Ever wanted more (accurate) blips and bloops in your favourite aircraft? We'll you're in luck my friend. I present my "More accurate Apparat 27" ("MA-APP27" for short) mod. This is my attempt to get more accurate RWR sounds in the Viggen. My goal with this was to get more, and more accurate sounds and sound durations based on each radars actual scan speed and PRF. Each radar I've added/ changed has been researched, unfortunately a lot of them are still classified or just impossible to find the needed data on. In cases where I could not find any data I copied data from a similar radar and and changed it slightly. Sometimes I just did something that felt "right", but tried to stay as close to reality as possible with my very limited radar knowledge. The mod currently have: 8 EWR 29 SAM's 19 ships 34 aircraft 4 AWACS 8 active A-A missiles It also corrects the RWR antenna FOV to be 60deg. The mod does pass IC. DOWNLOAD HERE - v4.9 CombatFlite ELINT library Audio library A "short" video I put together for you to get a sense of the mod. Change log: V4.9: Added new SA10 units (Flap Lid and Tin Shield), and also C-RAM V4.8: Added F-15E. Changed a bunch of signals for units for better accuracy. Added high-pass filter for PRF. V4.7: Fix for SA-10 radar giving constant CW warning, a bunch of other changes (already added to base module) V4.6: Added two new "ambulance" tones - CW and high PRF warning V4.5: Added SON-9 and Mirage F1 V4.4: Added ships the SA asset pack V4.3: Corrected RWR antenna FOV V4.2: Added AN/FPS-117 V4.1: Signal changes to some aircraft and SAMs. CW signal on most SAMs and aircraft for lock V4.0: Added SA-5 TR "Square Pair" V3.2: 11 radar sounds changed, 4 silenced V3.1: Added AIM-54, fixed 19J6, added NASAMS V3: 30 new radars modelled. Read post below for details V2.1: Small fix to the Flanker and Fulcrum V2: New "ambulance tone" V1: Release

Integrity Check Red: "mods/aircraft/ajs37/bin/ajs37.dll"
MYSE1234 replied to Mikkall's topic in Bugs and Problems
If the files isn't there, it sounds like there might be a problem with an antivirus program removing the file as a false positive. Try adding that folder as an exception in your antivirus software, and then repair again. -
Range gauge km/mil indicator not illuminated
MYSE1234 replied to Machalot's topic in Bugs and Problems
If you don't mind breaking IC here's a fix I made for it. Just replace the old file with this new one. "..\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Textures" The problem is that the alpha channel texture on the "MIL" indicator is too dim for whatever reason. -
Yep, that is what led me to do this. 20km from 4000m also works quite well. As long as there isn't anything to shoot them down.

2.7 Viggen Patch 14-04-2021 Feedback Thread
MYSE1234 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
IICR that was indeed the "fix". Being able to relight it again. -
Not necessarily, you can drop them at the correct distance and still have them hit. But we don't know the actual calculations for the "range calculations" in the real aircraft, or the DCS one for that matter. It could be that it wants the BK90 to be at a certain speed over the target, which I think makes sense. However that doesn't seem to be the case as the speed over target varies a lot. 193-250 m/s, for M0.7 and M0.9 @ 100m. One thing if for sure however, the release cue is much too late @ M0.9 and 100m, according to the manual. M0.7 100m looks very good however, within the margin of error I'd say. So the range might be fine, but the cue is not.
-
Shit!! It's been corrected now.
-
It's time for a new spreadsheet. This time for the release cue for the Bk90's. Do what you want with this data. Red boxes = the horizontal distance to the target @ release cue. Grey boxes = BK90 speed @ target, as TAS in m/s. Also, BK90 is impuls release only.

Just got a 100% reproducible game crash when having 99 or more files/cartridges in the "...\DCS_AJS37" folder. To reproduce, fill you folder with 99 or more cartridges, when you go to jump in to the pit, the game will crash.

Presets for airports with multiple parallel runways
MYSE1234 replied to Machalot's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Yep. Most likely. -

Indeed, so it would seem. -

Well nothing really. There is nothing strange going on. It doesn't matter what airbase/runway you have in set as LS. The nav system is dead accurate whatever you set it to, even with TERNAV off, as in the video. I have a few waypoints set in the video, and have no trouble getting there accurately. There is 0 drift or whatever you might call it. -

I did a quick test mission where I spawn at Al Dhafra, RWY 31R. However, instead of using the airfield ID code that should be used for Al Dhafra (9004), I punched in 9011 (Lar that is 400km away). I also turned off TERNAV for a worst case scenario. As you can see, it really doesn't matter what you have as LS. Only thing is that you will get the "NAV SYS" error. -

The only way I know of would be to check the coordinates of "LS" with "REF LOLA". Otherwise "TERNAV" and some DCS magic will have your back, and make sure that you end up where you want to. -
Just had this happen again,I flew through my wingman's wake turbulence that shook the aircraft quite violently. It was about 0,5° above the horizon and 2-3° tilted to the right after the event.
-
I agree, I've also had this happen a fair bit since the last patch, where they changed the gyros in some way. Sometimes it happens just after a few minutes of flying which is silly. I have had the FPV be above the horizon while flying straight in HÖJD autopilot multiple times. I'm not sure what causes it to happen, but it's very annoying. You also get nav drift quicker now too, thanks to the new gyros.
-
To be fair, didn't they say pretty much the same thing a year or so ago. And the year before that..
-
The throttle does have movement inside the zones, but it's, as you noticed, not very much. But it's there and somewhat useful sometimes i find, although not often as the movement is so small.
-
Iirc this was indeed corrected some time ago. It's working as intended now anyway.

Snabbresning and other unkown buttons on my radar
MYSE1234 replied to QuiGon's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Not strictly, but you will get a much better alignment, obviously. But if it's very misaligned you can do it In the air, but you should fly as straight and level as possible, with as little deviation from 1g as possible. -
Snabbresning and other unkown buttons on my radar
MYSE1234 replied to QuiGon's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Yeah, it's best done on the ground. The nav system stops working when aligning (as it looses all gyro inputs), which will cause some problems as you've noticed. No idea if that's how it's meant to work, will have to look through the manual a bit. -

MYSE1234 replied to QuiGon's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Snabbresning is indeed used to realign the ADI (FLI37). I've been using it a lot since the last patch, it gets unaligned very easily now with the new changes. -

MYSE1234 replied to QuiGon's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Did you try pressing the keybind a few times? It takes a few presses for it to start having an effect. -
It would make sense that it should move around inside the zones. If it shouldn't do it, what would be the reason to have it graduated with the thick lines for each zone, when in that case you might as well just use a lamp for each zone. Like for the throttle position, just to keep it as simple as it needs to be.
