Yes, I believe that was the one!

My issue with the USB ports is solved - thus far! No USB crashes. Seems it was a very large Windows-10 update, which took about 3 hours to DL and install. Once Windows rebooted my computer several times, I logged in and Windows started to auto update my USB ports and plugins and installed my Warthog and other peripherals. Anyhow, thanks for your help gentlemen! Good day, DrDetroit

Actually, you read my mind! I'm installing an large Win10 update now - fingers crossed! I'll post if it fix it, just in case anyone else in future has same issues.

Good day everyone, So a recent issue just manifest itself whereby while in DCS my 3.0 USB ports will just turn off, killing my head tracking and HOTAS and anything else plugged in. 2.0 USB are not affected, although I have only a few 2.0 ports. This happens in the non-beta Steam version. I just uninstalled/reinstalled the Steam and stand alone versions to no avail. The stand alone was having same issue but not as prevalent. I made sure that power management turned off in Device Mangler, ect. No changes, no installs, just all of a sudden as of last evening out of nowhere. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Good day, DrDetroit

Hey, thanks for the quick heads up! I'll grab the latest....I must have downloaded the older version. No hassle at all! Thanks for your work.

I'm having an issue with Mission-2. During cold start, a helo flies in (MH-53 maybe?) and land right on cat-3 runway, so my wingman can't take off. I took a quick look at it in ME and didn't see any waypoints for the helo, so assume it's a script or trigger. Kind of a bummer lol. Good day, DrDetroit

Actually, my bad....it talks about g-limiters that limit pilot to about 9g IN 1.5 seconds...not FOR 1.5 seconds. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but 9G for 30 seconds seems waaay too long, but maybe you are correct. Seems would be more like 5-10 seconds at 9X gravity.

An interesting article about this is Air Force Magizine. Many have probably already read this - but seems if you can't sustain 8G for several seconds before G-Lock in the F-16 this would seem very off. Basically it points out that today's pilot can sustain about 9G for about 1.5 seconds in the F-16, or similar "high agility" aircraft. I don't own the F-16 but can pull about 9G before G-Lock sets in the F-14B -seems about right. Anyhow, here is the link: https://www.airforcemag.com/article/1091glock/ Good day, DrDetroit Anyhow, an interesting read

I gotta get me a VR headset...the experience I hear is fantastic, and you, OP, confirmed that again. Although I'm going to have to lock my game room door, as I don't want my girl seeing me with a box on my head though. VAICOM? Going to have to check that out, same with VoiceAttack, which I don't use yet, but thinking about it so I can talk to Jester. Thanks and good day! DrDetroit

This script looks really cool! Rescue helo that will be on station, ready to pickup pilots that have ejected. Has anyone tried to implement this in a mission? Wondering if it works. Good day, DrDetroit

100% agree with jmarsp. I mean, do Majors actually fly in combat at that rank? Probably NO! Also, seems you can only obtain one of each medal. That seems kinda goofy as well, they should stack...esp the Purple Heart! Anyhow, F4 BMS probably has the best logbook in the sims I fly. DCS logbook needs a bottom to top revamp, with more precise data, and stacking medals. After all, to a pilot, virtual or real, combat or civilian, the logbook is important stuff!! BTW: surprised there's no mod for better logbook. Is there inaccessible data in DCS to create a mod or some other issue? Good day! DrDetroit

I can turn down Jester just fine - yea, he is ear drum splitting loud - The Who live loud! Not sure why you guys can't turn him down though. Self-evident, however, check your ICS control panel, turn the volume dial to the left (far left dial).

