VSN flyable aircraft mods
tmansteve replied to razo+r's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Has anyone created a server with these great planes? Would be a great stopgap between other purchases. Hey Mike, cant remember but I know that Wings of Russia had some mods. Not sure if Migs were there. Think they disappeared. If I find anything, i will get back. -
Im UK flyer so afternoon or evening as time allows. Hope to connect
-
LRRP, thanks for the info. Ive been looking for your server every night this week. I will hopefully contact you tomorrow or Saturday. Looking forward to it

Tecumseh, that sounds interesting. Will have a look at that tonight. Cheers

T16000 Throttle Curves/Deadzones?
tmansteve replied to pistolpete01's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Hi there, did you setup your TM hotas X with curves etc? If so, good idea to start from there. I will be upgrading to the same stick setup as you from my TM hotas X. If you dont have any curves I can give you my settings that Im working with now. The best guides around, look at chucks guides. He gives you a setup for curves etc. Fantastic stuff Cant wait to get the new stick -
At last, got 2.5OB. Now to make new friends to fly with and get some enjoyment out of this. Just installed SRS, so another bit of kit. Fantastic!! Havent got Persian Gulf yet so will have to do with Caucasus and Nevada. Hope to see someone in the skies soon.

OK, many thanks for the info guys. I like the idea of username and split then callsign. See how it goes
-
I noticed that there is a edit to change your nickname in Multiplayer. Question is, do you use your Callsign that you have in your logbook or stick to username? It sounds daft but just need to know. When using radios and stuff Cheers
-
Think I will take your advice razo+r. That money could go to the F18 and Persian Gulf

I've read a lot about the T16000m Hotas. Not a lot of cash to throw at everything and thought it would be better than my Hotas X. I have to agree Tenkom, I do have problems with PIO. Everything is fine until I come over the runway or carrier and then it goes pear shaped. Would the rudder pedals help with refueling or am I grabbing at straws and more practice needed?
-
Many thanks also. That is a cracking good explanation.
-
Im finding it difficult controlling in a hover. Would rudder pedals help me, or is it just a glossy addon I dont really need? Could get another module or terrain with the money. Cheers

I just finished downloading and installing 2.5 OB and got rid of 1.5.8. Now I have both 2.5 versions so I can look for some good multiplay, so I have best of both. Also, when seeking out groups, check out their Facebook pages and Discord etc. Get to know them and maybe sign up. This is still far superior to the old days, you had nothing.
-
Many thanks Rudel. Never done this before and sounds interesting.

Is it possible to copy over my config files from 2.5 stable to 2.5 OB? Options, joystick, etc? Cheers
-
Cheers Ramsay Will take a look just in case I need to add any

Hi Just installed 2.5 OB to run alongside my stable version. Do I have to add another set of protocols to my router for DCS OB to join the multiplayer servers? If so, where do i find the TCP and UDP settings? Cheers
-
Hey greyman, sorry for not getting back. I am going to try that this weekend and hope to get it sorted. Other than that, its working great. Noticed that when I join a multiplayer mission, Viacom wouldnt reply to my requests. Is this due to the actual multiplayer mission or is there something I havent done? I will check if the missions have easy comms on or off, that could be it. If easy comms are set for the mission and i dont hear a reply, any ideas? Update: Sorted by allowing UDP settings in router and making sure Multi has Easy Comms=yes Hooray!!!!! Cheers

I was frustrated to see that whenever I wanted to join in multiplayer, all of my invites were for open beta and I have 2.5 stable. I personally feel that as the beta version will always be an ongoing development, that the need for a stable version is irrelevant. If as is said, the beta version is a test bed and any problems are sorted which I think is fab, its just like having the full game and having patches to update it. So whats the point, if you play single player or multiplayer, keep just the open beta and keep fixing it as we go along. I will be downloading the open beta as soon as possible so I can fly some cracking multiplay and also benefit with the modules I have.

Thanks Svsmokey. I think I will keep it for a bit just in case. Then when I am ready, remove it

I updated from 1.5.8 stable to 2.5 stable and have been with 2.5 for some time now. As I am not using 1.5.8, can this be uninstalled or do I still need it in conjunction with 2.5? If it is not needed, is it a straight forward removal? I want to install 2.5 beta as there seems to be more multiplayer servers and running out of space on my hd. Cheers
-
LRRP, Been busy but will look at downloading beta version when time allows. Wish I had done this a while ago. Cheers for the replies
-
Thanks ever so much Maverick. At last, thats all i needed to know. I am using 2.5 stable up to date. Understand the dcs side after a lot of digging. I suppose a lot more will be on the beta version. Just hope that everything gets merged one day. Will check out my 1.5.8 as well just in case. Once again, a big thank you.

Sorry for sounding thick but is there a tutorial regarding joining different servers? I have managed to join a multiplayer server through DCS and found no one there lol. I have had invites and some use Discord and others Teamspeak. So I take it that the servers are running on these as well as DCS. Do I load up discord or teamspeak and join them there? I thought they were for communication only. A little confusing. I have used Tunggle in the past, are they similar? Cheers
