Hopefully, this is something that can be toned down. I'm practically breathing on my pedals to get the Tigershark down the taxiway. Anyone else have extremely sensitive roll inputs? Seems that a half input on my Warthog is resulting in a full deflection of the controls in the game. Maybe the problems are linked.

In this case I was referring realism as, folks only wish to have historical adversaries flying against one another. Mig-21s vs. F-4s and F-5s, etc..... Should only aircraft that have enjoyed large production runs and decades of service be allowed in DCS? Wishing for an F-20 in the sim isn't "realistic" in many minds and therefore should not be allowed. If a developer is able to provide a well modeled Tigershark, with an accurate flight and systems model mind you, then why not have it in the sim. Also, I did stipulate that the Shark should be done much further down the road after the supply of, insert your favorite aircraft here, have been completed. I would prefer as much realism as we squeeze into the modules. I love DCS because it is a "hardcore sim". But I think it would be a disservice to this platform not to have a few well built "what if" aircraft in DCS.

Definitely one of those great "what if" planes! Maybe in a few years when the devs run out of popular planes to develop. We will start seeing stuff like this appear in DCS. Lots of folks will howl about how "unrealistic" it would be to have jets like this in the game though. Realism is a matter for server masters to take into account not sim developers in my opinion. Lots of planes to come ahead of her though and still lots of room for her also, here's hoping for a maybe from someone in the future! F-20 Tiger Shark Promo video!

Wow that hot gas ingestion is readily apparent in night videos! Almost looked like the compressor was stalling with the flames popping in front of the fan.

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
Cool Breeze replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Well regardless where the blame "should" have gone the guy made a decision that nearly killed two fellow aviators. He made his decision and got hammered for it. The guy stayed in the Navy for twenty plus years. I'll honor him for sticking with it and living with a decision that would haunt me. -

I wouldn't exactly say he had his career ruined by anyone but himself. When you have a visually confirmed friendly aircraft in front of you, during a training exercising mind you, I would question his decision making skills in a high performance fighter. I'm not saying the orders couldn't have been clearer, but friendly fire isn't friendly. Besides seems like he landed a pretty cushy job because he has family in high places. Making it all the way to Captain? He's lucky he wasn't court marshalled and thrown out of the navy. -

I found a mildly amusing/scary story about a Tomcat accidentally shooting down an Air Force Phantom during a training exercise in the Med. http://www.wearethemighty.com/articles/that-time-a-navy-f-14-accidentally-on-purpose-shot-down-an-air-force-f-4-during-an-exercise -

All you have to do is barrel roll through the tracers! The cannon shells will never hit you![emoji106] -
DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!

Speculating that it will be some time next year. Leatherneck already has two modules plus maps they have to release this year. ED has two possibly three aircraft to release and a map . VEAO has two as well. Belaimteks' Tiger II isn't get released until July possibly August. If they optimistically released one per month after the Tiger II then maybe end of the first quarter next year into the second quarter. Just my uninformed speculation mind you. I'm hoping it will be sooner, but with very little news coming from anyone it's hard to be optimistic. Two weeks for sure![emoji23] -
Lol probably not any worse than the beck seat guys in the strategic bombers! That would be extremely tight!

Interesting.... Never would have considered this issues!

gun and rockets version part of the original package?
Cool Breeze replied to WildBillKelsoe's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
I would think that you would have to much vibration and movement trying to mount a SOFLAM in a helicopter. Trying to keep a laser designator on target from a moving platform seems like an exercise in frustration. At least for a human operator anyway. It would be easier to drop the team off and let them set-up an OP. No noisy aircraft hovering about then. -
Proper hand signals are a must have! We have to be able to give the Cat officer a salute, and enemy fighter pilots the bird![emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

DCS: Spitfire Mk LF IXc Discussion
Cool Breeze replied to Yo-Yo's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Nice video thanks for sharing! The whistling sound is possibly air going through the radiators. You get a similar sounds coming from the Corsair in demonstration flights. -
None yet unfortunately. Just hope and dreams my friend. Just hopes and dreams. I'm not expecting anything in the way of new maps or aircraft until ED has finished the integration of 1.5 and 2.0..

Who is to say that this will be worked on to the exclusion of other projects? I don't have a specific thread, but I'm sure that they have said that several modules are very near completion, and are only awaiting for certain tools, ie air to ground radar. Before they are ready to be released. It's not at if developers must be holistically focused on a single module at a time. I would love to see the Harrier before anything else is release, but I don't exactly want RAZBAM to work on it to the detriment of their other projects.

I've always been a keen admirer of just how tough the 'Jug was back in the day, and I'm always on the look out for examples of how rugged and dependable she was. WW2 in Color has some great examples of not just the Thunderbolt, but others as well.

The Gazelle is supposed to be getting multi-crew in the future no ETA has been proposed that I have seen. The Hawk isn't getting multi-crew any time soon as VEAO says they must build the cockpit and rework most of the coding to allow it. So its very low on their priorities. The Belsimtek modules.... who knows they may get around to it they may not. I hope they do implement it. An actual working crew chief/gunner position would be great!

Polychop has said that they are only going to be working on aircraft for the foreseeable future. They aren't interested in building maps and terrain.

Gazelle Hot3 Missile - Extending the Range
Cool Breeze replied to SUNTSAG's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Lanius has a pretty good explanation about how the extended range is possible. After the wire breaks the missle just continues on a ballistic trajectory and as the rocket motor will continue to burn after the wire breaks it's not implausible. It would be nice to hear from a subject matter expert and the Devs though. -
The F-5 will be available for both versions. Like the Gazelle it just may take some time to integrate. I believe ED is bringing the 1.5 Georgia code up to the 2.0 level. Since they are working with three versions of DCS they are incrementally releasing the modules in each version. So they can squash bugs and test at each step. 1.5 Georgia and 2.0 NTTR are eventually going to be merged into "2.5" I think it is being called.

I'm voting Yes for the simple fact that if you guys have a passion for an aircraft. We as a community will get a better aircraft! If you have access to specific aircraft this makes recreating the aircraft easier, because you have source material closer at hand. Personally, the COIN roll is very neat with the right scenarios. Flying low and slow is a nice change from the fast movers every now and then. Could we use some other heavier aircraft certainly! F-105 Thunder Chief, AD-1 Skyraider, OV-10 Bronco, F-104 Starfighter, F-4 Phantom, Early Migs, Sukhois, any of the numerous Mirage series ...... I can go on for a good while of all of the great historic and unique aircraft I would love to see in DCS. While certain modules may not have the cult following of others. You have many folks that would buy almost anything you produce, short of a Cessna 172! Just kidding, I'm sure there are a few that would buy even straight civil aircraft. What ever RAZBAM wants to make, build it, and someone will want to fly it! I'm looking forward to what ever gents!:joystick::pilotfly: Even the fast movers have respect for the guys flying the COIN birds! [ame] [/ame]
