  1. I've been messing around with the P38 in the "other" WWII simulator and I definitely struggle against AI, even the Bf109E....Once it's on my tail I can't get it off. Im probably flying it wrong?
  2. I at least partly agree with the OP on this issue. Most VR devices come with some sort of virtual pointers, hands etc. These work very poorly or not at all in DCS. I use the RIFT S, and would like to use the virtual "hands" to flick switches in the cockpit in an organic manner. By that I mean, i shouldnt have to aim a "lazer" and "shoot" it out of my virtual fingers to flick a switch because this is NOT what the pilot is doing in the real plane. I should be able to move my VR controller in 3d space and organically push or click switches. This level of functionality is something that would greatly enhance my VR experience AND more importantly make it much easier to KEEP at least one hand on my HOTAS. As for the OP's request that ALL the controls work in this way (as in the throttle and stick) Im not sure that it would be feasible or even desirable in a simulation as detailed as DCS World. I don't disagree with it per se, but I don't think it should be a VR priority, unlike the proper interaction with cockpit switches and buttons which definitely should be a TOP priority for implementation.
  3. While it would be great to get the Hind sooner rather than later, I don't think it's productive to get everyone's hopes up with speculation about release dates. Better to wait for some official news.
  4. This is exactly what Im looking for, thank you!
  5. Woah! Now that's pretty impressive. Where did you get that pic from?
  6. How exactly would you do that? I mean you still have to know the general location of some targets, and then you need to fly there without getting shot down (Not easy) but Im more interested in this last part, marking a target so you can come back for a strike. How do you do that?
  7. Guys thanks for the suggestions, but right now all I want is a way to get my mouse cursor (the blue cross I think I've seen it is) to appear in the center of my VR display, so I can bind a single button on my hotas as left-click, so I can look around and click on what Im looking at. Can this be done, and if it can, where do I enable this?
  8. Yeah moving the mouse and clicking on stuff while wearing the Rift is really, and I mean really not doing it for me. It's extremely hard to do while flying and trying to keep hands on stick, especially on modules that don't feature a robust autopilot. I've seen videos of people moving their mouse cursor using their Headset, and then (I assume) clicking on stuff using a prebound button on their HOTAS. How do I set this up?
  9. Thanks for the reply Ironmike, and even more so for the continued patience you present in all of your posts. I feel that the quality of Heatblur's modules speaks volumes, which is probably why people are so curious about whatever you guys are working on or even potentially working on.
  10. Im not a P47 pilot but I don't think enough air flow would pass over the elevators for this to start to happen until the actual tail starts rising off the ground.
  11. I wouldn't get your hopes up. Im not saying that the Hind's AI won't do it's job, but I doubt it will be at the level of complexity Jester is.
  12. Thanks for the reply. Will wait on it. (Or maybe just jump onto the "other WWII sim" bandwagon, at this point Im looking for excuses to keep on playing WWII stuff in DCS)
  13. What does this mean? Does the stick react to forces on the control surfaces or doesn't it? By this I mean does it get stiffer with more airspeed or not? I'm asking because I will not buy a WWII module if it doesn't support FFB. It's simply not an option for me.
  14. Did they implement force feedback stick forces for the p47?
  15. Late to the discussion, but the main thing I have problems with are checklists, start-up, shut-down, different buttons in the cockpit and what they do, radio, comms, radar, weapon selection, etc. etc. etc. One great advantage of clickable cockpits is that you can use them without binding anything. I believe that new players would really, and I mean really appreciate having some kind of nice clear and concise checklist guide (maybe even with some pretty pictures) in the kneeboard for every aircraft. Something along the line's of Chuck's guide but maybe even more simplified and accessible within the cockpit so they can simply active-pause the sim (or not if theyre on autopilot or sitting on the ground) and find the necessary steps to engage whatever system it is they want. Even as an experienced DCS player, with the many breaks I take from DCS I sure as hell would appreciate something like that.
  16. This could very well be the case here. But they would still have to "fill in the blanks" otherwise the FM would probably be quite broken. This is why SMEs are so important.
  17. I will gladly be the guy in front for someone, as long as VR is properly implemented. I don't mind being someone who only occasionally has to do something and is basically just another pair of eyeballs. It will be a nice change from the norm.
  18. Thanks for all the help guys. I've managed to get DCS to run pretty smoothly now, albeit with lower settings than I would like but that's for another discussion. So I have a new problem/issue. How do I load Chuck's guides into the ingame kneeboard and use it in singleplayer/multiplayer? Example: I want to load Chuck's guide for the F14 so it displays in the F14 whenever I bring it up in the module, whether in multiplayer or singleplayer. I need it mostly for start-up checklists so I don't have take off my Rift S. I've never really played around with kneeboards even in 2d, but does anyone know is this even possible?
  19. Classification status has nothing to do with flight model accuracy. You don't "nerf" your flight model if you don't have access to the data, you try to make it as accurate as possible with what you have. No secret service agents are going to knock on your doors if you get it 100% right, thats just not how these things work. It's exactly the opposite of classified systems modeling, where if a system or a certain part of the system is classified then that part is simply disabled or removed. You can't disable or remove a part of an FM, as that would probably break the entire FM.
  20. +1 Weather should be top priority. Also the coloring of the textures, gamma, lighting system all feel like a big step down even from what we had a year ago.
