  1. What’s the ongoing obsession with the Norden sight…???
  2. Looked like the Aussie Darings in the formation - wondered whether Melbourne was also there
  3. Nice photo… what are the two carriers?
  4. Might give SC a whirl in the current sale… I guess F/A-18 + SC would be a good combo, but never felt that bothered about the 18…
  5. Yes, but only after a Luftwaffe twin

    Any news?

Yes, was delighted to see the bleak mountainous landscape feature in the ED video… One of the really exciting aspects of this map will be to run modern northern Scandinavia / NW Soviet Union type scenarios, albeit in the Southern Hemisphere… EF2000 part deux…! I’ve been pondering Mosquito range / load / flight time type issues from Falklands to mainland - maths suggest that it would be a long drive…!
  7. Lancaster fits Normandy and Channel maps / timeframe just fine And, certainly for Brits, is probably viewed as far more iconic
  8. I didn’t suggest “pre-order” in my post In Aerges own words… The vid is an ED branded vid from the start. There is no WIP or “in development”comment. For ED to put ED and DCS branding on the vid, then they are showing that they are satisfied to put their name to the module - to me, the “early access teaser vid” says that the Mirage has been through testing. There may well be a release queue to maximise the splash and sales around the Apache, but that’s a different issue
  9. I’d agree, Apache first… but the speculation on MB-339 next, then F1 doesn’t seem to fit the info released so far (and I realise we are all speculating - look at the Mossie launch) ED have released a pre EA trailer for the F1, surely that wouldn’t have happened if the module wasn’t at least part way through build testing? in comparison, the MB-339 hasn’t even been covered by any official videos yet (although I could have missed them) ETA, the previous F1 videos - Mineralnye Vody of 23/10/2021 and the initial video of 07/05/2021 were both marked as Work in Progress, right on the first frames. The most recent video (23/12/2021?) has no such WIP / in development caveat at any point in the run time. The video is also posted under an official DCS module naming convention - DCS: Mirage F1. This thing has already been through testing, surely…
  10. I’d be quite happy to see the F1 drop in to early access with just fox 2 capability… As for release timing, Aerges says Reads to me like Q1. For all we know it may be waiting for the Apache, which based on the ramped up video output, must be close…
  11. As above
  12. Totally different types of vids though…? The MB-339 vids (that I saw) were “just” gameplay vids (ILS, canopy icing). Both were completely unbranded In comparison, the F1 vid was a fully produced, glossy promo - complete withED / AERGES / DCS branding
  13. I can’t imagine that vid coming out if it wasn’t close. There was also the module giveaway at the virtual airshow
  14. Seems to be listed in the changelog

  15. Aerges already has Sea Eagle in the game…
  16. Interesting stuff ^^ about Rapier and Sea Wolf… A family friend was on Brilliant and made a comment that the Sea Wolf launchers would return to pointing dead ahead / dead astern if two targets crossed Vertical launch makes a lot of sense, for many, many reasons…! Re Batch 3 Sea Wolf Leanders… Leander Mod
  17. She certainly looks fast…
  18. Anyone know what map that is at 00:30…? Would look great screaming along above those rough South Atlantic whitecaps* * wrong Mirage variant and wrong side (for me) accepted as sim artistic licence
  19. I can’t for the life of me understand why each module shouldn’t ship with its own appropriate voice comms
  20. Notable that the vid is fully ED / DCS branded - exciting…! (supposed to be a big patch due today )
  21. Sea Fury - nuff said
  22. So, as OP, I’m still not sure on Supercarrier… it’s been in and out of my basket over the last few sales. Is it best seen as a buddy module for the Hornet??? (which I don’t own) …or is it equally good with the Tomcat? what about Mods - does it function with the A-4 and T-45?
  23. Is it just me that sees a passing resemblance between these two aircraft…? Era, SEPECAT partners, style of undercarriage…? Not sure what it is Of course, if Aerges are looking for a non-Spanish project….
  24. South Atlantic map opens up a world of additional possibilities… the cold, grey stormy seas, heavy overcast skies and hostile mountainous terrain coul easily stand in for Norway or the Soviet Union in a Cold War setting… or for Allied coastal strikes against Nazi shipping as a WW2 stand in I actually have serious questions about any WW2 Pacific setting, with the exception of Guadalcanal / Solomons, or possibly Burma or New Guinea. How does “island hopping” fit with any ground assets??? Should WW2 Marianas be in US hands of Japanese??? Currently we have the remnants of the US airbases, but that doesn’t work for a US invasion scenario. Guadalcanal and Henderson Field could at least work for the fiercely contested air land and sea campaigns of 1942-3 Marianas is an odd choice for any era
  25. Plenty of scope for “what ifs”… biggest criticism is that it’s NOT SUITABLE for the Harrier without a big “what if” OTOH, plenty of scope for Chile / Argentina or Argentina / UK what ifs
