PIMAX Monster 12k, Eyes tracking, INSIDE OUT and Much more !!
Talisman_VR replied to ICARIVS's topic in Virtual Reality
Very much agree with this. I will never go for the scuba mask products and will not be separated from my Pimax 5k+ if I can help it. Very disappointed that other manufacturers have not made good progress with FOV. I am still hanging on for better VR products with acceptable FOV. Can't believe VR headset manufacturers are still not getting a grip on this FOV issue. Happy landings, Talisman -
For me, it comes after the TF-51D and before the WingLoong. The Huey is very long on data because there are numbers 1 to 4 player slots listed. Try this: Start up DCS in flat screen mode with VR devices turned off. Jump in cockpit and adjust your pilot position just a little bit down using the default keys for cockpit camera move down; default key listed under 'controls', under 'view cockpit'. After you have done that, immediately save that position change using the default save key command for save cockpit angles; default key listed under 'view cockpit' commands. Then close down the mission and open it up again fresh (still in flat screen mode) to see if the change you made has saved. If it has not saved then try again. If it has saved, then close down DCS completely and open again in VR with VR devices turned on. You should now see your pilot position a little lower. Now close down DCS completely and search your SnapViews.lua for the Huey. You should now find that your Huey has registered and is listed. If so, then bingo! Now you can make a note of the current VR defaults for player slot 1 and then try the settings I gave you as a starting point, or your own, if you want to. Remember to save the setting changes to the file. Close down files/folders and then fire up DCS in VR mode and see if the changes are good for you. If you want to move the VR pilot position at any time from now on, then shut down the sim and just make small adjustments to the numbers in the SnapViews.lua for up/down, left/right, fwd/back. Trial and error process from now on, but it is very much worth it. I like this method because each time I spawn in I am automatically sitting in my custom position without any further changes needed and my centre VR key always provides me with the correct pilot position I have customised. Good luck and please let me know how you get on. Happy landings, Talisman

The Forgotten War 1950-1953 Korea PvE

Very nice server. Thank you. Enjoyed the Helicopter CSAR rescue missions in the Huey Even managed to pick up my human pilot mate after he bailed out; brilliant! Trouble was I banked over hard after picking him up and he fell out! LOL, I had not closed the doors! Happy landings, Talisman -
This issue was flagged to DCS a long time ago, including for other WW2 types. It is not a fix as they just don't provide it, which is not customer focused at all and the main reason I have not and will not purchase the Mosquito, even at discount. Another thing that is annoying me as a customer is that they are not telling us the mg and cannon convergence setting so that I can use the gunsight as per the real life design function. Apparently DCS are working on the time fuse issue, so we might get bomb fuse timers in due course. Sometimes just the fundamentals take a long time with DCS. Happy landings, Talisman

Hi Caldera, It should be there. It can be hard to find sometimes as there are so many. The UH-1H is near the bottom in alphabetical order and you need paragraph 14 for the VR settings. My settings are below. I changed the default x, y and z settings to my own settings below. Note that y is a minus setting with the minus sign in front (puts me lower in seat). DCS SnapViews.lua Note that x_trans is fwd/back, y-trans is up/down and z-tans is left/right (note minus numbers can be used, for ex to move lower in y-trans) Route to these files is C drive, users, name, saved games, DCS open beta, config, view. Use to custom set pilot head/body position for VR. I use a Pimax 5kplus. If my settings are not perfect for you then make small adjustments to custom your own. I fly the Huey much better now I am lower down in seat and sitting properly in terms of in the centre of the seat. The default settings were too high out of the seat, too far back in the seat and too far left in the seat. Now, when I peep under the VR headset my in-game joystick and real joystick are lined up better and my real seat and in-game seat is lined up too. Good luck and let me know how it goes for you. Huey vr views customised for Talisman: [14] = {--default view - VR viewAngle = 60.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = 0.000000, x_trans = 0.200000, y_trans = -0.050000, z_trans = 0.020000, rollAngle = 0.000000, cockpit_version = 0, Happy landings, Talisman P.S. y_trans amended to -0.050000 on 10th November 2021 to better use the pilot gunsight.

Dear DCS, Would it be possible for you to improve the capability to rescue an actual player pilot with a CSAR helicopter, like in the video below but much improved? At the moment legs stick out of the helicopter and we can't actually get the pilot to climb in and sit in a seat. It would be great to have a key press function to allow for boarding the helicopter properly when the rescued pilot is at the door and for disembarking too. Also, at the moment the pilot of the CSAR helicopter can't actually see the rescued pilot when onboard and inside the chopper. Please provide a facility for us to be able to actually see passengers that we have picked up in the back of the helicopter. It would be a very good feature if you could expand on this capability in a number of other ways for more realism and also trigger the rescued pilot as actually still alive and well in friendly territory and ready to fly again, or if the pilot is injured, then flag up as hospitalised. Thank you for your consideration.

