The DKM squadron has disappeared from ME With the “Norwegian Fjords” now in DCS (S Atlantic), I really want to get these ships back in to the game - especially Tirpitz and Scharnhorst As a bit of disc management I temporarily removed all of my Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\Tech folders (and Mods\Aircraft) now with more space, I’ve copied the folders back, but some mods work, most don’t… stand-alone Z-39 works, none of the DKM squadron pack does… I have the Dido cruiser and Flower corvette, but pretty much no other WW2 naval mods Any thoughts? Have re-downloaded etc… All seems a bit random as some work, some dont (these assets are way too good not to use, especially with the new SA map - a big thank you to @Hawkeye60

An Iwo Jima map logged in Steam DB? could this be a standalone PTO map? expanded WW2 Marianas? Coordinated PTO project to bring together products from multiple devs?

Could it be the ED WW2 version of Marianas…? expanded northwards to include Iwo Jima??? Now that would be big news Always thought it odd that ED would pass off PTO to a single 3rd party. Suspect (hope) there is a coordinated approach being pulled together behind the scenes

Although to use the mods, the P-51 will be your best option

The DCS warbirds are all great, but challenging to learn. Best attribute is that they all feel and fly very differently - something you don’t see in many sims. The Mosquito is probably my favourite - being a twin brings something different, and of course it is a much missed and iconic UK aircraft in RL For the single engined fighters, the two 190s are good to fly, but the 109 is great. I really love that DB605 supercharger whine

Cockpit lighting looks fab - I’d say this module looks like it is pushing the DCS boundaries as per @Ala13_ManOWar, the Japanese land assets have been shown before… but have clearly benefitted from a lot of additional work

What’s with all the negativity…. We’re all looking forward to a bunch of hotly anticipated releases - South Atlantic, Mirage F1, Corsair, MB-339, and it IS frustrating that none of these has dropped so far in 2022, but there is still plenty of flying to be done in DCS and I’m sure one of more of the above will be along shortly… As far as low altitude visuals are concerned, we really won’t know until we get to fly it, but IIRC the Tactical Pascale vid showed a number of low level views, looked pretty good and emphasised the devs interest in helo ops… The DCS 2022 vid also featured a lot of SA and looked good

Seems a fairly infantile approach to life… The Corsair imagery that has been shown looks pretty well progressed, but I would be more encouraged to see some in game video as well There is also the Essex carrier to consider - whilst it looks good there is undoubtedly a lot of AI asset behaviour to model for the CV… and that’s without any similar input for Japanese assets. TBH, I hope to see the Corsair this year, but have a sneaky suspicion that the Corsair and WW2 Marianas might be progressing on parallel tracks - we can only hope (and meanwhile, the negative trolling helps nobody )

Looks fantastic, cannot wait Will be an awesome Cold War map… All those mountains and valleys really do need a Tornado and a Jaguar to tear down through on a low level strike And the fjords are going to see a lot of Mossie strike wing action

Any advice??? All but one of my mods have disappeared from the ME and the main menu… The T-45 Goshawk mod works fine, but a whole fleet of ship mods no longer appear I have checked file paths and everything seems to be in order. The only thing I can think of is that I re-downloaded my OB version. Originally I had OB on C:\ and Release on a separate SSD. As C:\ was getting too full I deleted the release version and moved OB to that drive. HOWEVER, I had already deleted mods (C:\Users\etc) to try and save space and only copied the back once I had moved the OB

Based on what I’ve previously read I can’t see that the GR.3 would make a viable FRS.1 stand in on any level (dedicated A2G role, no radar) particularly for the Falklands conflict, the FRS.1’s role was fleet defence first and foremost. Yes, the US provision of the 9L was key to the combat record, but if you read Sharkey Ward’s account, the Blue Fox was an asset for the Invincible’s 801 squadron at the very least

According to the podcast referenced above ^^ The radar is still classified as it is the grandfather of the Typhoon radar (ok, ok, the Raz guy calls Blue Vixen not Blue Fox… but either way refs apparently aren’t available) BUT on the other hand, TG / HB are modelling the Typhoon anyway Do the German and British Typhoons carry different sensors??? If the Typhoon radar can be / is being modelled, then Raz need to go for a coffee, quick like I do like the idea of a GR.3 as a fallback, but it’s a pretty poor second to the FRS.1 oh, and to all the folks not clear on the SHAR being unique compared to the other Harrier versions - go look up it’s A2A combat stats

I also thought it was about to drop, but wasn’t part of yesterday’s open beta update. Usually after an update the post is changed to “next update - TBA” (or similar) yesterday’s post is “next update - June”… …. so perhaps the map will be released for the 40th anniversary of the end of the conflict

Quite right… … but I can’t see much point in having the islands in US hands (from a combat flight sim perspective) hopefully we will get some more news, images and videos over the summer

I’m not sure about release being timed with the 40-year anniversary of the end of the conflict…. Raz have greatly expanded the map AND won’t yet have all the necessary assets for 1982. I think (hope) the map will be sooner, possibly with the assets pack to follow later???

What will you do…. Months ago, my plans for this map centred around fjords, mossies and ships right now though - what to do??? jump in something fast like the Mirage and bez around the map for a quick look-see??? or have a real good look around in the Gazelle…? choices, choices
