  1. If that works in vanilla 2.0 alpha, it's new as of today's update.
  2. In theory, this should be part of the ATC refactor that's been rumored to be in the works, and will show up with or after the 2.5 merge. I agree, we should have either variable channel spacing between 200 kHz and 8.33 kHz depending on the aircraft's communication hardware. Mission designers will also need to take more care to program the preset channels for planes like the L-39 which cannot manually tune.
  3. Also note that many older chat menu mods are incompatible. I had to re-download the latest versions of a few.
  4. We've (A-4 community mod) experienced a bunch of bugs with going Blender -> .FBX -> 3dsMax -> .EDM Basically, inverted faces, missing vertexes, and other wierd artifacts. The conversion from .blend also takes a REALLY long time on large scenes/objects, and is prone to just crashing sometimes. While we'd love to see a Blender-compatible .EDM plugin, not sure it'll ever happen. Would definitely open up DCS:W to a lot of new content though, given the $0 barrier to entry.
  5. How does the gazelle behave when loaded beyond MTOW like this? 8x AGM-114 missiles weigh about 400kg (50kg/ea), versus 4x HOT which weigh about 100kg. The 7x FFAR pods weigh about 40kg/ea empty, plus another 114kg (8kg x 14) for the rockets.
  6. Are you guys using trim or the magnetic brake? Trim should really only be used for longer distance flying I think, magnetic brake would be used to reduce force on the cyclic as you transition in and out of hover. Yes, you can have the engineer do it if you're very slow and deliberate, but where's the fun in that? =P
  7. Yes, but players new to helicopters won't notice the tilting. I agree though, the data about forces is there if you're looking for it.
  8. My issue is the helo engine noises are too loud, even with "hear like in helmet" enabled.
  9. September 2016 Update While I know a number of you will be disappointed, we don't have anything in a state that's ready to show this update. Most of the team has been on vacation or otherwise occupied this month. Items in-progress that we're not quite ready to show include a number of small external model improvements, a dozen or so weapons in-progress, as well as advances in the system programming for a bunch of gauges and systems. Cockpit test modes and indicators are improving. We've also recently acquired some new documentation that will help us model a few systems more accurately than before. Thanks for everyone's encouragement, and next month we should have some neat surprises for everyone. --gos
  10. FWIW, my throttle (collective) position is often mis-detected at startup. I always move it full-stroke after loading the module to calibrate the position/throw, before I start the engines.
  11. (yes, i confirmed the bug too)
  12. video doesn't work for me, says playback error can you post the full URL?
  13. why does "pedals centered" matter?
  14. Possibly related, if I take the IR suppressor or dust filter when arming initially, they'll show as blank when I re-arm. It only suggests the 4 HOT missiles.
  15. possibly related to: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2899514&postcount=192
  16. Description: Radar (Shilka in this case) locks my gazelle, I get a radar warning tone. It shoots me down. When I respawn, the high pitched squeal of the lock is still playing, and persists until I leave the server. 17. All you need is a compass, your airspeed indicator, and a watch. You don't need full-time radio signals to navigate by beacons. Just use dead reckoning to get close enough to receive the signal, then use the signal to fine-tune.
  18. I re-downloaded and it now works. Would be nice to have some kind of version history so I can tell whether or not i'm running the latest, without having to actually re-download and diff the mods. thx --gos
  19. I'll double-check my setup later today after work. Are there multiple versions of DAWS Weather? I don't see any version indicated, but am wondering if I have an older version somehow.
  20. Hi. I'm getting this error as of the previous stable release (still happens in today's push for me) when I try to enter the mission editor: 00026.545 ALERT LUACOMMON: Error: GUI Error: [string "./MissionEditor/modules/me_mission.lua"]:2108: attempt to call field 'updateSeason' (a nil value) GUI debug.traceback: stack traceback: [C]: in function 'updateSeason' [string "./MissionEditor/modules/me_mission.lua"]:2108: in function 'create_new_mission' [string "./MissionEditor/modules/MainMenu.lua"]:121: in function 'func' [string "./MissionEditor/modules/me_wait_screen.lua"]:59: in function 'updater' [string "./Scripts/UpdateManager.lua"]:64: in function <[string "./Scripts/UpdateManager.lua"]:40> If I remove your mod, everything works fine. Any suggestions?
  21. They also give us an active platform to measure our own stealth detection capabilities against multiple generations of technology.
  22. Possible, but unlikely. Occam's Razor and all that. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to fly and many behaviors are close to expected, but there's still a large number of FM behaviors that are not very helicopter-like, as was pointed out by 0xDEADBEEF and others.
  23. no pic/screenshot?
  24. nevermind, figured out my issue
  25. thx for keeping this supported, it's super useful
