  1. With so many iterations of various weapons and updated systems including Mavericks, S/A page, and complicated RADAR, I've gotten so confused and disillusioned that I had to take a break from the Hornet; needed some flying time with the old reliable A-10. I wish there were some YT videos recently updated that could/would tie all this together.
  2. @WINWING.....is there going to be a CN public release event soon? I'm in Shanghai and might want to attend.
  3. I have several multiple entries as shown in attachment for the following switches. They are all highlighted in gold and the hint line on mouse-over says 'Different actions have identical description!' It's on: HOTAS Boat Switch Aft HOTAS Boat Switch Forward HOTAS Pinky Switch Aft HOTAS Pinky Switch Forward Left Engine Oper Ign/Norm Right Engine Oper Ign/Norm I do NOT have any conflicting or duplicate assignments and do not have multiple devices [TH HOTAS Throttle, Control Stick, etc] doing the same task. This suddenly began after last update earlier this week, Aug18. It does not appear on any other aircraft. Anybody know what this is about or how to correct? Thanks,
  4. Is this happening on initial T/O or only after a previous landing? I've had a serious pitch up like your describing after a landing and taxi'ing back to relaunch.
  5. I see people talking about 'wheelbrakes Axis Inverted' and it's confusing me because I DID have Seitek Cessna pedals and they were inverted but now my new TM TPR pedals are NOT inverted. Anybody know what is correct for TPGs? See attached screenshot. Regarding the braking itself, I have no problems stopping as long as my landing is good. If I flair at all then it can be a problem; especially at Batumi. I just hit the deck, extend speedbrake and stuff the pedals WITHOUT NWS engaged.
  6. and then there's that apparently outdated concept of 'old school' learning whereas we research the general weight characteristics of the TGP (661), ALQ-131 (672), ALQ-184 (474) and the other weapons and stores, and perhaps even document on a knee-board for our own personal use. Sounds crazy I know, but that's what they used to do before Googl'ng from the cockpit became the rave for pilots.:music_whistling:
  7. Sad....as bad as I am in air combat I would have bought this bird just to fly. One of the most successful modern fighters and they let it sit for some reason.
  8. Just some quick questions: Is the F-15 a clickable or basically a keyboard cockpit? If just keyboard, is there any plan to make this clickable like the rest of the modern A/C. Thanks
  9. Obviously it would depend upon the target (structure, tank vs SAM) , and altitude but in general a sloping turn is no problem as long as your TGP isn't masked....so try and keep your turn to the same side as the TGP. As Vitormouraa suggests, you have a pretty good idea of drop time +/-13 seconds 'sparkle time' so even a full 180 can be done pretty smoothly without masking TGP. I've done more radical 180 turns to avoid closing in on the SAM's range and still have time to sparkle. I also recommend NOT using auto-laze if you're planning a radical egress immediately after pickle; best to be in a somewhat stable flight. Happy hunting!
  10. I don't know of any nation that has the capability for carrier launch/recovery of F/A-18 flights since nobody except Spain has a carrier, and it certainly can't do it. My own little mini-missions are primarily for Land based attacks but always have an option for a stripped bird hop to the boat for refueling and rearming. Hopefully the good mission creators will adopt that kind of planning in the future.
  11. Somehow, recently I changed a setting in what drive the updates are downloaded and run from. I'm assuming the default is the C:/ drive but now it is my G:/ drive. As the G:/ drive is a Win10 bitlocker drive it is sometimes locked out and the update is inaccessible. Can someone please tell me where I can reset the updates to download to another accessible drive? Appreciate your help, thanks
  12. Sorry guys, my comment on AAR is a PERSONAL limitation, nothing about the SIM. My sentence error "until that can is competently done" was meant to read 'until I can competently do it'. I see some of you guys/gals accomplish it like I use a burger shop drive-thru but it's still virtually impossible for ME after hours of trial and error. My bad.
