  1. You can use SteamVR without Steam running
  2. Not being able to catch an arresting wire. Do not know if buying the module helps with this one.
  3. What is your pixel density setting in DCS?
  4. I had problems in the past when steam was heavy downloading in the background. Do not know what solved my problem. I had high cpu load during steam downloads.
  5. When I get water render errors and I restart DCS the render errors are gone. Perhaps this helps solving this problem.
  6. I just raise my upper body and recenter. Seat is lower.
  7. I appreciate the GR videos a lot. Every new content is valuable. If there is something lacking, we all can still learn to improve.
  8. I have no problems with my HP Reverb in general. But when I had it working and i noticed 3 crashes in a row when entering a multiplayer server i could pinpoint the cause to my excessive qualtiy settings (400% Supersampling). I was out of GPU memory. After reducing no more crashes. I use fpsVR app to monitor GPU/CPU performance and memory to finetune my experience. I recommend this app a lot.
  9. Right now I am running 0.8 PD in DCS and 150% (advanced) Supersampling in SteamVR with low settings and no Antialiasing most of the time. With these low fidelity settings I enjoy better FPS. (If I want good looks in single player I go with 0.8 PD and 300% Supersampling. But with these settings you get low FPS in multiplayer and complex missions.) VR needs some time to get adjusted to. 30 minutes in the beginning is ok. Nowadays I enjoy multiple hours without any discomfort.
  10. No I have reappearing and missing icons as well. Seems to be related how the HMD is attached to the monitor by windows (perhaps the the icons are just offscreen when the HMD is on) Try sorting the icons with right mouse click.
  11. Are you running the Reverb at 90hz or 60hz? 60hz are bugged right now (distortion bug could lead to eye discomfort, next windows release fixes this)
  12. bios update necessary, did you update already once on your new motherboard? but like I said also check for background processes, for example steam downloading in the background, the fast ssd transferrates put a lot of stress on the hardware
  13. To answer my question myself. The TPR toe brakes operate smooth, feel is ok.
  14. Next I would also try starting from the lowest setttings and increase stepwise. I would also try looking for background processes in task manager.
  15. turn off hyperthreading and post your results
  16. Gebrauchten Autositz und ein Vierkantholz aus dem Baumarkt.
  17. I am a happy Gladiator MK2 owner. Every Mk2 offer with a Plane specific grip (F16, F18, ...) would be an instant buy. I do not like my Thrustmaster Cougar (faulty Potentiometers, too stiff ...) but I love my Gladiator MK2 and with the shift button it is a quite nice jet stick as well. But a F16 Gladiator would be awesome :-)
  18. I drive 400% supersampling & 0.8 PD with the 1080Ti, a 3600X and the reverb (4408x4320x2 Pixels) 40 to 50 FPS singleplayer, 30 FPS multiplayer, I played at 15 FPS microprose F1 simulator when i was younger ;-) I want a clear look on my cockpit displays when I am using the weapons systems. When I fly aerobatics or just for fun I lower the supersampling and get 60 FPS in singleplayer. The 400% supersampling are the perfect balance for my CPU in multiplayer. With a 3080Ti I could push the supersampling even further. For an increase of the low FPS in multiplayer I would need a MUCH stronger CPU (not available in the near future) or the DCS engine needs to use better multicore CPUs. Perhaps Vulcan will help with the CPU issue.
  19. Hp Reverb is my headset ;-) I would recommend it for the microphone ;-) Cans are made by Beyerdynamic. Also recommended.
  20. F-16 is about sustained turn rate. http://www.f-16.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10416
  21. I am using a Reverb & 1080Ti. Because of the high resolution of the HMD a 0.8 PD/300 SS combination is a nice setup. (with 1.0 PD I go for 200% Supersampling) Your 2080TI can probably drive the O+ with higher PD and/or Supersampling.
  22. I settle for less than 60 FPS because I can not achieve it at good settings in multiplayer or complex missions. I use 0.8 PD / 300% SteamVR Supersampling for these use cases. Flying Solo or simple missions I opt for someting like 0.8 PD / 170% SS to achieve 60 FPS. The rest worked out of the box. I had to check the manual choose HMD / display entry option (not sure how it is called in english OS. This was the only adjustment necessary for my system.
  23. Lacking because in the conclusion only the combination CPU & GPU is mentioned. But other factors like HMD are very important too because of the different render resolution. :-) Thanks anyway for the valuable collection of the data.
  24. Finally in the Windows Insider Build 19624 (fast ring) the 60hz distortion bug in Windows Mixed Reality is fixed! (Fish eye effect in 60hz mode forced many users to use 90hz mode only. Constant 60hz feels much smoother than 90hz mode with variable FPS.) This is great news, because with correct settings 60FPS are achievable in VR with current hardware. Very smooth experience!
  25. Windows Insider Build 19624 (fast ring) fixes the 60hz WMR distortion bug. I go one step further and use 0.6 PD / 300% with the new mode to maintain 60 FPS in every situation. Very good experience, just do not put your textures on low, use high or medium textures and the cockpit markings are still perfectly readable.
