Thanks for the info Sparky and boscoh. I tried again for a few hours and I'm pulling my hair out (nearly bald anyway) ha ha. I've tried so many adjustments to the curves and deadzone I'm getting fed up with it. I know this might be crap but, if there was an autopilot for it so that while you are practicing getting it right, you could see exactly the way to go. I think with my joystick, it's either one way or the other, no middle ground. Gentle, minute adjustments does nothing and then a little more and you are into PIO. I can fly formation with it OK, but when the basket is on it's way, the slightest movement and forget it. I think I will continue to try now and again but will fly fully tanked for the time being.

Thanks zhukov032186 I will take a look, but with upgrades, its still a minefield if money is tight. Need something middle of the road to have some confidence with.

Thanks boscoh for your help. The joystick is set on a solid worktop and cables are stored ok. I don't think I will be filing anything. I will try your settings and see how it goes. I totally agree with you regarding the joystick upgrade.

Can SimpleRadio Standalone work alongside Viacom Pro?

I'm getting very frustrated with this guys. I can stay behind the tanker no problem, but as soon as I need to do small changes to position, it all goes pear shaped. I have softened the stick and adjusted the Axis on Pitch,Roll and Rudder. This happens to all modules. General flying, landing etc, no problems. At the moment, my settings are Deadzone 10, Curvature 30. Should I loosen the stick fully, or should I be thinking of getting a better joystick. It could be me getting nervous near the end. I was thinking of setting my Hat switch to Roll as I have Pitch set already. Fed up with practising and watching videos for such a long time and getting nowhere. Any pointers to joystick etc would be great

I have looked at the manual for 2.5.5 and cant see any update to PTT config with new wheel selection. What are the settings and their meanings? Would be great thanks Also, I never see that the module has been selected in config. Any ideas or just leave it.

Are there any F-18 skins I can download to use with this mod? Looking for RAF etc. Cheers

OK Hubson. The flyby sounds too whiney for me and as I have seen and heard them as they used to fly over my house very low, I can say that I never heard it that way. I will do as you said and look in the coremods folder and try to find out. I tried another sound mod but it didn't do anything that I was looking for.

Is there any chance you could add something for the AV8NB? The flyby sound is not right. I've been close to them where I live and it never sounded like that. If not, is there a way I can work on it? Not sure which file they use for the flyby.

The F18 is a great mod, but I was wondering if the wings will fold. Tried the keyboard command and nothing happened. I had more luck with the refueling boom. Got that to work by changing the command. Any help would be great. Also, lining up the plane by using U command doesnt seem to work? Update: Got the wings to fold. Not sure if there was a bug, but after last update, they work. Lights for refueling boom will be next to test as that wasn't working or the key command needs changing. Found a post concerning the U command so all round happy.

The work done here is amazing and needs some recognition. This is the best sound I have heard period. I think a lot of the module makers need to sit up and listen to this, as this standard should be the norm as I have found many left wanting in the sound department. Cracking work, and I hope it continues. Many thanks for this great mod

When requesting taxi on carrier, reply kept looping and ending before the end until I took off. Would it clear if I restarted mission or should I restart DCS? Also, in the Config, there is a new switch for the radios. Is there a update in the manual for this? Haven't had time to look yet but will shortly.

Everything was set. It was after returning to the map to adjust a couple of things. Worked OK on Caucasus map. I got other missions to work with Nevada so could have got stuck somewhere when saving.

I think it would be great if ED would unify the comms for multiplayer and have a standard like the Simple Standalone Radio and everyone use the same. The problem for me, is with so many bits of software needed to join different servers. I do hope this does get sorted sometime

Released the tension of the joystick by 1 1/2 turns which has made a huge difference. Still gonna look at a better joystick for the future

I see. Not going to be with you guys until I can fathom out the loss of sound in the cockpit. Might be an ongoing problem, so need to get it sorted pretty quickly

Update: Wow, adjusted the curves a bit. 10 Deadzone - 30 Curvature on Pitch and Roll. Rudder 25 Curvature. Well, I managed to land it. Not the best but takeoff was a breeze. I could turn the plane around and when it went into PIO I managed to get out of that as well. These settings are a great starting point for me, so I will be practicing carrier landing tomorrow.

Just noticed this thread. I have the same problem. I've only just got back into the Sabre and after being in the mission for a while the cockpit sound just stops. All external sounds are fine, flyby etc. When I restart the mission, all sounds are good for a while again and then stops. Everything was working great a while back. So going to test it out in 1.5.8 as using 2.5.2 stable at mo. Will report back if I find anything.

I have just installed teamspeak 3 and now find others using discord. Is discord another way of communication or is this a server for dcs? I seem to be chasing my tail working out what software I need for multiplayer.

LRRP Im using 2.5 stable. Can i still fly or is this only for beta? Sorry about this as so many versions out there its a little confusing. As I live in the UK, not able to fly until later in the day but will keep my eyes open for you and connect up teamspeak Cheers
