  1. Thanks for the hint. I'll have to google/check Chuck's guide to find out how. But I'm sure it might help. I had no problems for the first two LZ, but yesterday, I didn't have enough power to get up to the 3rd. Edit: BTW, landing and catching up most of the time isn't the problem. In my current attempt, I was approaching LZ 4 when the wingman AGAIN decided to crash with me. So that's the real annoying thing in this mission. This is the 3rd time I failed because the AI killed my Mi-8 :(
  2. ...I did not yet pass it. But I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
  3. I'm just wondering if this changed over time (since the posts are from 2015). IMO it's no problem to keep the pace with the other helos. In fact, the more difficult part is that they change the speed quite often when climbing above the hills - so I often overtake them. After more than 10 attempts, I'm finally able to follow them till the landing zones. BUT the real frustrating part is the wingman. He flew into me several times. Last attempt, when I finally landed on LZ3, he decided to land too close to my blades, killing my helo...(see screenshots), so it's another fail (guess how I amused I was...not at all). I can't even remember how often I tried the mission now, but I'd say around 15 times. So far I enjoyed the campaign, but this mission is actually frustrating because of the AI.
  4. To be slightly more precise: It can't be used in DCS 2 but it will work in 2.5 the way Greg wrote. PS Looking forward to fly the campaign again on the new map once it's being released.
  5. D.h. Purple Heart für MoeZ? ;-) Danke für die Auswertung.
  6. Yes, I turn it up above the "line" (highlighted yellow on the screenshot) on the indicator. Then I turn it back, so the throttle indicator (the two bigger bars on the outside) line up with the yellow highlighted bar.
  7. Yes, same here. That's why I was confused if I always made it wrong so far. I also put the throttle slightly up first and then back to the idle position.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I'll install the mod in that case and I'll try to start the engine with throttle slightly opened. However, I'm slightly confused...what is the proper location? So far I always opened it a bit and then closed it until again (so it was slightly opened in the end). That's how I learnt the ramp start.
  9. Whenever I think I know all the switches in the Huey, I noticed that I don't ;-) At least I now know what the DC circuit breakers are and where they are located so your mission already taught me something. Anyway, I still have troubles to start the engine. When I press the engine start button as usual, it first seems to work fine but then, the mail fuel switch goes back to off and the RPM drop back again. And actually I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Maybe I oversaw something. I'll give it another try another day. Furthermore, do I need to install the mentioned Upuaut mods when I have the "complete upuaut mod"? Since it's called "complete", I suppose everything from Upuaut is in there?
  11. Thanks, new Huey missions are always appreciated :-) I'll give it a try later this week and I'll report my feedback. I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle this task, because I'd say I fly the Huey rather rough.... but I'll try.
  12. Thanks, I just tried it out when the Hip was heavily loaded. The rotor RMP indeed dropped more and more (below 80%) and it wasn't possible to take off. When I lowered the collective, the RPM recovered again.
  13. I had the same fear. But playing the campaign made me a better Huey pilot though. There were 2 missions that took me a huge amount of attempts, but like Greg said - in thr end it's rewarding when you manage to finish it. I'm sure you'll not regret the purchase.
  14. Thanks for the additional hints. I'm glad you told me because I sometimes have the generator issues. It became a lot better since I'm more careful with the collective, but sometimes it still happens. I'm not completely sure which instrument you're talking about though? The Main Rotor Tachometer or the Two-Pointer Engine Tachometer? The instrumental scanning is something I'll try to adapt. So far I'd say I'm pretty fixed onto the instrument I'm currently needing (unless I fly the Huey in dark/foggy condition). So there's for sure room for improvement. But (especially with the Huey where I have many flight hours) I tend to fly by visual and by "experience" w/o checking the instruments that carefully.
  16. I had the same problem. So if somebody else encounters this problem - the map can be found under \DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Missions\Campaigns\en_Spring_General_map.png However, I noticed a small issue in the german version of this mission. When you're asked to give the coordinates and you chose the first option (the correct one), then the 3rd option is not deleted from the F10 menu (see 2nd screenshot). This was misleading especially because it takes a while until you get another message and because the "report coordinates" message doesn't disapper for a while. So I thought I need to get additional, more accurate coordinates and chosed the 3rd, remaining option. The result was that I received two messages after that. First, success (because of the 1st grid) and soon after mission failed/friendly fire because I've also chosen the 3rd grid. Long story short, once you've reported the grid, the 3rd option should be removed from the F10 menu as well.
  17. Thanks Simicro, I found the map under \DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\Missions\Campaigns\en_Spring_General_map.png You'll never find out without that ;-)
  20. In the above mentioned campaign mission, you're asked to give the coordinates for the fire support (because the weapons of the Mi-8 are dammaged). However, how do I find out the correct coordinates? The "additional" map with the grid is missing in the kneeboard. I simply chosed one option and after that, I only had another option left. But soon after, I was told that there was friendly fire and that the mission failed. Edit: I now tried out all 3 options by trial and error... 1st grid: fire towards the forest which seems right, but mission fails anyway with friendly fire 2nd grid: no friendly fire, but wrong grid, so you have to rescue the pilot under fire (did not find out how/where though) 3rd grid: friendly fire, mission failed So I'm not sure if option 1 would be the correct option and if it maybe simply was bad luck that own troops were hit? It was the only time when the fire was toward the forest. Maybe it was just buggy.
  21. Oh, thanks...I never noticed the VSI indicator there (only the slow speed indicator). Great advise - and it's indeed a lot more responsive as I just noticed.
  22. When I try to assign buttons in the GUI, it seems like some buttons are not "supported" or recognized by DCS. Button 8 as well as the x/y Axis on the throttle But in the Windows game controller settings, those buttons are working. Did anybody else experience that problem? Any idea how to get those buttons working in DCS? Edit: Oops, found out myself. Stupid mistake from myself (I clicked on the wrong column to assign the buttons). Everything is working fine.
So verlierst Du keine Aktivierung.
