I will try then. The other book you mention, F-15 Eagle Engaged, it's also written by Steve Davies. I'm surprised that his F/A-18 book doesn't match up his other F-15 books.
Like DACO series, they are a valuable source for modelers, with lots of pictures. Unfortunately, little text goes along with these books and only scarce info can be found on aircraft development, systems etc
But "Hornet: The inside story of the F/A-18" is more like a reading book, am I right? The "Owner workshop manual" is the proper book style, but unfortunately it looks quite shallow. It's funny that you can find really deep monographs on the TSR2, but it's almost impossible to find quality tech books on regular aircraft like the Hornet or the Viper :(
79$ for an unfinished module and a lot of promises is already pricey and way out of the sweet point. Sell it at 40$ and they will get 10x more orders, do the math, it works out...
Do you have it? Does it have extensive information about the legacy hornets? It looks more focused on the super. I'm looking for the definitive hornet Bible
And that's OK except for the fact that those guys that should be dealing with more complicated systems apparently are working on the Viper right now.
That's the appreciation that we have from outside
Hi! I enjoyed a lot the F-15E book written by Steve Davies and I wonder if there is good F-18 technical books out there, with info on the development, different versions, avionics and a little bit on the operation of this monster. Legacy Hornet only
Thanks!
Yeah, we complain a lot because we want this module to become the absolute reference in modern military aviation simulation and still is not there, but it's very enjoyable and hopefully development will speed up when the F-16 catches up in features
I think you are mixing up IFF and NCTR - in the cases 1) and 2) at least. In the current implementation it's necessary to press SCS for run an IFF interrogation on the current L&S
Not the version modelled. The ERDL model includes a datalink and is capable of downfeeding video to the hornet enabling the pilot to manually select the final Target with pin point accuracy
Cool videos don't hurt and help a lot to promote. There are plenty of great cinematic video makers in this forum that wouldn't mind to get an early access to the JF-17 in exchange.
