  1. Hi guys, When I have a bogey targeted and I request my AI wing to attack, does the wing attack my unlocked target or he just goes for the closest contact? Hard to tell when in the heat of things. Seems in a a/a setup I have against 2 SU27s, I lock the guy pointed at me, and seems that the wing goes after the same guy after requesting he engage...leaving the 2nd bogey to launch at me. Seems he should go for the unlocked contact. Maybe I should request the wing to cover me instead? Thanks in advance! DrDetroit
  2. Yup, just confirmed I get the long and short commands without the TM software. Good day, DrDetroit
  3. Yup, I'm pretty sure I have long/short holds incorporated w/out the TM software. I'm going to jump in the A-10C and will check in a few. The only thing I remapped with the A-10C were the view hat (now for trim since I have track IR), think that was all. Curious now.
  4. Love the M2000C. Paid $49.99 on Christmas day and very happy about that. Good day, DrDetroit
  5. Ha, pretty cool! Question; do you have MKII eyeballs on the guy or you just happen to see him when he was pumping flares? I was looking hard during the vid and couldn't see anything other than the smoke plume from the F-15s first shot (nice dodge BTW) and then later the flares...other than that I couldn't get a tally on the guy visually at all. Could be youtube compression killing the visuals. That's the hard part for me, getting eyeballs on the target is difficult, even when locked. Seems you can't see anything ever past 5nm-8nm or so, except the smoke plums and flares. Thanks for posting. DrDetroit
  6. Ah, I though you did have a TM Warthog. To be honest, don't recall - what's holding the china hat forward do? I think that's only comms, so don't need to HOLD the key press for a secondary action. I'll have to check that...but I don't think the china hat has two function IRL..could be mistaken. To your point though, I think you have to have the software for secondary function to work...not sure as I actually don't fly the A-10c too often as of late and again, never needed two functions on one button - yet. There are a few buttons in BMS that need dual purpose, but I can set those keys in the BMS config. Anyhow, I think you are correct that in many situation where you need more than one function on one button you'd need the TM software. I might play around with that software later this week...simply because I hate having to reassign all the controls every update or when a new mod is installed. That to me is the biggest advantage I can see. All this talk of HOTAS, I'm going to use mine right now!! Good day! DrDetroit
  7. Man, you're one hell of a pilot! Good work! DrDetroit
  8. Well I use the cockpit for all my avionics needs and switchlogy. Really never needed two functions on one button or switch. The A-10C is pretty much pre-configured for the TM Warthog, everything else is on the instrument panels. For the F-15, SU-27 and M2000c I try to get as close to the real hotas as I can, but I make sure all primary radar, CMS, TMS and DMS switches are programmed on my HOTAS. Then gear and secondary flight avionics for whatever space is left on my TM. I suppose it's user preference though, so there is no right/wrong way, as long as it works for the user. BUT, the TM software does f up some binary functions as you found out. Good luck! DrDetroit
  9. I've never found a need for the TM software at all in any of my sims. Really don't understand the need for the complexity either. Not to say there isn't one, I just haven't found the need for it in any sims I fly (BMS, ROS and DCS). I tried to set it up when I first got my TM almost a year ago, but geez...frustrating to say the least and caused conflicts with some sim keybindings set in-game that I could not fix (like micro stick not being recognized). So uninstalled and never looked back. To each his own, but I think it's a lot of work to setup that software than it's worth. Good day, DrDetroit
  10. Man oh man, the BMS guys probably have more hard to get data and working knowledge on FMs and systems than most civilian flight sim companies - combined! Also with lots of respect in the high-fidelity flight sim community as well! So not a discredit in any way, shape or form, but an advantage...a huge advantage. I swear, these rivet counters really get on my nerves sometimes... Like JoJo said, think before you write! Good day, DrDetroit
  11. I have the TM Warthog and have the TDC assigned to the micro stick. I program it via DCS axis binding, then I set the curve to be a bit more flat via saturation settings (I think it's saturation - not in the program right now - top right slider setting in Axis Tune in DCS.). It's waaay too sensitive otherwise. PS: I do not use the TM software. I set keybindings via the software always (BMS4.33, DCS all versions, Rise of Flight)...less complicated and no conflicts. Good luck, DrDetroit
