  1. Hi, Avoid break turns and try to hold speed in turns. Around 350 to 400 kmh. Mustangs can turn very fast But after a short period of time they lose their Power and the 109 will get more and more options. Just stay in turn and don't lose speed. Against Spits it's much harder But nearly the same Story. Try to fly accurate turns. Rudderwork is important in order to hold speed. If you Do IT right, the spitfire can't have a clean shot. It's not necessary to pull like the Rock Johnson. Hope this helps a bit. Great Module, I love it. Cheers Tom
  2. Great! Thank you  Very nice camera textures- looks great! Keep on and sed more :D Cheers
  3. Very nice 3d art! :notworthy:
  4. Great artwork! I love it! Please share more WIP pics Best wishes Tom
  5. In RL chaffs will be filtered by radar systems. But a chaff cloud is still an obstacle- filtered or not. Your systems need a lot of computer power to calculate it. Unfortunally all is higly classified. We won`t find any sources or infos about it. But I would say that the Question is simple: If chaffs are useless in modern Warfare, why every air force still use it? For me the answer is simple: Because it works well. Interesting links: http://wx.db.erau.edu/faculty/mullerb/Wx365/Chaff/chaff.html https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjC_LvQ7ILoAhUNuaQKHV3mBcEQjRx6BAgBEAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sto.nato.int%2Fpublications%2FSTO%2520Meeting%2520Proceedings%2FRTO-MP-097-I%2FMP-097(I)-12.pdf&psig=AOvVaw2ZYRg5dRKhLrCdxY7Jfr7c&ust=1583480754769434 https://www.cambridge.org/core/services/aop-cambridge-core/content/view/E338317110A8E9AAC96CA70F93A37773/S0960129513000686a.pdf/analysis_of_the_doppler_frequency_feature_of_aero_deception_activepassivejamming.pdf Cheers Tom
  6. Hi I would say: Tomcat! sean dolan ethan dolan Cheers Tom
  7. Hi, I saw a lot of my missiles pitching up when they try to intercept Su-30`s equipped with Sorbsijas. Is electronic warfare implemented in DCS as countermeasures against enemy weapons? No offence or Bug-hunt- just a question. Cheers Tom
  8. As far I know, chaffs are still a challenge- even for modern radar. Yes - it`s frustrating, but seems to be correct in DCS. So I fly my cat as a "mobile SAM station". If I got a kill- nice. If not... who cares. I was always happy when I was able to land on deck safely- no kills, but sure that some guys had to change their pants. :megalol:
  9. metal plates, sheet plates … you name it. And correct: I wrote around 3500 in first. So not wrong so far. Think it´s discussed and done Question was: Was the 109 unstable in real history?
  10. Hello grafspee, perfect explained! Thank you and Cheers Tom
  11. Okay. They installed the plates without any reason. Just for a better look , Right? And the Landing gear is perfect. Are you agree? And yes- I wrote About 2000kg - that was not an important Point for me. "Leermasse: 1970 kg" (with fuel, Pilot , weapons and ammo much more around 3500kg) ""1999 December, Flight Journal, “Combat Warrior, The Historical View” by Captain Eric Brown “But the Bf 109’s deficiencies almost equal its fabulous assets. The Luftwaffe lost 11,000 of these thoroughbred fighting machines in takeoff and landing accidents, most of them at the end of the War when they needed them most.” “I felt certain, too, that the landing gear’s being slightly splayed outward aggravated the ground-looping tendency and contributed to the excessive tire wear and bursts. The Spitfire had a similar, narrow-track landing gear, but it was not splayed out like that of the Bf 109, and the Spitfire didn’t show any ground-looping propensities.”" Cheers Tom
  12. Completely wrong?! Oh come on! 3. : The narrow track landing gear was a requirement of the "Reichsluftfahrtministerium" in order to detach the wings if a bird landed on a field. So they planned to move all aircraft s by trucks- completely stupid and dangerous (for the pilots)! In fact it was not the case during the war. Typical german.... Whatever, that was the reason for that dump landing gear. 2. : Rotary gyro overturning moment 1. : Look at the pictures please 4. : Eric Brown and Imperial Air War Museum and private sources russian image upload images from up upload gifs online Cheers Tom
  13. Bonjour and thanks for testing. Yes Sir- here it is for caucasus: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ywap0do4zge4cea/HardSplatSelfillum.zip/file Please make saefty copy first. Copy that zip into: DCS-World_OpenBeta\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\vfstextures Thats it. Setting must be "high" for terrain textures. Cheers Tom
