing newer and better hardware at the problem is only going to take you so far.
  15. Really? Proven? By whom? What exactly? I'm all for wish-lists, even though ED is the least likely developer to implement anything through them, but when people start writing this kind of drivel (sorry there is no other more appropriate word) it's when I stop reading.
  16. No offense ot the OP but this poll is kind of useless. Latest stable and Open Beta should have been separate choices.
  17. No what AMD needs to do is put out cards that either: A) outperform Nvidia's cards, or B) perform at the same level, but at a lower pricepoint. If AMD can get this right for the 6XXX series, then they win this round. It's a simple as that, no need for any shenaningans.
  18. I am really amazed by how many people actually believe that one of the most expensive Air-to-Air missiles ever made was a complete dud in real-life. Oh and it was never maintained because it was never, ever, used (Even though it was).
  19. I agree completely that it would be bad news. Eagle Dynamics has a poor record when it comes to multi-crew. But please, take the unoficial roadmap with a pinch of salt. We need an official source.
  20. Just to pour more fuel on the fire: A few more interesting tidbits at
  21. The Hind is my favorite combat rotary wing. Can't wait. With that said I think a lot of people will be surprised at how close it will "feel" to the Mi-8.
  22. Not sure if anyone has mentioned these questions: Is Heatblur still planning on releasing a standalone map? Is the map going to be included with the F14 module or purchased separately?
