The British used specialized drums for their dam busting missions. In the Pacific theater B-25 Mitchell's were used for anti-shipping strikes using 500 pound general purpose bombs as well as some specialized types. Still photos of the Mitchell in action during an anti-shipping raid. http://rarehistoricalphotos.com/b-25-bombs-kaibokan-ship-1945/ Mitchell's using specialized bombs over land during a training exercise.

Gives the single attacking aircraft a problem. If he attacks either defender, the wingman will be able to immediately go on the offensive.

I have no idea just how long a road it has been for you all Cobra. We do appreciate the hard work the Leatherneck has put into your products!

How about some flyby videos!

While their not even in the same league as the Rb-4 and most weren't used until very late in the war. There were several guided munitions used during WW 2. Most were command guided but there were some autonomous weapons like the ASM-N-2 Bat and the VB-6 Felix. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASM-N-2_Bat https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/VB-6_Felix Thanks for being the RB-4 into its own sub-forum.

Jockey if you don't mind a bit of speculation. A is likely used to tie either a sidewinder or the TCS (television camera set) to the radar. B is a radar modes selector switch C is another selector probably used to move between certain radar modes and the TCS on the RIOs display. This is just my speculation, if anyone has any knowledge as to their actual function please feel free to correct me.

Ok, time for a, "why is this designed this way" question. Why is the editor setup to give a "to" wind direction, when we receive a "from" wind direction in game. Setting up a bit of crosswind training practice flying into Senaki-Kolkhi. Landing on runway 09 with a 20 knot left to right crosswind from due north 00 degrees. When you actually fly the mission the wind is coming from due South 180 degrees. Thanks folks!

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
Cool Breeze replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
If your referring to the Tomcat being put on ice to develop the Viggen and Corsair I believed you are incorrect. There has been many updates on the Tomcat throughout the year. GIFs, short videos, and several screenshots showing its progress. She is very much in the works. Now Leatherneck have said that work on the Corsair was slowed to allow for the development of new tools, some new software no doubt, but I also suspect it was to allow for the final push on the Viggen. We have received little to no information on the Corsair, Viggen, and Tomcat, because I'm sure developers want less distractions. With the way communities jump to conclusions and start criticising works in progress is their business and prerogative. Lots of moving parts so keep the faith. [emoji6] -
Darn, thought I had it with the following sentence, but your words do add a bit of bold text I was missing. [emoji6] Being able to re-create parts of the book with the modules in development, most notably the Tomcat, Corsair, Intruder, Hornet, and Harrier, is something I look forward to attempting. The amount of work Leatherneck is pouring into the Tomcat and the Phoenix is really awesome!

If you have the time to read Tom Clancy, check out Red Storm Rising. It has a serious nightmare scenario with Russian strategic bomber forces operating in the North Atlantic against NATO carrier groups and naval convoys. That alone could be the basis for several very good scenarios involving the Phoenix and our beloved Tomcat! Now if there were a North Atlantic map in the works!:music_whistling::pilotfly:

Video crew for you know what I'm down! [emoji3] How do you propose to film!

I'll get back to you on the rest, but I believe you need to use the programming software from Saitek to set on/off switches. Unfortunately, I use Track IR so I can't help with the Vive. Is there any way to set up a re-center hotkey in the Vive software? This gentleman says the default key is "k" to re-center. As "k" is the keyboard default in DCS I would see if it can be re-mapped in the Vive software, or add a modifier such as "shift", "control", or "alt". Depending on how much you use the keyboard. https://descendentstudios.com/community/topic/3959-htc-vive-key-to-recenter/ Hope that helps!

I think it would be a question to ask Cobra. Reading about how complex the crew work load was for the Tomcat. It seems to me that building the "AI" would be another form of ASM. I would think it to be module specific, and an entire new system would be required for the next module. So, maybe Belsimtek is building their own and that is why we haven't seen the Hind or Cobra yet. As far a what is transferred, if everything goes back to ED would Leatherneck bother to create their own radar for the Viggen. I think that software developed by each group would be their own, even if it is based on the Edge engine. ED keep tight hold on their intellectual property and are very good about who they let develop for them in my opinion. Third parties have to be able to keep software they develop in house for themselves other wise why have separate developers. I'm positive there is a good amount of collaboration between the third parties. Is it a, "hey I'll swap you a radar mapping system for your engine model.", or just trading programing tips? As the Tootsie pop commercial says, "The world may never know...".

Sorry, I meant who was producing the DCS module.
-
Jester AI is proprietary tech for Leatherneck. Unless they are willing to license it, not a bad idea in my opinion, Belsimtek are going to have to build their own.

Who is the Jaguar being built by?

While I certainly know that the P-47 isn't carrier capable. I wonder if this would be out of the realm of possibilities later down the road.

Cobra, with Wags' recent announcement that the merger of 1.5 and 2.0 being delayed until the Georgia map is brought up to their T4 standard. Announcement from Wags: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2851944&postcount=1 Is there any chance that we could get the Corsair in DCS before the merger and the Iwo Jima Map?

According to the training flights it's normal. Just a normal takeoff requires quite a bit of nose down trim. Even more is required if weapons are loaded.

Ok, well at least I'm not the only one then! Lol! She is definitely a twitchy little jet.:joystick: Maybe they will tone them down later. Still, I've already had a really fun couple of hours! I can't wait to get her out to Nellis!

Have you opened up the modules tab in 1.5? An inset window should appear with a prompt to download. Make sure you have you key copied and ready to paste into the activation window. At the moment she is only available in 1.5 and the beta I believe, not ready for NTTR yet unfortunately.
