The RH hat switch on my Hog throttle is misbehaving and it has always been loose and not too good I'd like to replace the hat with something better, I was looking at the Leo Bodnar but sure there are other solutions available http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=98_87&products_id=210 Anybody know of something that is physically the right dimensions, better quality and will work? Cheers

Quick question I'm in the market for a throttle, my hog is showing signs of age Can the Virpil Software be used to input keyboard characters? or is does it simply cover Dx buttons? Thanks

Look I am the last guy who want's to enter into a spat it's just not my nature AeroGator my comment was not aimed at you far from it. However when I made the comment about CS and support, I was thinking more about the lack of information from VKB and their plans. If an MCG for the Mamba is still in the works that is really great to hear. This is the first I've heard that its not been quietly dropped as I thought it had. VKB have made a Paradigm shift in communications however IMHO it still has some way to go. I have been delighted with the products I have purchased and will continue to purchase (throttle!!!! any News?) I have now taken a large slice of humble pie, I was wrong. It's not CS and support but marketing and information :poster_oops: I would be surprised if I am the only one who believes VKB (and I mean the parent company) are poor when it comes to communicating their future plans and intentions. The Mamba is a fantastic stick, and I shall be using for a long long time to come. I was utterly amazed at its precision in comparison the the Hog which I thought was great simply because I didn't know any better. I do hope that clears things up

You ought to have purchased a Mamba, only been waiting over a year to see if they would produce a MCG for the Mamba, still not holding out any hope, although it was said in the original plan they would. It's very disappointing, their products are first class and I'll still consider their throttle when they get around to it. BUT when it comes to customer service and support, they are sadly lacking Just my opinion

Don't post too often, but getting back into the Viggen and exploring stuff I never got to before It's a terrific module, one of the VERY best IMHO, if a bit quirky in some respects. Terrific work Cobra My biggest gripe is the keybinds, I used Funky Franky's mod but a lot of it no longer works properly, the switches don't "set" and just revert back to their default state. A minor one I'd appreciate is the cockpit lighting to be placed in the keybinds as I don't use the clickable pit so much, I find it a pain with TrackIR, God knows how the VR boys cope.

I'm in the middle of doing one It's sort of similar to the Bailey's for the FA-18C but I've still a long way to go I've yet to look at Radar, attack & weapons as combat is bottom of my priorities Right now I'm looking at Radio and frequency selection, got a crude Auto Start in place (I know, I know the Viggen is the easiest in the game to start), Autopilot and some other odds and ends It also automates, cartridge input and landing field inputs (to a degree) for the CK-37 Just putting a feeler out for it and it would also require either inputting my keyboard file or altering the profile to suit your own keyboard config. If I was putting it up I'd also include some quick and dirty kneeboard pages which also form part of the profile Just a thought

Ahh Thanks I tried a general Google Search but no joy should have did a forum search too, my bad as the Americans say. I've made up, but not yet fully tested, some Voice Attack commands to automate the manual tuning so I can now call for an Airfield and it will set the manual frequency to the relevant tower
-
How do I do this, without resorting to manual input? According to Chuck's guide the radio presets are on the kneeboard Fine but there is no channel 10 It also states that your radio is tuned to the correct channel for the airfield you spawn on Using Takeoff On Runway I cannot establish comms unless going to the preset specified on the kneeboard as the FR22 radio is never set to the correct channel Further there is no channel 10, with ALLM being between 5-6, 9-11 and 15-16 I did manage to get contact with Beslan (channel 21???) by going to ALLM between 5-6 in other words FR24 Channel G But no idea how to contact Gudauta, maybe I'm missing something. If it's impossible why not just say so in the manual

I'm not sure if it's of any use or not but Bailey incorporated a simple add on I made for the Hornet in Voice Attack (he may also have improved it I haven't checked) Anyway with that you can page around then instruct the kneeboard to go to presets. You can set them yourself in VA it's pretty easy. Be happy to help anybody who want's just the kneeboard commands or wants a little guidance PM me (I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination) I never used the kneeboard until I made the script up (it was inspired by Bailey and used some of his code too) now I use it all the time to get airfield info Bailey's mod is here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302954/ The mod can be easily hacked to adjust for different aircraft where different pages are in the kneeboard or if the kneeboard is left the same then the mod would work across different models. Just a thought

