Funny, I read the forums a lot and have not seen a response to this topic re the Spitfire and not for the Mosquito either. A link to a response would be gratefully received if there are so many responses readily available. Thanks in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman

Hi Folks, Some of you might be interested in the comments below regarding FF joysticks from our developer Yo-Yo. The comments are in relation to the Spitfire, but may well read across to the Mosquito. Yo-Yo on Spitfire FF Sticks (he uses MSFF2): "The curvatures in pitch for FF is the worse case in attempts to approach to the full-size stick. Try to use Y-saturation it solves the problem. Or use not deep curvature." "And, for sure, no curves fo FF device for pitch. If you find this control too sensitive, just add a linear ~ 50% saturation." "There is a difference in trimming between FF and non-FF. Adding curvature to non-FF does nothing bad because trim just adds a bias to the value from the joystick. For FF-device nothing is added, but the actual force neutral point is shifted." For my MSFF2 I use 50% Y-saturation as the only non default setting. Do need to check the box for swap axis though. Seems like it is a big secret, as I can't seem to get the same information regards the Mosquito either. Very strange that the developers are not more forthcoming on this issue. Happy landings, Talisman

Many thanks for subject vid. However, unless I missed it, there was no guidance on the gunsight Range and Base Feet settings. Please Bignewy, can you provide the optimum range setting for us to use for the gunsight to match the guns convergence settings. Big thank you in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman

Thanks Eldur, but I am not talking about wanting to configure guns convergence/harmonisation myself. I am simply asking what default guns convergence/harmonisation that DCS have chosen to configure and set for us, so that I can set the gunsight in the cockpit to match. I think that this is a relatively simple request for information that should be made available to customers/pilots. The pilot needs to know how the crew chief has arranged for the guns to be set up on the aircraft so that he can use his gunsight as per the design function. (Please see P38 nose guns example below). Happy landings, Talisman

Hi Folks, Here below you can see a harmonisation chart which includes the nose guns for the P38, covering horizontal and vertical convergence. The Mosquito has 8 forward guns with the .303 guns set at a different level to the cannons. If the developers provide us with their chosen convergence for the Mosquito guns/cannons then we can properly set the gunsight to optimise the Mosquito weaponry. Perhaps NineLine or Bignewy will be able to help provide this information? Happy landings, Talisman

This is why I have not purchased and will not purchase the Mosquito yet. How long before we get basic historical timed fuses for Mossie bombs in DCS? This year, next year, sometime, never? Meanwhile, other combat flight simulations have provided this historical feature from the start for years and years. Hope we get timed fuses with DCS soon. Happy landings, Talisman

To make best use of the gunsight it needs to be set to the physical convergence setting for the guns. Then, when I set the wingspan for the enemy aircraft I am attacking my gunsight display will be married to my physical guns convergence setting. My thoughts are that the gunsight and it's setting options are there for a reason. A pilot needs to know his guns convergence settings to make optimum use of them in conjunction with the gunsight. Happy landings, Talisman

Dear Dev's Any information to clarify the default convergence setting you have chosen for the forward guns would be gratefully received; we need this information to set the gunsight convergence me thinks. Also, I might have missed it, but I have not seen any indication of when historic timed fuses for bombs might be made available. Is this being worked on? I only ask because I did not see this issue mentioned in the list of other issues being worked on. Thanks in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman

Yes, I am waiting for full confirmation and reported use of historical options for delayed fuse bomb capability before I purchase this aircraft. Happy landings, Talisman

Very many thanks jocko417. Good of you to respond amongst all the excitement. Happy landings, Talisman

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
Talisman_VR replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi f410, A quick question for you if you would be so kind. When do you think we might be able to feel the rumble in the Mosquito cockpit with your fantastic SimShaker? Thank you in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman -
Hi jocko417, Glad you are enjoying it. One small question if you would be so kind. Do you have time delay fuse options for bombs? Thanks. Happy landings, Talisman

