  1. As I see it the issue is mainly with guided weapons, the pilot should be able to fly the Helo from the back seat while the AI handles targeting with those weapons.
  2. Heh, understatement of the year.
  3. Well to me this discussion is kind of pointless since the most important graphical feature IMO is still at the same level now as it was back in 2017. The weather, or rather the cloud systems. All the promised improvements and features are still MIA.

    FFB

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of getting the P47 but will hold-off until they add FFB.
  5. Take it from someone who has followed the Tomcat F14 development from day one, and has owned the module since day one of early access. I have been an on and off DCS flier for many, many years. (Many more than this most recent forum registration account shows). If there was only ONE DCS World module I would recommend without hesitation, ONE module that you should purchase without a free trial, at full price and with no regrets, then it would be the DCS F14 module from Heatblur. I do not say this lightly, and I have been critical of both Heatblur's and ED's work in the past and will continue to be if it will improve the experience of us users and the end product. One very important caveat: *very important* Please check PC requirements before purchasing this or any other DCS module.
  6. I dont know about the op, but I would like to know about hosting a simple ingame session, with a preloaded mission where a friend could join and we could play together.
  7. Im worried about not being able to see my keyboard and mouse, isn't that an issue?
  8. This is why I love the warbirds in DCS. They pretty much taught me what energy management is how it relates to BFM and just the basics of flying in general. After that experience it's hard to like the FBW jets again. The F14 is a dream come true in that regard, no hand holding, but she still tells you all you need to know without looking at a single gauge. She basically flies like a warbid, but with a lot more "oomph" :)
  9. Im a total newb in VR thinking about getting the S. Can you use the hand controller to "virtually" hit switches and buttons in the cockpit?
  10. Thinking of getting the Rift S (finally), rig specs in my signature. Thoughts on how it would perform?
  11. ...But for the life of me my MSFFB2 feels and flies better with the F14. The numerous buttons and build quality are nice, I have to admit that. However I think Im going to keep the throttle and use the MSFFB2 as my stick. Am I crazy?
  12. Thanks for the reply. Will the pricing be about the same, or will the new GF3 sticks cost more?
  13. Because its the best? Probably the most iconic naval fighter ever designed and produced, and not only because of its looks. Sure it was a maintenance hog early on in its life but with the B upgrades and especially when the D version came along it could do all of the things the Hornet or SuperHornet could do, and then some, and if you look at some real-world reports of the alleged "problems" of the F14 you quickly realize that it's mostly politics and other shenaningans that influenced its downfall and discontinuation instead of real world problems...
  14. Ok, went back and tested for a little bit. It appears that FFB does indeed work however only if the F14 is the first module I try to fly. If I fly any other module first, then the FFB is for some reason disabled in the F14. So....*phew* it looks like I dodged the bullet this time. Thanks for the responses people!
  15. Which OS are you using? (Might be related to me moving to Windows 10)
  16. I would like to purchase the Gunfighter MK II. Pro (bundled with the extension) I am in Europe and tried purchasing through this site: https://flightsimcontrols.com/ Apparently the stick is not in stock. Two questions is the above site legit, and will they bundle the stick with the extension or do I need to purchase it separately?
  17. Would it be possible to check with someone at ED if something has indeed changed with regards to FFB or whether the fault is somewhere on our end?
  18. Just to report back, Force feedback does not work for me either on the F14. I get the shaking effect but no spring effect on the stick. MSFFB2 user.
  19. I've recently upgraded my RIG and re-installed DCS fresh from scratch. Latest OB plus addons including Heatblurs F14. Currently Im experiencing a bug with the FFB effects with the F14. I get the shaking effect through the stick, however I get no, and I mean no spring forces or feedback on the stick. It is essentially for all intents and purposes broken and unflyable. I've tested the FFB on the Spitfire and it seems to work fine there. Please fix. (MSFFB2 user)

    Which is best?

Not sure what the question is. The F14 is in a much more complete state and is a more hands on aircraft to fly. It's also a tandem aircraft, requiring a crew of two. The AI Jester does an excellent job of handling many tasks and is only getting better, but the F14 really shines when flown with another human being in the back seat. (Or the front)
  21. Hi, Due to RL reasons it's been a while since I've been able to spend some time with the Tomcat and DCS, so I was wondering what is the current status of Jester and his ability to operate the radar effectively. Specifically my question is twofold: is the TWS AUTO mode implemented yet? (meaning will the radar automatically adjust the radar cone to keep detected contacts inside the bar scan zone) Does Jester have the ability to adjust the azimuth of the radar yet to keep contacts within the azimuth scan zone when performing maneuvers? If the answer to either or both of these is not yet, is there any ETA on these features? Thank you.
  22. Not sure that this is true. AFAIK auto mode optimises the radar cone for a contact's altitude, changing the azimuth angle while cranking still requires RIO inputs.
  23. So much truth here. It's a testament to it's designers how much of a quantum leap the F14 airframe was compared to anything that came before it.
