  1. The case for the prosecution....rests. :music_whistling:
  2. OK thanks, will have a look.
  3. So not wishing to appear too dumb...but is this only good for the F18? Could these setting work on other aircraft?
  4. Great work! Many thanks for sharing this with the community.
  5. After watching about 2 minutes I clicked it off, thought it was just me...obviusoly not.
  6. Congratulations Miles on reaching this milestone (no mean feat in itself!). I wish you continuing success and look forward to getting my hands on one as and when they are ready to go. Cheers!
  7. Ha ha nice one mate. You really do crack me up! Glad to be of service! Captain Obvious signing off...
  8. So quite literally...as the Actress said to the Bishop...
  9. First wanted to say WOW! Impressive additions to the design, well done that man! Its all coming together nicely! As far as naming conventions are going, looks like the student has become the master! :) The only alternative I could come up with is PPS - Peripheral Point Selection.
  10. Anyone feeling hungry? Fancy a roll maybe???
  11. No words...
  12. Thanks for the link, interesting times ahead! Blimey though, that looks so like a rift I had to look at mine to see if they were the same. (They're not, but its close).
  13. Really??? What is this witchcraft you speak of! :D
  14. Well, you know the old saying...the tool is only as good as its operator. (and tools don't come much bigger than me!)
  15. Oh, damn you Colonials! You've seen through me clearer than a FLIR image of a fat lass sweating in a cold gym! :D
  16. I would just like to clarify that my original point about the cars was literally only about the design of the FCU's and I was certainly not trying to make any smart arse comparison that PointCTL is anything like a virtual 3 wheeler! If that is how it's been interrupted I can only apologise Miles, that really wasn't my intent!
  17. Nice 1! I've often lamented the fact that none of the main joystick makers has added a decent landing gear handle to their line up.
  18. Hi Miles, Thanks for the update. Looking great and good to hear that the FCU's feel right! I have a feeling that in a months time your product is going to come in very handy for the button-fest that will be the release of the F14! :) Heres hoping that you can get this out the door by then...no pressure! :D
  19. No, but as I said (before my slightly flippant comment about cars...) "While I would agree that function over aesthetics should always win the day, my thoughts on streamlining the FCU was more along the ergonomics line in that if it's too boxy it may not feel as unobtrusive as something that echoes the sleek lines of the digit it is designed to sit on." My point about cars was to highlight the fact that the two vehicles do exactly the same thing. i.e get you from a to b. But most would choose the nicer looking model if given the chance (even though you can not see what it looks like once your inside it). If getting the Bugatti required me waiting a further 5 years before I could drive to work, well yes I may well go for the 3 wheeler...maybe...
  20. Feedback can be tricky, either to give but also receive. I'm glad to hear Miles, that you have actively encouraged it. Which may encourage others to pass on their constructive thoughts too, which may improve what is already looking like an awesome addition to our hobby. I did spend quite some time considering if I should mention it, especially as I would have preferred to offer an actual solution rather than just my opinion. I was going to try and sketch something out but time has not been friendly to me this week! While I would agree that function over aesthetics should always win the day, my thoughts on streamlining the FCU was more along the ergonomics line in that if it's too boxy it may not feel as unobtrusive as something that echoes the sleek lines of the digit it is designed to sit on. It also has to be said, many, including myself, would never shy away from a nice bit of eye candy! Consider if you will the problem. You need a form of transportation - if given the choice, which one would you prefer? OR @ AKA_Clutter I believe that the RIFT is what Miles has been working with, only more recently has he been trying to get the VIVE working (it had some issues with the sensor) so the short answer is yes! (Miles, please correct me if I'm wrong).
  21. A really great article. Well written and informative! Some great images and videos as well. Many thanks!
  22. @Dino Indeed. I think its basically a third wire is coming down right on the glide slope. 1st Wire is low 4th is high.
  23. Any landing you can walk away from... as they say!
  24. A very quick google search provided... "The goal of a perfect landing is to touch down such that your hook is exactly in the center of the wires. For a three-wire trap, that would be the second wire. For a four-wire trap, that would be between wires 2 and 3, with the hook then catching the 3-wire. Catching the 1-wire implies that you were a little behind the power curve on the approach, and didn’t control your descent rate properly." Seems to make sense.
