  1. Thanks MAXsenna. Happy landings, Talisman
  2. Many thanks. For me the default setting appears to work best. Happy landings, Talisman
  3. So now I am still confused as I found this on the internet from 3 years ago: "It should really be called Joystick without springs and without ffb. Default is the one you want if you use a ffb stick." Still going round and round with this one. Anyone have a definitive answer? Default appears to be working great for me at the moment so I will stick with that, but I sure wish DCS could simply state which one is best for a FFB stick. P.S. Also found this: Also in special menu you should set the way of trimming. There is just default mode which is good for joysticks with the FFB. Then the central position trim mode which will "freeze" the in-game controllers until you center your input cotrnollers. This will fix the bumps when releasing the trim button. 4. Many thanks for the translation. Shame DCS is not communicating in plain English, LOL. Hope your understanding is correct. Happy landings, Talisman
  5. Strange, as that option says for stick without spring and FF. Thing is, I fly with FF. So I have been using the default option. Thanks for getting back to me. Happy landings, Talisman Interesting. I will pass on this link to my friend who has just purchased the Apache. I only fly the Huey and unfortunately this vid did not directly answer my question. But thanks anyway as it was interesting. Happy landings, Talisman
  6. Hi Folks, I use a MSFF2 joystick with the Huey and am confused by the trimmer mode options. Which trimmer mode setting should I be using under the special menu? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thankyou. Happy landings, Talisman
  7. I use a modified Saitek throttle quadrant. Please see picture below. I extended one of the levers with a light tube (plastic, or in my case bamboo). This sits down the left of my seat and is clamped to the bookcase on the left of my seat. Can't get used to using my fixed wing ac throttle as I keep moving it the wrong way due to muscle memory flying fixed wing. This set up works brilliantly for me and is very, very cheap and easy to set up. Happy landings, Talisman
  8. Like your suggestions Kamov32. Big thank you to server admin team. Great server. Happy landings, Talisman
  9. I have just started the free trial period for the Tomcat and I am loving it. I use a MSFF2 joystick and the FF is brilliant. I also use a JetPad/JetSet with SimShaker for Aviators software which, combined with the FF joystick, haptic headset and VR is extremely immersive indeed. Especially in a guns dogfight. I think the dev's have done a great job with this aircraft. I will be going for full purchase on this one. Thanks for getting back to me regarding FF lunaticfringe, much appreciated. Happy landings, Talisman
  10. Thanks again speed-of-heat. Loving this bird. Think I will go for purchase. My partner in the back is great and I love his sense of humour, lol. Lots to learn on this one yet for me and very much enjoying the handling in flight. Great fun and puts a smile on my face. Happy landings, Talisman
  11. Thanks. For the life of me I could not find that, talk about having a senior moment, lol. Many thanks for you kind assistance. Salute! Happy landings, Talisman
  12. Many thanks for getting back to me. Salute! Happy landings, Talisman
  13. Hi Folks, Thinking about trying the Tomcat, but I use a MS2FF joystick. Does the Tomcat model support force feedback for joysticks? Thanks. Happy landings, Talisman
  14. Hi folks, Is the Tomcat available for free trial at the moment? Looking, but can't see how to download as free trial from the website. If it is available, what are the steps to get free trial? I can only find guides for free trial for Steam, but I don't use Steam. Thanks. Happy landings, Talisman
  15. Very much agree with you Devil 505. There is a lot that could be done to upgrade this lovely helicopter. Also, it would be great to be able to view passengers in the back and see them get in and out of the helicopter when we pick them up and drop them off. Happy landings, Talisman
  16. All sorted. I am now fully updated to the latest version and my original settings were saved. Thanks for responding. Loving SSA, it is absolutely brilliant! Happy landings, Talisman
  17. Thanks. I will download the previous versions first then and then go for the latest version. That might get things working for me. Happy landings, Talisman
  18. Thanks Andre, Does the previous versions folder include the latest version as well then? Tried the 13th Nov version on its own but just will not work for me. Happy landings, Talisman
  19. Sorry but that did not help answer my question. I tried downloading the bottom file (13th Nov) on its own but that did not work and trying to understand why the term 'previous versions' is used on the top folder; why would I need previous versions? It is rather confusing. Still getting no joy trying to update and having to stick with old version 1.3.13.0 for now. Happy landings, Talisman
  20. Hi Folks, Quick question if I may. I am here: SSA stable - OneDrive (live.com) To update my current version, do I download the 'previous versions' dated 6 Feb and also the 13th November file, or just one of them? Or top one first and then the bottom one, or the other way around? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I don't want to mess things up and find I have lost my current out dated version and all my custom settings. Happy landings, Talisman
  21. Hi f410,

I am trying to update SSA version 1.3.13.0 to the latest stable version.

My problem is that when I download the new version it is named as

"Unconfirmed 166729.crdownload", size 4,720 KB in my download box but I can't run it.  When I right click on the download it will not give me an option to "run".

How do I run the file?

I get the feeling something is wrong.  Are you able to help?

    Happy landings,

    Talisman

  23. I have not tried the aerobatics server as I did not think aerobatics was such a thing for the Huey, but I will log on and give the aerobatics server a go in the Huey soon. Yes of course, MP and SP should work the same in principle in terms of the Huey radios and geographic navigation beacons, etc, but I would have thought that how missions are scripted by the mission maker might give rise to differing circumstances. Happy landings, Talisman
  24. Yes, works great with the Elbrus Rescue mission All seems to work well for SP missions, but I am very much into flying on MP servers and that is where I am having problems getting the navigation equipment to work as per training videos. Perhaps it is something to do with the mission scripting, particularly on MP servers where helicopters are something of an afterthought. Happy landings, Talisman