Hi Folks, How about this for some good early jet action? 1965 India-Pakistan war: How IAF's heroes slayed PAF's superior Sabre fighter jets (theprint.in) Would be nice to get a collection of the aircraft in this war together for some Digital Combat Simulation action. Happy landings, Talisman

Not seen much on this lately. I must say that no curves and just 50/60 Y-saturation is working very well for me with MSFF2. What Yo-Yo has said he uses with his MSFF2 works for me. Happy landings, Talisman

Thanks Darrylx444. Appreciate what you say. We are always having to get those candles out I notice, even though we live in the age of electricity, lol. Happy landings, Talisman

Or the developers simply share exactly what convergence they have set for the Mosquito, along with all the other information they provide. Why the secret? Why the problem with communicating this information to the customer? Why not provide information that a reasonable customer would expect to be provided by a reasonable development team? I find it very hard to understand why DCS don't provide this sort of information, but I am only a customer and there is probably a reasonable explanation, perhaps. Happy landings, Talisman
-
Would be nice if the DCS developers would communicate what the guns/cannons convergence setting is so that we can set the gunsight accordingly and use the gunsight as per it's design function. Can any DCS representatives provide this information please? Happy landings, Talisman

Good luck. Just to be clear, my swap axis check box comment was for FF stick (MSFF2). Happy landings, Talisman

Funny, I read the forums a lot and have not seen a response to this topic re the Spitfire and not for the Mosquito either. A link to a response would be gratefully received if there are so many responses readily available. Thanks in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman

Hi Folks, Some of you might be interested in the comments below regarding FF joysticks from our developer Yo-Yo. The comments are in relation to the Spitfire, but may well read across to the Mosquito. Yo-Yo on Spitfire FF Sticks (he uses MSFF2): "The curvatures in pitch for FF is the worse case in attempts to approach to the full-size stick. Try to use Y-saturation it solves the problem. Or use not deep curvature." "And, for sure, no curves fo FF device for pitch. If you find this control too sensitive, just add a linear ~ 50% saturation." "There is a difference in trimming between FF and non-FF. Adding curvature to non-FF does nothing bad because trim just adds a bias to the value from the joystick. For FF-device nothing is added, but the actual force neutral point is shifted." For my MSFF2 I use 50% Y-saturation as the only non default setting. Do need to check the box for swap axis though. Happy landings, Talisman

Seems like it is a big secret, as I can't seem to get the same information regards the Mosquito either. Very strange that the developers are not more forthcoming on this issue. Happy landings, Talisman
-
Many thanks for subject vid. However, unless I missed it, there was no guidance on the gunsight Range and Base Feet settings. Please Bignewy, can you provide the optimum range setting for us to use for the gunsight to match the guns convergence settings. Big thank you in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman

Thanks Eldur, but I am not talking about wanting to configure guns convergence/harmonisation myself. I am simply asking what default guns convergence/harmonisation that DCS have chosen to configure and set for us, so that I can set the gunsight in the cockpit to match. I think that this is a relatively simple request for information that should be made available to customers/pilots. The pilot needs to know how the crew chief has arranged for the guns to be set up on the aircraft so that he can use his gunsight as per the design function. (Please see P38 nose guns example below). Happy landings, Talisman
-
Hi Folks, Here below you can see a harmonisation chart which includes the nose guns for the P38, covering horizontal and vertical convergence. The Mosquito has 8 forward guns with the .303 guns set at a different level to the cannons. If the developers provide us with their chosen convergence for the Mosquito guns/cannons then we can properly set the gunsight to optimise the Mosquito weaponry. Perhaps NineLine or Bignewy will be able to help provide this information? Happy landings, Talisman
-
This is why I have not purchased and will not purchase the Mosquito yet. How long before we get basic historical timed fuses for Mossie bombs in DCS? This year, next year, sometime, never? Meanwhile, other combat flight simulations have provided this historical feature from the start for years and years. Hope we get timed fuses with DCS soon. Happy landings, Talisman
-
To make best use of the gunsight it needs to be set to the physical convergence setting for the guns. Then, when I set the wingspan for the enemy aircraft I am attacking my gunsight display will be married to my physical guns convergence setting. My thoughts are that the gunsight and it's setting options are there for a reason. A pilot needs to know his guns convergence settings to make optimum use of them in conjunction with the gunsight. Happy landings, Talisman
-
Dear Dev's Any information to clarify the default convergence setting you have chosen for the forward guns would be gratefully received; we need this information to set the gunsight convergence me thinks. Also, I might have missed it, but I have not seen any indication of when historic timed fuses for bombs might be made available. Is this being worked on? I only ask because I did not see this issue mentioned in the list of other issues being worked on. Thanks in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman
-
Yes, I am waiting for full confirmation and reported use of historical options for delayed fuse bomb capability before I purchase this aircraft. Happy landings, Talisman