  14. Hi, I fly in VR, latest patch, no mods. The problem is present with every setting of Gamma. Doesn`t matter which value . I don`t know if it is the same with displays but in VR these borders disturbing the perfect new look of the simulation. I would say that the "pure black" caused these edges. Or maybe more steps of colors may needed. Finally - Su-30`s have a wrong light texture. Same for MiG23 and 27. I hope, my pics could help. Cheers Tom
  15. The Ground textures in DCS having different layers. Basically, you can say you have a Kind of "tilling". The whole map is covered by a satellite map for long range views. For Shorter distances you have the "tiles". The tiles are: water, cities, mountains and noise (the whole rest). The City tiles are named into "splatmap". Every splatmap have layers like: color, Roof (trees and Roofs of Buildings), specular, bump and lightmap. The lightmap is the Shining of street lights and other Sources cause by an alpha-map. But if you have hard borders on the Ground the Shining will end abruptly. Hope I was able to explain . Cheers Tom
  16. Hi, thanks for testing. I think, it is perfect. But just without these light textures for the splatmaps. I tryed the same for the Caucasus map - I personally like it. But as I mentioned: It`s just an idea to ED. Cheers Tom
  17. So far I know: yes. There was no trim function for the roll axis. So the bird is rolling permanently into left or Right direction. Depends on the airspeed. The Germans had steel plates to trim the bird into a stable flight -around 350 km/h. The fuselage was very light (only around 3500kg) but the Germans were crazy enough to boost it with an 1370 PS engine (HP). Plus that crazy stupid undercarriage- Thanks to the Ministry of the Reich. Overall, the Me109 is not that big deal. She was more deadly for their own pilots. Try to fly it and try to survive. Use Hit and run-tactics. This Video can give some impressions- just check rudder and stick work while T/O and Landing Cheers Tom
  18. I would like to see finished versions of all current models first!
  19. Hi, yes- sure! Just copy the file into: DCS-World_OpenBeta\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\PersianGulf\vfstextures http://www.mediafire.com/file/02rg97t85ln9uyx/HardSplatTextures.zip/file Make a Saefty copy first! Enjoy Cheers Tom
  20. Hi, short: I`m unhappy with the light textures of the splatmaps. Alone, they look great. But in all theaters we have sharp borders of all splatmaps caused by the system of mapbuilding. funny guy names So, in the night you can see these sharp borders while flying over the terrain and the look is quite un-natural, I think. So I started a small test and downgraded all light textures of the splatmaps. In the result, the lights are more natural now without these sharp borders. Nice side effect: little more performance. I like the new effects of the latest ED patch. So, in that case, I think the light textures of the splatmaps ... I would say ... seems to be outdated. It`s just an idea.... Cheers Tom
  21. I have not much experience in modding but I like that fact the people are able to import new stuff into the sim. And often it is the launch for a great professional project. Someone started to build a Nevada map for LockOn, Props, crowds, ships and Infantry. I think that was the start for a lot of modules we have now. As an example: In Germany we have a game called "Landwirtsschaftssimulator". It is one of the most successful games in Germany because it`s very Mod-friendly. Der "Landwirtschafts-Simulator 2019 ging laut dem Bericht bis dato schon über zwei Million en Mal über die Ladentheke.- They sold more them two million copies of the 2019 version. And it`s just farming." Whatever. I like the latest improvements by ED. Cheers Tom
  22. Modders are the backbone of every community and helps to keep a product fresh and alive. - new ideas - Improvement - challenges - Options If a SIM or a game is not mod-able, it`s dead after a short period of time. I think that ED is on the Right way and made good decisions. 2.5.6 was not so nice so far. But hey- it`s a beta. Some Things can go wrong. Thats why it`s just an open BETA. Cheers Tom PS: The most important thing is: make good bug Reports!
  23. Same Problem here. Catapult is not working anymore. Cheers Tom
  24. I have the same Problem: No launch after Salute. Allways, when I made a Cold and dark start up. Clean Version, no mods, latest update. Old missions, new created missions and Campaign …
  25. a good landing: pilot is still alive and can walk away. a perfect landing: first point AND aircraft is still in a good condition. :music_whistling:
