  1. Yep, and I can see the whole HUD display as you described.
  2. Thanks for this link, I'll try it out once I get some free time. Glad to see this is useful for you, but as a Mi-8 pilot, I think it will be even more useful if I make the script to display distances between waypoints for a more convenient doppler navigation setup :D
  3. No it's fixed forever… Don't know why it affects the F-15 and A-10 only, not the russian fighters. Someone told me that the A-10's HUD is naturally too large to fit entirely in the glass.
  4. Hello Toby, There is nothing else to download, the script uses DCS original features only. The main critical thing to do is putting the script file in the correct aircraft's kneeboard directory to make it work. Just use the main script file (the first one to download) for testing. If the directory is correct, the flight plan should appear just fine in the kneeboard. EDIT: All the pictures included in the first post are dead. Photobucket is unreliable. I must find another image host.
  5. This game fits this aircraft's era. In the F-14B we will get Afterburner II
  6. I don't understand why you're glad. You will not get your stick as soon as the others and you lost a price reduction for the next products :dunno:
  7. 1. a – even though I would consider natural if you release a F-1E only 2. b 3. a+b depending on the version 4. b – complete the C-101 and a F-1C at first. We'll see then.
  8. I 100% agree with you. But there are already tons of reminders scattered in this forum. It's just the way it is presented in this very topic that annoys me.
  9. The Mirage 2000C is roughly played in the same manner as the FC3 air superiority planes. It is more complex to use, but the main advantage is that you deals with functional switches and indicators, not blind keyboard commands and a dead cockpit. The other advantage is its ergonomics that makes this aircraft very easy and comfortable to use even compared to FC3 aircraft. This module can already do all things the FC3 air-to-air fighters can do, you're free to explore or not the more complex functions. I'd say go for it.
  10. Most of the requested features have nothing to do with multi million $ simulator. Russian humor… Can't this topic just die ? Its unjustified hate towards the facts has a tendency to attract shame to the community.
  11. I don't know exactly how you will process the results but I hope that they will be considered with the current situation of DCS, and that you will not want to preserve these fragmentation figures. Let me explain. I want to play in the same way real pilots do, and I suspect that most of us want that too. Depending on each people's difficulties, there are the current solutions : – Single player for those who don't have enough time flexibility to fly among online squadrons, or are MP shy, or feeling that they are not skilled enough to engage in PvP, or simply need to train and study in a controlled environment. However the AI, ATC and CGI are far from perfect, and the player is left to his own device. – Coop multiplayer : for those who really want at all cost to play like real pilots. The costs are strict schedule, social and personal flexibility, high motivation requirement, sticking to some military rules. – PvP : for those who want to try their skills against other humans. Unfortunately in most of public servers, 99% is Rambo lone wolf style. Communication there is void. I'd say it's a kind of last resort to avoid AI. However the missions are simple and offer a dynamic feeling that single player mode lacks. Each of these solutions have drawbacks and I think this is precisely where efforts should be made for the gameplay side. However this how me, as a consumer, see it. Real/detailed studies would be required to confirm.
  12. The creator of the mission can insert image in the .miz file to be displayed in the kneeboard. Pages can also be automatically generated by using the mission's data in any desired format (example in my signature). Current VR's resolution will force you to put your nose some inches close to your knee, not just turn your head.
  13. The MiG-21bis module is the very first third-party module. Skills have been sharpened since then by everyone else. DCS is in a chaotic transition to 2.5 version. It is a mess for everyone including ED's own content (missing textures, broken shaders, …). Some even refuse to waste time for modules correction until the 2.5 version becomes stable. M3 is still trying to stabilize its situation. Using their bugtracker seems to be the most effective method to quicken the resolution of bugs. I'm not sure about the missing/inaccurate features for years though. Have a happy summer time ;)
  14. I am very interested by the VPC Mongoose stick, and I'm excited to discover the eventual VPC's future throttle unit, then I'll consider a purchase for a combo. But seeing that VPC clearly orients its products to russian cockpit layout made me wonder if the future throttle will be versatile enough like the Mongoose grip to fit all other DCS modules as well. Without toe brakes, that is indeed not the case with those rudders. VPC should consider to offer more features than to stick to a specific design. While it is OK for WW2 simpler aircraft fanatics, I think it is not quite suited for such complex modern jets. We already have the A-10C, perhaps the most demanding about HOTAS, then we will get the F/A-18C and the F-14. There is unfortunately no soviet modern aircraft DCS-grade modules announced yet. I don't care if the product's style matches a specific aircraft, I fly in VR, and I need something neutral ergonomically fitting every aircraft.
  15. WTF is this thread ? looks like hating, russian style
  16. You can fly low and still detect them easily with radar if you fly inverted :megalol: :tomato:
  17. I have no particular issue with the MiG-21 module. However the whole sim itself seems to be more resources hungry during loadings. The stutter may be the consequence.
  18. Thanks for clarification :)
  19. What's IPD ? If the scale seems correct for every other aircraft, why should it be an issue for the F-15 and A-10 only ? Is there any proof that the HUDs are too small irl ? Or is it modeling issue specific to these aged modules ?
  20. Already been reported both in the bug section: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=190150 And the official bugtracker
  21. Try the Mods and apps subforums since this is obviously not a MiG-21 related issue. You'll get in touch with more PS users there.
  22. What's the shooting technique to get those nice reflections with the sun burning behind the object ?
  23. The default viewpoint is too forward. I'm sure that the FOV is correct though. I have to find a compromise between a credible head position against the headrest and the HUD which displays graphics too widely to fit in the screen (a common issue with the FC3 US planes) Set you position with Rshift+Rctrl+ numpad keys (including / and *) then set this position as default (snapview) with Ralt+numpad 0.