I typically purchase my modules from Steam, and then transfer module to stand alone if I want to fly the stand alone version (only because my Nevada map is on stand alone - not purchased via Steam). This way I have both if needed. However, I typically fly the Steam version, unless I need my Nevada map. I like that Steam monitors my DCS hours, as sometime it seems the pilot log isn't accurate and DL is much faster, as stated above. I just prefer the Steam interface. Anyhow, my $0.02 worth! Good day! Under What Circumstances Will AIM-54's NOT Fire?
DrDetroit replied to Bearfoot's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I just had the same thing happen today. TWS AUTO, first contact highlighted, target numbers assigned for AIM-54, pull trigger...nothing. Not sure, but I ended up locking in STT eventually and launching (via Jester wheel), then knife fight due to not being able to launch at 25nm,. Also, after that, Jester started constantly pushing buttons...click click click click, like a typewriter. It went away after 10min, but man that was a pain in the butt. Good day! DrDetroit -
Need help with entering waypoints IN cockpit please?
DrDetroit replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hi guys, Just curious, what scenario would you need/want to add waypoints during flight? I typically setup everything in the mission setup/planner, and that is it. Is it if you fly over something of interest? If so, can't the RIO just mark it with the TID? Thanks in advance! Good day, DrDetroit -
Hello everyone, I was just curious if there are plans for a better comms menu for communications with your wingmen, AWACS, ect? As it is now, and has been since the beginning, it's currently bare bones and extremely limited. I'm thinking something with functionality like that found in F4 BMS, which has every request you could need from AWACS, your flight, and other elements, during a mission. Also, AWACS, and your wing in general are much more active with SA callouts. There should be additional AWACS requests, like 'vector to bogie', 'vector to element', 'vector to nearest airbase' etc. Right now it's extremely limited. Also, same with flight and wingmen requests that are missing like 'what's your posit?', 'what's your fuel/status?' etc. Again, as it is now, it's bare bones minimal. Anyhow, just seems this is something that would have been implemented awhile ago. Is there any plans on upgrading the comms menus to be far more functional? Thanks and good day! DrDetroit

After the 5-day free trial I was going to buy the F-14B, great module, just love it. But I ended up buying the F-18C and Persian Gulf map, both of which I wanted as well. The discount was too good for those modules to not take advantage of, both of which cost less than the F-14C (Steam). I'll pickup the F-14 next weekend though...best module I've flown to date, to my surprise. F-14 then F-16C, which is my favorite all time fighter, but I keep reading the module is far from complete. So I'll wait a bit for that one, and get acquainted with the F-18C and F-14B modules for awhile. Good day! DrDetroit

Free Trial June 19th to 25th - Tomcat and Viggen!
DrDetroit replied to IronMike's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I tried this module during the free 5-days that just ended, and just gotta say this is the best module that I've flown yet (close second is the huey). The plane is alive and seems to have a lot personality; such a joy to fly! Great job Heatblur! I'm actually amazed how much I love this module, as I was skeptical about an old interceptor with steam gauges everywhere (but she is pretty, ain't she!). On a side note; I just bought the Hornet last night, and although nice, it's slow compared to the F-14, sterile (FBW) and kinda generic. I just missed my Tomcat the more I flew the Hornet. I only purchased it 'cause it's 50% off and it's a plane I want as well (bought the Hornet and Persian Gulf map for $60 on Steam) - although gonna buy the Tomcat next week for the long 4th of July weekend. Anyhow, just had to say great job Heatblur, excellent module...love it. Good day! DrDetroit -
I was looking for Art Bell's home in Pahrump (rip), but the Chicken Ranch is way better! Good day, DrDetroit

I get this stutter/lag as well, but it's very prominent with the standalone 1.5 beta - unplayable really. Seems it's only my F-15C is suffering from this issue, no issues with SU-27, Huey, M2000C (haven't tried the A-10C). My Steam beta 1.5 is much much smoother, but still a tiny bit of lag when operating the throttle and/or pedals at first - and only when taxiing. Very smooth game play otherwise with Steam beta and this small lag issue only happens with the F-15C module. So I just fly the Steam beta version instead due to standalone issue controller lag. No issues at all with 2.0 Alpha and NTTR. Smooth as silk. Good day, DrDetroit

F15 Campaign Mission 6 - Strike on Modzok
DrDetroit replied to Steelhawk's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Can't you adjust the loadout in the loadout menu or have the maint guys change the loadout prior to your startup? I've not made it to Mission-6 yet, gonna fly mission-5 tonight. In any event, I'm pretty sure you should be able to adjust the loadouts. Good day, DrDetroit -
Ahh, thanks for the explanation and link Dee Jay. Makes sense. Good day, DrDetroit

Two "flight safety" critical features missing in the F15C
DrDetroit replied to MikeMikeJuliet's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Way better ATC would help a lot as well...something like BMS with active ATC once you're inside 30-miles (flight has to call for inbound first before ATC will put your flight in an approach slot). That AI ATC will direct you all the way in and put you in a holding pattern if other AC are in front of you before you are cleared for final - fairly amazing. Anyhow, hope they work out better AI ATC with the new comms, along with more accurate ILS. Good points made OP. DrDetroit
