  1. I defiantly like the idea of adding a bit of precision air to ground with the maverick. Not having the napalm however is something ED must solve with their game engine first. From the little I know flames are very hard to recreate. Recreating that rolling, roiling effect I shudder just thinking of the CPU cycles that would cost. I just don't know if we will see it in the near future.
  2. Polychop congratulations again on your first release! She is fantastic and already given me a new appreciation of how challenging helicopters are! She looks and sounds amazing! Lots of practice ahead for me.
  3. While I haven't tried it in the 109, rapid onset death from hypoxia common when I forget the oxygen. You can kill yourself on the ground in the Mig-15! Lol
  4. While this is solely my own opinion. I believe we are waiting in the integration of 2.0/2.5 and the ability to change maps within DCS world. With out this we are left with standalone UI's for each map like we have now with Nevada and Georgia. If I've read Leathernecks intentions correctly they want to release each aircraft with its own map. So between now and the release of 2.5 I'm guessing that they are using the time to polish the modules. Hopefully we will see then sooner rather than later, but I could be very wrong. As always everything is subject to change and two weeks to be sure![emoji23]
  5. This looks like a fun! I'm going to try to put together a scenario like this with AI and see how it plays out.
  6. Gents not to perpetuate a discussion, but it doesn't matter what the real world Phoenix did or didn't achieve. We have this fight over every weapon system in every game I've ever played. The only thing that matters now is the missiles produced by Leatherneck and Eagle Dynamics. Our weapons are only going to be as effective as they are able to program them. Given that I'm sure some of the systems specs are still classified, omitted, or incomplete. The weapons and the way we employ they aren't going to match the real world ones perfectly. While this will be the best simulation we have had in my opinion, it is just that. So let's take this like most things in life with a health dose of perspective.
  7. OK, Ok, I could see passing on the rivet pack, but... but platinum F-ing screws! Who wouldn't want to pimp their birds out with those! We demand the platinum screws!:megalol: Thanks much for the hard work on this Starway! I'm looking forward to the updated textures!
  8. These campaigns looks great Apache! I'm looking forward to getting them very soon!
  9. It will be interesting indeed to see the Phoenix's in MP servers! My personal favorite load for the 'Cat would be the 4 Sparrows, 2 Phoenix, and 2 Sidewinders. When a RIO powers up that big AWG-9! I think aircraft are going to be imitating ground hogs. Since Leatherneck are making their own AIM-54. Are we going to see the Leatherneck Phoenix models superseding the -54s in game now for the AI Tomcats? I'm very interested in seeing the performance differences between theirs missiles and the DCS standard Phoenix.
  10. The F-20 in my opinion was a potentially very capable 4th generation version of the F-5.
  11. In the last couple of news letters DCS has talked about improving the ground coding. They have also been playing with user friendly airfields that can be placed where we would like them. Don't forget the Normandy map. While I don't know much about it. Better ground handling for takeoff and landings are a must have for that period. Not to mention the STOL and VTOL aircraft in the pipeline from other developers. Grass runways and more complex FOB operations are an almost must have for the future. While the Georgia map may take some time to updated. I'm very optimistic about the new maps!
  12. I am of a similar mind on the autorotation... But as there are multiple engines I doubt it would be a problem. With the exception of a catastrophic failure of the the power source or a failure the main support mounts for the engines.
  13. There are a bunch working on a mod for the Skyhawk. So you may just get your wish!
  14. Cobra has said in the past that they start with very high poly models then "bake" them down to lower poly shapes. The amount of detail to the control surfaces of the wing are an incredible sight! I hope I don't need a new video card for this one! Lol!
  15. While they do have several aircraft in development. RAZBAM certainly doesn't have all of their eggs in one basket, with the ground radar. The Harrier and the Tucano are being actively developed in the mean time. So I don't think we will be waiting extremely lengthy development cycles after the radar comes to fruition! They will probably come out faster that we will want to shell out the money for them! Lol!
  16. I believe another developer has an F6 variant of the Lightning in their roadmap.
  17. Just to stoke the fires!
  18. They had full control for smooth traditions to and from hover and forward flight. Also, with the for nozzles vectoring from the Pegasus. The forward pair were cool air and the rear pair were hot air! https://youtu.be/tfbHMxnlbfI https://youtu.be/D1i4ukSdqjc
  19. I would hope that the carrier ability would showcased. Maybe have multiple models designed as they are making with the Tomcat. The Echo and Juliet modules would be my personal preference. Though the Juliet is my preferred Phantom.
  20. Are you referring to a radar ranging gunsight?
  21. Hmmmm, guns and rocket pods! Lovely! Looking forward to some low level tree top running, spotting, and gunning!
  22. Yes, I completely agree! I really lament what has become of the primary Discovery and History channels. They have good show every now and then, but most of the programming has become junk. Oh well, just have to keep re-watching the classics!
  23. Thanks CheckGear! Makes me nostalgic watching these again. I miss the old Discovery Channel. I would tape every episode that I could on VHS! Lol! Got my parents pretty heated a couple of times when I would tape over a family movies when I ran out of tapes! Hey, desperate times call for desperate measures!
  24. Soon is a relative term in software development. Generally meaning months in the future!