  13. I've experienced this annoyance before as well...so irritating that I scrapped the 2nd half of an otherwise exhilarating mission..what a pisser. Anyway, thanks for bringing it up and thanks to Py for the solution; I'll test that out on my next flight. It would be cool if someone with a lot of hours in this plane would document these as an in-flight manual, would make a great addition to the kneeboard. This plane makes a lot of noises without really telling me what she's trying to say...maybe that's why we lovingly refer to planes as female :)
  14. I think it would depend on your planned employment, your personal skill sets. I've got some eye limitations that really affect my abilities in close air combat so I'm not effective in the A/A role of a fighter. I'll let others lead the pack and get air superiority taken care of. In that regards, I'll agree with KZIAL that you can have a lot of fun. On the ground-pounding role of attack (the role I want to pursue) I think it's still quite limited in weapons and precision. Until the tpod is available it's quite limited in the ability to target without JTAC assistance. There too I'll agree with KZIAL at 30%. The biggest limitation for me personally is the A:A Refueling; until that can is competently done, OR they allow a 'cheat mode' [stay within certain parameters] much of the flying is quite limited to near shore if based on a carrier. Carrier launch & recovery is a blast even though there is more to do on the COMS aspect. There's sufficient systems employed for Nav but coordinating UTM is a disappointment considering how far the team has gone. Without any experience with other fighter modules (only A-10) I would say this is NOT ready for combat employment but still a pleasure to drive around.
  15. @macedk...."Search your controls for flashlight " Clever....you could've mentioned doing that with LAlt-L and saved me a little time but I enjoyed the hunt. Thanks...learned a little more today:doh: Kinda of an important key binding as it gives a lot better view of cockpit then the installed lighting, especially for newer pilots in this a/c
  16. NVG probably require power from Gen after startup, not able to test right now. Flashlight....didn't know there was a working flashlight, can you elaborate. That might solve my dilemma :)
  17. Regarding cockpit light controls, am I correct that its all on the right panel below the Anti-Ice switch? This cockpit seems darker than a well-diggers ass at night; I can't even find these switches before lighting up some generator juice. Am I missing something during the early phase of startup to illuminate the cockpit? Is there a spotlight like the A-10 so I can visually/mentally review the cockpit before initiating the startup procedure?
  18. I can't find any 'bug' here, tried it with virtually every combination with canopy, parking brakes, wing position, recovery hook, even with only 1 engine started , etc. The only factor in Ground Crew pulling the chocks is the Launch Bar; it MUST be retracted regardless of parking breaks or canopy open/closed.
  19. I would have thought that since they released a HOTAS - TPR (Rudder Pedals) combined driver install EXE, they would have released a newer calibration EXE as well. Kinda weird that it's so hard to find on their website.
  20. Followed all your instructions and found errors on USB after View - 'Show Hidden Devices', there were 12 errors but no warning symbol. I removed all these, restarted...did all the shit and it's still not recognized. I firmly now believe it's a hardware issue. Thankfully there are a ton of PC 'engineers' here in Shanghai so I'll let them sort it out. Worst case scenario; replace with new TM TFRP or maybe give up smokin' crack for a month and go for the TM TPR's :smilewink: That's a good excuse:music_whistling: Pfeil...we can call this 'case closed' for now, and I really appreciate your help on this aircraft catastrophe...I'm sure I'll get over emotional distress with new TPR's Thanks,
  21. @Snacko...regarding animated deck crew I think that would be a cool mod but also include a 'plane captain' (i think that's the term) that goes through the startup procedures as well...both on-deck or airfield.
  22. @Snacko.....you're the aviator, and an officer...he's enlisted and would never question the intelligence, qualifications and experience of an officer. Who is he to question how best to leave the deck? He does however have a little sense of humor :)
  23. Not using hub, just direct USB port on laptop. I plug in my HOTAS (to laptop) and it responds as seen in attached image, you can see the response I get from plugging in the Saitek pedals. Not sure what this means...pedals are FUBAR or just a driver problem.
