  1. I guess what I meant was… … for example IFE and MilTech-5 don’t have any full module track record (yet), but have a sub-forum to allow us all to track their progress. Granted the MB-339 has an established position as a mod, but that’s a big difference to a paid mod As for the MiG-17, it does look very good, and the dogfight AI demonstrated in those vids shows that a fair bit of effort has gone into programming and not just the visual model
  2. Understandable… … but sounds a little “chicken & egg”…? from my understanding… aren’t a couple of the third party subs in that position at the moment???
  3. Thanks - a time sync has fixed
  4. Error code 500 Keep getting this, but not consistently. Had thought it might be linked to mods, but have removed all from saved games mods folder flew ok over the w/e, but today just get the free content any clues??
  5. Looking at the dogfight vids it looks like it will give anyone a run for their money if they’re careless enough to get into a close range fight… The 1v1 with the F-5 looks like the Tiger driver would have trouble…. Will be interesting to see how the F-4 fares. Also interesting that the vids are human F-5 and F-14 pilots vs AI MiG-17
  6. I guess the 3rd party dev needs to request a sub-forum on here… … but based on what’s on Facebook the Fresco is looking very good Will be a worthy addition to DCS: Cold War and a very good opponent for a range of the blue aircraft we have and have incoming image from Red Star Simulations Facebook page…
  7. Thanks - had seen reference to the Armat, but wasn’t familiar with it…
  8. Did any F1 operator / variant carry anti-radar missiles…?

    USS Texas

No need for USN stuff (PTO will cover…) Warspite, Belfast, S-Class destroyer, Tribal class destroyer
  10. Really want to fly this bird
  11. Unfortunately there are some blindingly obvious omissions in that ecosystem - Jaguar, Tornado, Harrier, Buccaneer, Starfighter

    SU-35S

    SU-35S

Dangerous ground for a post, especially at the current time, but doesn’t this whole “modern REDFOR” debate stray firmly into the arena of “geopolitics”? The cynical might suggest that a Nation State limits access to information, or downright prevents development of simulated military hardware of National Security sensitive status on their side - seems fair enough… OTOH, the developer, at least partly based in that Nation, has / has gained access to develop high(ish?) level simulation of OPFOR equipment…. Does that mean that one side can train against a reasonably simulated OPFOR, using an affordable civilian company sim, whilst the other cannot??? - does this still seem fair enough??? And to counter “it’s only a game”, isn’t it correct that A de l’A use the M2000C module??? Perhaps you see where I’m going here??? (not suggesting anything untoward on ED behalf, but the imbalance looks strange under current situation…!)

    More twins 😃

Yes, agreed and a particular constraint for the axis aircraft… Is the Beau still in the restoration hangar at Duxford?? Thought that example might be a good way to get the Beau in to DCS ETA - even for Brits, it’s easy to overlook or forget the importance of the Bristol Hercules… the Merlin has pushed everything else into obscurity. Recent reading about the Stirling took me aback when I read the power output of the Hercules engines on that thing… 4 x 1500 hp
  15. The whole UK would be thankless, and pointless… … but a West Wales map would be excellent. RAF Valley, Snowdonia, Mach Loop and the Cardigan Bay and Pembrey Ranges (remembers disappointment at the former UK developer with lots of UK-centric plans…)
  16. Nice little aircraft… and on IFE’s to do list…? It is the sort of aircraft I’d buy, so if it came as a DCS module it would find hangar space OTOH - if that there Hawker Hunter dropped, well it’s a pretty looking plane, similar era and role and makes an absolutely epic noise
  17. I wasn’t suggesting the Skyraider was a WW2 aircraft… The reference to WW2 and the TBF/M was to the fit with the ecosystems we have / expect to have in DCS. There is a WW2 Essex inbound, a Corsair, and hopefully an ecosystem comprising appropriate WW2 PTO assets. There are no equivalents announced for Korea or Vietnam - therefore as nice as a Skyraider would be be, it would be another outlier at the moment
  18. Don’t get me wrong, Marianas is a beautiful map… I love flying around it and have put together a number of wave hopping Mossie strikes, with the island defended by Antons I’m just not sure how it’s a good fit in a WW2 frame - best bet would be as Japanese held against US assault As a tech demo for a tropical island setting - yes I get that, and as with Razbam’s original Falklands concept… the island setting ring-fences the “effort” required
  19. Wiki* page I’m looking at gives 5,429kg empty and 8,213kg gross… … with armament load out of 3,600kg That’s not too shabby - we’re talking more than either a B-17 or a Mossie Doesn’t matter, would be good aircraft to have… but in terms if era fit a TBF / TBM would be better
  20. Is this urban legend - have heard it many times… but empty weight & ordnance load figures don’t seem to support this
  21. That carrier looks incredible… Hopefully that Corsair is on final approach and won’t get a wave off…!
  22. Interesting… might try a Viper against some WW2 assets
  23. Blimey - I’m too used to the WW2 AA and AAA… … those guys can knock the head off a pin at 6000m
