  1. Corsair is one of three modules which I can’t wait to get my hands on… Corsair, South Atlantic, Mirage F1… Each one is looking fabulous, but anyone’s guess as to when they will land. Each tease looks pretty close
  2. Me neither…!
  3. Yes, I’d agree with that, from the perspective of an Apache fan (or Viper fan etc) But did either move the dial for DCS…? (I guess we won’t know until the Apache enters Early Access) Yes, absolutely
  4. If Heatblur model an F-4, surely it would be an F-4J to go with Forrestal…? Not a bad starting point - especially for a few British skins… from photos, the RAF Phantom F3s retained the hook - no idea if it was operational though. UK F-4K and F-4M are going to be too much to ask with their extensive mods over the J, but a J with UK skins would be passable for me

    Any news?

And for finding 25 May after she hid from the RN We badly need some UK assets though Shar, Phantom, Tonka, Lynx
  6. Or for finding 25 May

    Any news?

Yeah, but the trees and mountains aren’t on the British map they’re there for strike missions heading West… or for Sea Kings making a sneaky little trip to Tierra del Fuego
  8. Bit of a one trick pony
  9. I was also thinking of the highly classified nature of the air defence suites - hence reference to the Type 45 and 23 ships
  10. Which is why port and starboard are vastly better terms - same applies to boats
  11. Don’t try the warbirds then… ok, so birds won’t be a problem, but there’s plenty of other stuff that breaks engines with monotonous regularity and yes, the frustration of a mission abort is offset by the satisfaction of getting the aircraft back on the ground in one(ish) piece
  12. Would love to see more maritime assets - WW2 and mid to late Cold War But which countries / era / assets to choose…? CW sub and ASW Ops are still (mostly) shrouded in secrecy Even surface ship capabilities will be difficult to determine (ETA - look for T45 and upgraded T23 anti-air capabilities and you’d probably conclude that being airborne was a bad plan…) and that’s just the limited open source info
  13. Incoming, hopefully… vid clips look stunning - just needs a semi reasonable eta
  14. Ahh, I thought there had been some chat through official ED sources - not a big splash vid announcement etc. I’d probably buy a MiG29, sale time most likely - it’s an interesting adversary aircraft. I like the small / powerful / manoeuvrable concept Apache - that’s a pass, for me anyway Brain melting, something totally new to DCS etc…? I’d still be fired up to see a F-111 of Tornado BUT - even a year on from the previous thread, I’m still struggling to think what aircraft would be as significant to move the dial (in either DCSW or RL aviation terms) as much as the hype suggested Me-262 would move the dial as would 4-engines / multi crew: B-17, B-24, B-29 or the CW strategic bombers, as above, bringing multi crew and multi engine Foxbat or Foxhound would be iconic redfor additions, but seem unlikely so, struggling… F-4 would be popular, but was it truly revolutionary? F-111 pretty much was, plenty of novel features for its time - and for DCS
  15. Whatever happened to the “brain melting” / mystery module thingy that was a big thread a year or so ago…? neither the Apache nor the Fulcrum announcements really felt like they filled that particular slot
  16. Agree - full rpm… tempting to turn the revs down and use throttle / boost, but very easy to over boost the engines in the heat of the moment
  17. The Razbam S Atlantic seascape always looks suitably stormy
  18. That looks like a great map Not just for Desert Storm and Iraq War, but more interestingly for the 1980s Iran Iraq war The coalition actions against Iraq were a little one sided from an air Ops perspective, whereas the Iran - Iraq clash seems to have been far more closely balanced and involved some interesting tactics on both sides. We also have, or have inbound, a good collection of aircraft for Iran v Iraq. Mirage F1 v F-14 for example…
  19. Agree with the above… unfortunately Seafire evolution from the Spitfire line is not straightforward, so from ED perspective it would need to be a separate module (with low sales potential) OTOH, as a community mod, a hooked Mk.IX of future Mk.XIV would be better than the current options for WW2 carrier ops As for Anton and Dora - clearly these are different aircraft…. Not sure how it arguable that Anton should have been added to the Dora module. That logic kind of works for a future F8, but equally probably explains why the F8 hasn’t appeared
  20. I think that’s what we are all saying I’d just like the opportunity to play around on board boats - so a hooked version in the same package would be very, very welcome
  21. To that specific question…? Fulcrum or Hellcat / WW2 Marianas
  22. Yes, agree with this point… But a Griffin Spitfire with a Griffin Seafire could work as a combo package. Likewise a Merlin engined Seafire as an uplift to the Spit Mk.IX Increases the usage options for the module(s), especially if / when the focus turns to the Pacific
  23. Now, there’s an interesting line of thought… Cold War holds a lot of appeal on here - but ok, so what…?! but if Russian legislation and Western classification of 4+ gen aircraft has ED “hemmed in” then mid - late CW modules suddenly looks a lot more appealing. Mirage F1 is coming, a number of other similar era jets are hinted and we already have a few available Also if current geopolitical hotspots are too hot - Taiwan, S China Sea, Ukraine / Crimea, then that also could point to a politically “safer” map zone and aircraft set. South Atlantic could work out as a real gem - I’d always considered Argentina / Chile as a WW2 era stand in for Norway Mossie raids, but it would make a damn good “Northern” Cold War set
  24. I know a lot of folks are keen on a whole world map… can’t think of anything worse for this franchise we don’t fly wide bodied jets from one continent to another… detailed cities / airports with nothin in between and terrain viewable from 30k+ had a different platform and what era would such an undertaking be set in??? keep it at a tactical scale - that’s what DCS is
