I'm with you on this Fishbed! I wonder if the map we are waiting for the Viggen is coming with the Tomcat. The clues leaded me to a north sea map, parts of Scandinavia with the Baltic Sea. I have another wishlist aircraft that would greatly benefit from highway landing strips and forward operating bases! Since the AJS is mainly a mud fighter, mixing it up with fighters is going to get fun with only heat-seekers.

I'm really interested in seeing the list of AI that LN had to create for the PTO! Hopefully they are able to get the problems with the Mig out of the way, and can get the Corsair, Iwo Jima, and the Viggen!:joystick::pilotfly: Yikes, my optimism is showing!:bounce::bounce:

Here we go again trying to break the forums by putting DCS-(favorite aircraft) on a non-official thread! Ya'll almost gave me a heart attack!:megalol::megalol::megalol: That being said a Corsair would be a dream come true for me! I've wanted to fly this bird in DCS since the Mustang came flying in!:pilotfly::joystick: The D-9 variant has an Jumo in-line V-12. Now the early A models had BMW 801 radial engine.

I think they are working on how to handle the fallout when they don't release a Viggen![emoji33]

Don't forget to check the flux capacitor! I hear those can be thrown out of wack by inverted rotational matrices![emoji106] Good hunting gents! Looking forward to flying her in Nevada!

We need more steak! Then... we can have cheesy steak! Who is bringing the bread![emoji2]

RAZBAM is supposedly working on that one.

The hype train is derailing![emoji23]

I don't know why, but every time I see a Gripen. I get an image of the F-20 Tigershark lodged in my head! Such a neat little jet. I want'em all![emoji7]

I think you will also notice how I left them in quotations. Maybe I only got half of the sarcasm. [emoji6] [emoji106] My point still stands, as far as I know, the Goblin wasn't ment to come in a tree top level like the Aardvark or Tornado. She is a methodical mid to high altitude attack aircraft.

An upgraded model perhaps? The only thing I see, at a glance on a rather small screen, is the ejection handle.

We are already getting a mix set of aircraft. WW 2 and Korean War birds are already in the mix. Time period are up to the mission makers, not the devs. I'm happy that DCSW is a "sandbox" sim and not focused on any particular area. It has a much broader appeal to folks. I think that if the display is there maybe someone could mod in a moving map. We already have programs like Helios. Adding a "picture in picture" wouldn't be a problem would it?

I'll be a pessimist and say January/February. Maybe I'll be surprised......

[emoji33] [emoji6] At least it will be good and ready by my retirement years! I'll have plenty of time to fly![emoji23]

Where did you get these from Mike?

I don't think there was anything low and "fast" about the Goblin. I hardly claim amateur knowledge about her, but I'm sure that she did most, if not all of her bombing from 15,000ft or higher. Also, her combat missions where exclusively flown at night. :noexpression: The Nighthawk missions that I envisage would take a substantial amount of long slow hours between take-off, refueling, bombing, refueling, and landing. As was said, your more of a systems manager with the occasional piloting. I think that she would have her cult following, don't misunderstand me. The Deep Penetration missions would have to be very in depth. A substantially improved briefing system would be a must. Maybe one day a digital video style briefing will appear.:music_whistling: While a very cool aircraft, I think others like the Aardvark, Fencer, Tornado, Strike Eagle, and Intruder could offer that deep strike role in a much more interesting and hands on flight. Not to mention those jets while they did fly mostly at night, would not be out of place flying daytime strike missions. They offer much better replay possibilities and vastly larger strike envelopes which include standoff Ironhand\Wild Weasel missions. Would I buy the Nighthawk? *sigh* Probably just to have in my stable. There are just so may other jets, props, and even a few turbo-props that I would like to see first.

Here you go Griggsy! This link is to the DCS World download page. For the 1.5 beta and the 1.2 standalone. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/ You only need to have the 1.5 Beta, not both if you already have 1.2 in steam. Tomorrow I believe we get a third option with NTTR and 2.0 will be a separate install. Just until they can update the Georgia map to the 2.0 standard and squash enough bugs. Then the will probably release NTTR and the Georgia map as a 2.0 beta. Just my speculations don't hold anyone to that.
-
I am thinking this is true. Probably want to get in some last minute bug squashing. Once NTTR is released en masse and they have a good idea of the new issues. I think our chances of seeing the new modules improve greatly. NTTR\2.0 has been a much need improvement, but cause huge headaches. I just hope that the delays in the announcements haven't cause large delays for the Tomcats.

I'd have to disagree strongly with it being an "over-priced eggbeater". The MV-22 has a definite role to fill and fills that role very nicely! The Osprey can operate faster and over longer ranges than Chinook. Comparing them doesn't do either aircraft justice in my opinion. If you are going to compare the Osprey to something it would have to be the Sea Knight. Which it is replacing. The Chinook and Sea Knight more mature aircraft with excellent capabilities, with out a doubt. I think the only fair comparison for the CH-47 as far as American helicopters go would be the Super Stallion. Both of which are heavy lift helicopters. The MV-22 is falling into the medium lift category which was filled, until recently, very capably by the Sea Knight. I'll leave the F-35 discussion for another forum... Agreed, it is very over-priced! I'm sure there have been requests for the Chinook and her little sister the Sea Knight! I would like to see both of them in-game eventually! While I think it would be unlikely to see the MV-22 in DCS as a flyable aircraft, it would certainly be a quick buy for me! I think that Belsimtek would have the best position to make it happen as they already have a working relationship with Bell Helicopter!

Very nice landing! I think I flew looser patterns in a Cessna!:megalol: Congrats on the big one thousand! May your landings always equal your takeoffs!

DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)
Cool Breeze replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
^^^ Darn double sniped!:megalol: I'm definitely looking forward to this bird. I thought we already had a thread started about her though. Friedrich-4/B has some interesting docs in the first posts. I don't read German, but they are there if you can. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138925&highlight=Me-262 Avialogs.com is where I think they are from, plus a couple of others not in the thread post. http://www.avialogs.com/index.php/en/aircraft/germany/messerschmitt/me262.html -
What are the chances we will see a B-17 DLC some day?
Cool Breeze replied to oscar19681's topic in DCS: WWII Assets Pack
Once we get the 1944 map I believe it will be only a matter of time before we start getting multi-engine bombers. AI will come first then slowly the pilotable aircraft will emerge. It's just going to take more patience waiting for the aircraft to develop. The new challenge with the bombers in not just building the cockpits but fleshing out the entirety of the inside fuselage and crew stations. Powered turrets, mounted machine guns.... That alone will take months of modeling and texturing time per aircraft. I think ED and the third parties will eventually work through the back log of single seat jets and props, and fewer multi-seat jets and props that are popular. We will get them, it's just going to take a new level of patience. While I probably wouldn't fly them very much. I think that I would buy several of them when they became available. In the end everyone is going to have their niche aircraft, they can't all be developed at once. It's going to be a while IMO. -
I can't stop laughing at this! It's really hard to type right now! Thanks MJ!!![ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EypzUduBqiQ]:megalol:[/ame] I'm going to have to work on this!:smartass: [ame] [/ame]