  12. Great Module Razbam and crew. I'm very pleased with it and happy I bought it on Christmas day for $49.99. Good price for quality product. Finally a clickable pit in a modern fast mover with radar suite!!!! I'm just doing performance and familiarization trial tests right now, have not fired a missile yet. Will setup drones at NTTR later today for some missile testing. I do get the fact that there are a few things in need of implementation. That's fine with me and of no surprise at all since you guys did make this part crystal clear. Love it guys! Thanks for releasing! Good day, DrDetroit
  13. Far as I understand it, the INS is simply an alignment system the AC uses to coordinate the GPS with the AC nav system - so the satellites know your current location at ramp start thus knowing where you are during flight which gives the Nav mode your current location at all times. All you do in the pit is turn it on and wait for the alignment to complete before moving/taxiing the AC. In the F-16C block 50 models it takes about 7-8 minutes to align. You have the INS alignment implemented in the A10C as well - just sit and wait, don't move the AC, until INS is aligned and calibrated. Not much to do to implement the INS except to turn it on and wait. Good day, DrDetroit
  14. Just DL'd my copy, haven't flown yet but did take a peek at the pit and outside views - very nice! Can't wait to give it a go in a bit. Great timing with the release too Christmas weekend! Thanks and Merry Christmas, DrDetroit
  15. Hope it has a interactive cockpit. Would be disappointing if otherwise. Merry Christmas! DrDetroit
  16. Hey guys, I've scanned the inputs in the sim and could not find the below key bindings. Please enlighten me. So is it possible to set the alt to radar mode so I'm getting AGL instead of alt readings above MSL? Makes it a pain to figure out alt above ground level during low level maneuvers with the default MSL alt setting. Also, possible to set QNH? I believe this setting is alt above airport I'm departing from and arriving? The ATC give the proper QNH setting, but how to input? One more; F-15C pilots don't fly with NVG at night? Could not locate anything in this regard in the keybindings. I figure this is standard equipment for any night ops. Thanks in advance and good day! DrDetroit
  17. Check out Rachel Nevada and stop by the Lil-Aliee-inn. A cruise around Groom Lake with yield some interesting finds as well. There is a big spider near Rachel as well...Easter Egg I suppose. Good luck! DrDetroit
  18. Fantastic vid by Bunyap - as they all are. I've been to many of those locations many times over. I'm happy to see DCS really threw in some nice details with NTTR as it's nice to see many places that I've actually been too - from Rachel and Tonapah, Hoover dam, to the Bellagio etc. I think the Valley of Fire could use more red though...that place really sticks out from it's surroundings. Good day, DrDetroit
  19. You can take a tour of that crater IRL and most of that area. That crater so friggin huge you wouldn't believe it. I think the Apollo guys trained there as well. Good day, DrDetroit
  20. Wow..just wow. This has been answered over and over and over in about 15 threads right under this one. There will be 15-more threads with this same question by the end of the day. Oh and the "do I have to pay for Nevada?" also...geez peeps. Read the boards or do a search first. DrDetroit
  21. The mission is starting earlier than your flight. I had this issue on a few mission I made, took me forever to correct it. Make sure you takeoff time is the same as your mission start time (when the scenario starts) and the day is the same as well - all the start times and day (0-365) have to match. That was one of my problems, that my flight was day 330 and the scenario started around day 157...so I would have to wait months for the mission to start. Good luck, DrDetroit
  22. You have the 1.2.16 version. The next version is the 1.5.2 update to that install (brings 1.2 to 1.5 beta). Then you have 2.0 which is the Alpha release but you need to buy the NTTR map to use 2.0. So in a nutshell: 1.2 full release 1.5 Beta - Beta version upgrade to 1.2 ( I updated my 1.2 to 1.5 via Steam - so I have no 1.2 any longer - if you have separate install of 1.2 outside of Steam, then I think you can do a separate install of 1.5 - thus having these two version on you desktop at same time). 2.0 is Alpha release of the new DCS. Again, you need to purchase the NTTR map to fly it. Hope this makes sense. Good day, DrDetroit
  23. Yup, shutting off my Avast did the trick. That's odd, never had that happen before. Thanks for the tips guys, DrDetroit
  24. When I try to pick a SU-27 from USA via the drop down menu in the mission setup, it's not showing up in the menu...only American AC shows up, unless I'm doing something wrong. Good day, DrDetroit
  25. I can't get the standalone 1.5 to run either - could be issue with the update? My Steam version runs fine as well as 2.0 NTTR, so no idea. Good day. DrDetroit
