  1. Start multiplayer now on the aerobatics online server!
  2. I used a mouse for decades. You can take my mouse from my cold dead hands. Hand controllers are an abomination for flight simulators. Just tracking the bare hands for buttons switching is the way to go. With the inbuild tracking cameras no problem. I would even wear a thin colored glove in the first year if necessary ;-) But I would never play with an airstick. I want to feel my Gunfighter :-)
  3. You plan to live on for 10 years? What if you die before? Than you lost a lot of money ;-)
  4. You dont use vr controllers when you use DCS in VR. Just Stick and mouse.
  5. 3600x is 15% faster single core than 2700x and the better alternative if you are on budget.
  6. Sure you are at 100% rendering at the General Tab AND in PER-APPLICATION VIDEO SETTINGS. (Second only visible in SteamVR while running DCS.) (25% CPU in task manager equals 100% on one core if your CPU has got 4 cores.)
  7. everything low or off except: Textures High Terrain Textures High Visib Range Medium Shadows High Res. of Cockpit Displays 1024 Clutter/Grass 0 Trees 41% Preload 100000 Anistropic 16 SteamVR 100% Rendering PD 1.0 With these settings I have 60 FPS 95% with dips to 55 FPS over dense building areas in rare cases. I am using options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = true in my autoexec.cfg but I get about the same performance without it. (Flying single player missions I turn usually clouds off because of rendering issues in VR. Multiplayer I live with the errors.) So I do not sense a RECENT drop in VR FPS on my 3600x & 1080Ti& HP Reverb.
  8. 25% CPU usage or 25% CPU CORE usage?
  9. You can not simulate the performance of different HMD by adjusting PD very well. (Experience with my Rift and my HP Reverb.)
  10. I did not try out the Yak-52 during any of the free testing times. But after playing around with GA planes in another 2D flight simulator during the last few days I felt the urge for a GA like plane in DCS and VR. I really love how the plane handles and feels in VR. I love exploring the environment around the airports in the caucasus and the syria maps. This adds a totally different experience to DCS. Thanks to the developers for the great model and the detailed manual!
  11. Why do we see low fps in multiplayer fps, low fps on the ground and low fps in complex missions. Bound by GPU? You will see unbelievable VR fps while looking at the empty sky for sure. Perhaps AI and multiplayer code will run on the tensor cores? I wait for the reviews.
  12. Check the M2 ports. Probably different specs and it makes a lot of a difference. In that other new sim 3 minutes instead of 4 minutes loading time.
  13. Prohibitive cost. I will wait for reviews in any case. I think a faster CPU is much more important. My 1080Ti drives my G1 in singleplayer or in the air with supersampling. Very flyable. For the low multiplayer FPS and complex mission low FPS a 3090 will do nothing. Perhaps I go with a 3080 and upgrade CPU when available.
  14. A reverb G1 does not look like a dirty windshield, this is bullsh... I really like the upcoming G2. But in the end it is a HMD with the same resolution like the G1. People with nonstandard eye distance will now be able to use a reverb, fine. It is a nice headset, but not the ultimate answer to all VR desires. Let us not forget this. The reviewer has very early access to a preproduction unit and describes it with great enthusiasm. I understand HP did address a lot of minor issues as well. This is always welcome. I patiently will compare the available HMDs when the time has come :-)
  15. The ASUS MB shure does its job, but do you really want to spend more than twice the money? And the expensive shiny motherboards does not really provide any real world advantage. If you need a feature that is only available on such a board? But which feature would that be?
  16. There is currently no upgrade to a Reverb available ;-)
  17. case is nice 3800x is not faster than 3600x in DCS (save 100 bucks) stock cooler 3600x does it job perfectly well (save even more)' Asrock B450 Pro instead the overblown fake board (saves 150 bucks) Memory 16GB 3200, if you insist on 32 GB (not needed) 3200 at least is really important or you loose a lot of performance Use the saved money to get a faster GPU now and sell it later PowerSupply, replace overblown fake PS with a decent PS and save a little bit more Why not intel if DCS is your main use case?
  18. Welcher Mura Effekt?
  19. I had good success reducing microstutters with SMT (Hyperthreading) off on my Ryzen (I am quite sensible to microstutters in racing and flying simulators). But I do not know if this could help with these probably track ir related stutters. I just think you can give SMT off a try anyway.
  20. HP Reverb numbers limited somewhere to 45 FPS? Sure, turn off shadows to unlock 60 FPS ;-)
  21. Could be related to VRAM. I never get crashes in MP with 16 GB RAM and 100% rendering even on very high settings. When I use absurd supersampling (for testing) I get crashes in MP after some time. I connected this to VRAM overflow on my 11GB VRAM 1080Ti by observation.
  22. I would like to see a through the lense comparision of the Reverb G1 versus G2 by MRTV By the way on both of my Reverb G1 headsets I was/I am not able to detect any mura (uneven lighting of the display). Perhaps it is me, but I have also seen messages that it differs from Reverb to Reverb.
