  1. Came here to post the exact same thing. Landing difficulty for me: Mig21 - Hard, but if I concentrate and pray real hard I can do it 109K - Piece of Cake Spitfire - Not too difficult, I can manage it most of the time Mig29 (updated FM) - WHAT KIND OF CRAZY UNTAMED HELLBEAST IS THIS? Someone really needs to post a landing tutorial video, I've done Nineline's landing mission like 10 times in a row, and there is no way for me to bring it down in one piece. This is officially the hardest module to land now.
  2. Thanks for the replies I did download Nineline's missions and the .lua file but they are still not showing up. I did finally figure out a workaround as I can access them from the editor but that seems a bit clunky.
  3. Ok can someone PLEASE walk me through into HOW to access those quickstart missions, because Im losing my mind here!
  4. I can't sstart these missions. I've tried Nineline's fix, but now I can't find any of those missions. Where do I need to put those missions? In my users file, or my DCS World MODS directory? I just want a Mig29 cold start mission, and I can't even do that :(
  5. Nevermind just tried it myself. Good stuff, works great with force feedback too. Took me a while to get my bearings again. I've not flown the SFM Mig29 ever, so I can't comment on how it used to be but this bird has energy to climb and turn forever. (Well, for as long as you've got fuel actually) I've tried stalling it out and it's surprisingly hard to do so. Nice little interceptor, now just to wrap my head around the R77s and how to properly use it's radar.
  6. Has anyone tried it with the MSSFB2? (Downloading as we speak)
  7. According to folks over at Heablur, one day before the EA release date. They will also publish a fixed EA release date when they are closer to it i.e. when they are 100% sure they will make it, and they send Eagle Dynamics a release build. *source Heatblur Facebook.
  8. So in short the F14's IFF can identify a friendly, in TWS for example, it's just not 100% reliable? So that automatically leads to my next question, is this modelled in the game? Sounds like it could be a fun little disadvantage if thats the case :)
  9. Any training missions in there? I need to refamiliarise myself with the systems of the FC3 planes. I guess I could do the Su27 missions on radar and missile use? There is not much difference there is there? (Disclaimer: I have never flown SFM planes in any version of DCS World so Im very interested in trying out the Mig29)
  10. Really? Wow....I stand corrected.
  11. Heya Racefuel, im unfamiliar with the "NCTR" acronym. Can you elaborate on what it is and how the F14s IFF differs from it's "younger" brother's? Is F15s IFF less prone to false positives or what? I thought the F14 was kept out of the fight in Desert Storm because of the difference in the Navy's and Air Force's rules of engagement, as well as tasking I.E. it had nothing to do with the ability of the airframe. Anyway with full AWACS coverage the issue becomes void...
  12. What you're seeing is the FBW system which is very similar to the SU27. It's limiting your pitch inputs at extreme AoA. Also, you have a full size joystick? As in the same size as a real Mig29 joystick?
  13. With all the hype surrounding my favorite bird ever coming to DCS world I kind of forgot that I have no idea how IFF works in the F14, or whether it can IFF at all? Can it's radar pick up friendly transponders?
  14. This is going to do wonders for the multiplayer side of things. I can't "snap" salute you guys at Heatblur enough!
  15. Why485 makes a lot of good points here.
  16. The complete F-14A and B Tomcat payload, including AIM-7, AIM-9 and AIM-54 air to air missiles, various dumb and guided air to ground munitions as well as the M61 Vulcan 20mm cannon This is from Cobra himself. Im not sure what exactly constitutes the "complete" payload, but my guess is everything those two airframes carried operationally. Since the F14B is coming first, it's probably safe to assume that we will be getting most of that on EA.
  17. The AIM54A entered service in 1974. Yeah, 1974! the C entered service in 1986. There is no logical, real world reason why the AIM54 would be banned from the servers mentioned in the OP.
  18. It's unfortunate that Charly has stopped doing his guides just before we get the F14. Those things were invaluable to me while I was learning to start-up and operate the different aircraft we have in the sim. The "living document" sounds like it will be great, however no manual could possibly beat Charly's condensed and great guides from a pure usefulness perspective. Here is hoping someone from the community picks up his mantle and torch.
  19. SHE will recieve all armaments on EA launch ;)
  20. I don't know about you guys but Im looking forward to the Meteor soundtrack almost as much as Im looking forward to the F14. That guy has some serious musical chops. :)
  21. Someone mentioned that the AMRAAM also got the p/n update? I seem to have missed this in any of the recent patch notes. You sure about this?
  22. What is LTWS and what is the difference between LTWS and TWS?
  23. There are servers online that restrict the use of the Amraam. Also the fundamentals are the same for all radar guided missiles in the game, whether active or passive, since they are all passive up to a point.
  24. The weather while at times can be very spectacular in 2.5.X, in most partially overcast situations looks a bit iffy. Different cloud types (realistic shapes, and formations) would be awesome. I hope we get those eventually. What watermanpc mentioned in the OP would just be icing sugar on top :)
