  1. As a VR user (Pimax 5k+) I too am disappointed with the visuals, which are very lack lustre to say the least This update is a non event for me, which is a shame because I had been looking forward to it and thought I might be tempted to fly DCS more and purchase new aircraft. However, its back to flying other flight simulation titles for me and not interested in purchasing any new DCS aircraft. Happy landings, Talisman
  2. Folks, Some very interesting information here and all historical archive, enjoy: The Secret History of Fighter Aircraft Engine Development in WW2 - YouTube P.S. The dev's might enjoy this one too. Happy landings, Talisman
  3. I have the JetPad (with SimShaker for Aviators and SimShaker for Wings software) and it is great! Fantastic immersion and brilliant with VR. Also great with force feedback joystick and haptic feedback headphones. Highly recommend the JetPad and associated USB mode software. Happy landings, Talisman
  4. Lancaster was used for day time raids, so great, lets have it. There is a market out there for the Lancaster for sure. 3 nice photographs below: Happy landings, Talisman
  5. No autopilot thank you, as this is not historical or realistic and is not needed IMHO. Happy landings, Talisman
  6. Very much this regarding timer-fused bombs! Happy landings, Talisman
  7. Great fun on this server last night (Sat) with 30 odd pilots in combat. The Mig-51 vs Sabre is a great match-up Start time was 1900 GMT. Thank you SeaQuark for this server and for increasing the pilot capacity. Thank you to ACG_VietKong for arranging for so many pilots to take part through the link below. Link for Korea 1952 Discord : https://discord.gg/KqpQSSC Hope to see more folks on this server for events like last night Happy landings, Talisman
  8. Folks, This is a very informative book: Royal Air Force 1939-1945 Vol III The Fight Is Won by Hilary St.George Saunders: Good (1954) | World of Rare Books (abebooks.co.uk) Published by Her Majesty's Stationary Office in 1954, it gives some great information, including Mosquito timed bomb delay fuses for missions including 10 and 11-second delay and also 30-second delay fused bombs. Page 150 explains how for some targets "preliminary tests with instantaneously fused bombs dropped from a height of 2,000 ft gave no results. It proved necessary , therefore, to descend to tree-top level and throw the bomb into the main building..." Page 151 explains how eight to ten Mosquito aircraft attacked targets "flying in pairs, the first armed with 30-second delay fused bombs, the remainder with 10 second." Therefore, I certainly suggest that we need the ability to adjust our Mosquito bomb delay timed fuses from zero to at least 30-seconds. Happy landings, Talisman P.S. Volumes I and II of the above book are also a very good read.

  10. OK, decided to give it a go and purchased this map. FPS around the 50's, sometimes low 60's and sometimes 45 or a little less. I used the instant action free flight sortie as a bench mark. Of course, I have a lot of things turned off or on low settings on the graphics settings in-game. Found the map enjoyable enough during the limited time I have spent flying it so far. My in-game Pixel Density is set to 1.0 Graphics settings below: My rig specs below: Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake CPU, 6 Cores, 3.7 - 4.7GHz, overclocked Case: Fractal Design Define R6 Case - Black Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB Graphics Card CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100x CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus STRIX Z370-F GAMING Memory: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks) OS Drive: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 PCIe Solid State Drive Secondary Hard Drive: Seagate 2TB FireCuda SSHD Hybrid Drive Optical Drive: 24x DVD-RW Drive Power Supply: Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold 850W PSU Sound Card: Onboard High Definition Audio Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Monitor Samsung 2433BW 24" TFT, 5ms response time, Res: 1920x1200 MS FF2 Joystick Thrustmaster VG TWCS Throttle Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals VR Pimax 5k + eDimensional AudioFX2 FF Vibration Headset JetPad powered by Gametrix (with SSA and SSW software)
  11. I could not agree with you more. Puzzles the hell out of me why more attention has not been paid to this to date. Lots of effort into weapon delivery systems for modern fast jet stuff, but WWII aircraft not so much it would appear. Happy landings, Talisman
  12. There are also tactical reasons for using time delay bomb fuses. Happy landings, Talisman
  13. Many thanks for your feedback. As I suspected, no Channel map for me then and that means I am unlikely to purchase the Mosquito either I am really only here for WW2, but not diving in as my flight simulation of choice yet. I will keep watching and waiting. Happy landings, Talisman
  14. Please get back with your thoughts on the map, as I am considering it and would value your feedback. Thanks in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman
  15. Thank you. I will look for it and give it a go. Edit: Great, that worked, very many thanks. Happy landings, Talisman
  16. Just hope we get the basic option to set bomb delay timed fuses as per historical capability. Bombing is what this kite is about, so we need historical ability to set bomb delay timed fuses. Happy landings, Talisman
  17. Although my user name has successfully been changed from 56RAF_Talisman to Talisman_VR, my old user name continues to appear on MP servers when I join This is embarrassing for me as I would not want my poor performance as a PC pilot to reflect on my old squadron, lol. Some help in enabling my correct new user name to be displayed when I join a MP server would be greatly appreciated. Very sorry if I have missed something that I should have done my end. Thank you in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman_VR
  18. Very kind of you Bignewy Many thanks. One last thing though, I just noticed that when I post on the forum, underneath my user name my rank is also shown as my user name. No big deal though as perhaps my real rank should be just a humble erk. I was reading a book the other day and found out the reason for the term erk. Apparently, the RAF officers nick named the rankers erks because in working class dialect when they said the word aircraft it sounded like erkcraft, lol. Happy landings, Talisman
  19. Tried to change my user name from 56RAF_Talisman to new user name Talisman_VR (I have now left 56 Sqn RAF) but instead of changing my user name the system has given me Talisman_VR as rank! Please help me to be able to change my user name to Talisman_VR and not to have my user name as a rank. Thank you in anticipation. Talisman_VR
  20. I am in Europe too and feel similar in that I love the Mig-15, but Korea 1952 is the only server to go and mostly not many folks about. That is the reason I have not flown the Mig-15 for a very long time. Perhaps that will change in 2021 though. We are lucky to have the Korea 1952 server, but I wish there was more folks interested in Korea and the Mig vs Sabre match up. I might dust off the Mig-15 over the coming weeks to see how things are going. Happy landings, Talisman
  21. Please go back to old format. This new format is a complete mess! Old format not broke so why try to fix? Better things for team and developers to do in other areas that customers want I would have thought.
  22. Nice try at some deflective script there, LOL, but the bottom line is that not all loadout options are controlled from the cockpit, so why not have the appropriate loadout options, including timed fuses for Allied aircraft, available in the loadout options drop down menu? As I say, the impression given to me is that the development team are not bothered and I think that is a great shame. Especially as lots of folks are eagerly awaiting the Mosquito and customers owning other Allied warbirds are being short changed in this respect and have been for some considerable amount of time. How much longer? Happy landings, 56RAF_Talisman
  23. LW have had delayed fuses for years, but the Allied side not allowed them. Speaks volumes and not so good if you are a customer for the Spit, P51, P47 and the upcoming Mosquito. Great if you own LW aircraft, but I don't as I am not a fan of those aircraft. I suggest that 'at this stage' we should have had historical delayed fuses for the Allied aircraft as well. The neglected detail and functionality of the Allied aircraft in this respect is disappointing, to day the least! Others may be content with this consistent capability deficit that we have put up with for years, for the Allied side only, but I find it less than impressive and rather odd as it gives the impression that the development team are not bothered. Happy landings, 56RAF_Talisman