Is ED letting down their VR customers?? Yes I'm venting!
Talisman_VR replied to RackMonkey's topic in Virtual Reality
It is a hell of a learning curve RackMonkey and I know sod all about computers. I have spent many hours reading and researching and testing and then tweaking with each update for this and that. All I can say is that I now have what I consider to be a very good VR experience and I am very happy, but I am not qualified to give advice or help as I am no expert and things are constantly changing. I felt I was taking a risk with VR but it worked out for me in the end. I find that there are no easy answers I am afraid. Good luck. Happy landings, Talisman -
correct as-is P51- insufficient shot damage

Here (please see link below) are some real life tracks involving a number of FW 190 incidents that show some of the real life effects I think we are looking for: Incredible WWII Gun Cam Action | Military.com Happy landings, Talisman -
Me too. No historic bomb fuse timers then no purchase. Happy landings, Talisman

Thanks Neal, yes co-pilot OK but loadout not included for door guns even though door gunner positions available, just like co-pilot. Happy landings, Talisman Thanks Guile, will do. Happy landings, Talisman

Good thread DishDoggie, I can relate to a lot said here. Loving VR and find it difficult to cope with flat screen flying when my group wants to fly a particular flight sim that has not yet made the change to VR. For me, VR has revolutionised flight simulation and I am indeed a VRI pilot. Happy landings, Talisman

DishDoggie, Not sure if you have seen my post above from Jan 22nd, but here it is again. Tree-top level is easily 50/60 feet in Europe. You may wish to read up on this and reconsider your post above. Also, I think by now you will have had time to look at the historical movie posted above by PhoenixFR. Happy landings, Talisman Folks, This is a very informative book: Royal Air Force 1939-1945 Vol III The Fight Is Won by Hilary St.George Saunders: Good (1954) | World of Rare Books (abebooks.co.uk) Published by Her Majesty's Stationary Office in 1954, it gives some great information, including Mosquito timed bomb delay fuses for missions including 10 and 11-second delay and also 30-second delay fused bombs. Page 150 explains how for some targets "preliminary tests with instantaneously fused bombs dropped from a height of 2,000 ft gave no results. It proved necessary , therefore, to descend to tree-top level and throw the bomb into the main building..." Page 151 explains how eight to ten Mosquito aircraft attacked targets "flying in pairs, the first armed with 30-second delay fused bombs, the remainder with 10 second." Therefore, I certainly suggest that we need the ability to adjust our Mosquito bomb delay timed fuses from zero to at least 30-seconds. Happy landings, Talisman P.S. Volumes I and II of the above book are also a very good read.

Automatic view to gunsight (can you remove it?)
Talisman_VR replied to Hummingbird's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
I think that you will find an option to turn off/on 'auto lean to gunsight' somewhere; I think it might be under the 'special' list. Hope that helps. Happy landings, Talisman -
Thanks, I will wait to see if 'probably' and 'hope' comes to fruition. I will wait for confirmation of historical time delayed bomb fuses and be happy to pay full price later on to make sure I am not sold short. Happy landings, Talisman
-
I too am waiting for confirmation of the provision of historical delayed fuses for bombs before placing an order. Happy landings, Talisman

Hi Folks, I purchased the Huey last week, but can't find a MP server that allows me to have door gunners as a loadout. The loadout screen just will not provide the door gunners as an option, even though MP servers allow crew positions for human door gunners. Such a shame that my friends and I can't get in the door gunner seat as a human player in MP. Anyone else having trouble getting door gunners as a loadout option in MP? Am I missing something about the loadout screen? On a happier note, the Huey is my very first helicopter and I must say that I am blown away by it Especially as I have a force feedback joystick, a JetPad with SimShaker software and VR. Can anyone recommend a MP server that provides for great Huey flying in a variety of roles and the chance to fly with other Huey pilots? Happy landings, Talisman
-
Quick question. Will the Mosquito model include force feedback? Hope so for the sake of all FF joystick owners Happy landings, Talisman