Switching Over from Win 7 to 10 In need some advice

Well that could be a game changer for me I'll give it a try HC_Official and report back what happens. Your setup is identical to mine -
Switching Over from Win 7 to 10 In need some advice
Weegie replied to Weegie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That was what I was afraid of Rudel My plan is just to deactivate the modules and do a complete fresh install to Win 10 then always run from there when it's done. Before I do that I need to get all my other software across DCS will probably be one of the last things I install before permanently using Win 10 Changing OS's is a complete pain -
Switching Over from Win 7 to 10 In need some advice
Weegie replied to Weegie's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah I can still boot into 7 no problems at all Many thanks I've never used Skatezilla's toll but it looks pretty interesting and I've already downloaded it Appreciate the advice -
So my I'm in the process of moving stuff from 7 to 10 Both systems are on separate SSD's on the same computer and DCS is on another separate SSD. I'd be running DCS from exactly the same place but I wondered what I need to do swap over from 7 to 10 as trying to access DCS from 10 has been fruitless so far. Do I need to deactivate all the modules in 7 and do a complete re-install to move to 10 or is there and easier way, given I'll still be accessing DCS from the same SSD I'm using currently using for 7 when I switch to 10? Surely somebody has done something similar?

Just wondered, you can mod the Harrier to do this. I wanted to set up a Voice Attack profile that would spool through the radio channels Similar to Bailey's FA-18 VA profile https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302954/ However as you can't use keys to select or scroll through the channels I'm beat In general I find the DCS modules much better for command lines than a lot of the 3rd part developers and wish a little more attention would be paid to it. I guess the thinking is clickable cockpit, keyboard is redundant. However I very rarely use the mouse, I think it's a pain when using Track IR. It's a minor thing I guess, I don't get me wrong I'm having great fun with it and only ask because I use it so much

You were probably using the AI F-18 folder, easy mistake to make. I did something similar too
-
Strange I went through the first 300 posts in the User Files and could not find it either I wonder if it's been dropped or pulled. It definitely was there recently Very odd, hopefully rick will come back on and post a link

Thank you Just downloaded it, looking forward to trying it out later

Really nice skin and unusual (I like unusual) Keeping a watch out for it
-
Ok Thank's Rudel I'll have another look to see if I can figure out why mine aren't working Looks like CHSubZero has pulled some of his skins could not find them in the downloads but I've yet to check the skins section on the forum
-
I have quite a few of these but I noticed when I found out how to select the "G" that none of my skins are working with the exception of the Test Scheme Probably something to do with all the changes to the lighting going on & the lua's need updating (about which I know the basics but that's about it) I'll check through that list it's useful you have the skin maker's name there so it should be easy to search for any I don't have Thanks for that too a little bonus for me
-
Ahhhh Thank you Rudel chw Now I understand and it all becomes clear

As I understand it (& even that could be wrong) the MiG-29G is a downgraded MiG-29A, I think for export. There are separate folders for Liveries for all 3 versions & the only flyable choices are either the 29A or 29C. In fact the 29G isn't listed in the available aircraft at all, either flyable or AI The question I have is can the 29G skins be used for the 29A, or are the templates different? When the 29A is selected you don't see the 29G skins and when I tried putting a 29G skin in the 29A folder it did show on the list of available skins but wouldn't load in the preview window What am I missing here?

Well there you go :megalol: Two countries separated by a common language

Well unless the President's English is different Troll is a mythical creature, I believe it's origins are in Scandinavian folklore. When used in an online environment it has a different, more specific, meaning as already alluded too. Trawling is a method used to catch fish by dragging a baited line (or net) behind a slow moving vessel As far as Wag's comment I am at a complete loss to it's meaning so this is one fish that's too thick to even see the bait let alone take it

It is very hard even with really good hardware. Some people do it with a the Hog stick and I take my hat off to them, I'd have no chance All the advice so far is excellent especially the big 2, don't chase the basket and back off if it all goes pear shaped, settle and try again The thing is it needs VERY small smooth inputs. Input wait and try another. Chase the basket or try and correct quickly only leads to PIO At the end of it good hardware and God knows how long practicing are only really the things that are going to get you good at it. Once it clicks it's awesome Good tutorial here IMHO I use curves too By the way the F-18 is not the hardest aircraft in the sim to Air 2 Air Refuel with :megalol:
