@IronMike Another radar related feature that is missing, seemingly intentionally, is the wind compensated "forward line" when using the Rb04. Do you know why it was not implemented, and would it be possible to get it on the list of things to add? From one of the files from the AJS module: "Rb04 also show vertical line (which is wind compensated but we are not going to do that) and the min max lines should also be displayed".
-
Yeah, much sharper indeed. It probably helps not having to worry about performance issues, there's probably a few more samples taken by the real radar than the one in-game.
-
Might be out of the scope for this update, but getting some of the effects on the CRT display in this video would be awesome. And somewhat annoying at time I'm sure, but more immersive.
-
Just did some tests at low speed and calculated the thrust to be about 13,9kN, so pretty close to the 14,3kN from the manual. And there are probably some losses that I'm not compensating for, so I'd say it's accurate as is.
-
I remember reading that it has a relatively high thrust output at flight idle, but if what we have in DCS is accurate or not I do not know. Flight idle should be about 14,3kN according to "SFI FPL AJS37, Del 1".
-
There is a push-through detent between ground and flight idle, and the thrust increase is linear from ground idle to max dry. The upside down "T" are "physical" detents where you have to lift or push the throttle. The triangles are push through detents

Haven't updated it since last year when it was "fixed", but I am using all of the data in a fuel planner and that is still very accurate. So I'm certain it's still bugged, and the charts should still be accurate.

Looks like there are a few ships in front of the aircraft, which would be visible on the radar. Wouldn't be much of a contour though, more just a small dot. Especially with the radar in the 120km mode.

Yes, it's just a sound mod for the RWR. HB reached out to me before I did to them, so it should be implemented at some point in the future. But while we wait for that to get done I'll maintain this mod.
-
Hi, My mod for the Viggen RWR is being "blocked" by IC after today's patch. In my mind it's not really able to be exploitable, but adds more and more realistic sounds to the otherwise very inaccurate RWR that is in there by default.

More accurate Apparat 27 - AJS37 RWR mod
MYSE1234 replied to MYSE1234's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Thanks for posting that thread! I'll definitely do so. -
@Cobra847 @RagnarDa @IronMike This mod does no longer pass IC since todays OB patch, is this intended or did it accidentally get applied to it? I would like to be able to use this mod again. Thanks, MYSE

More accurate Apparat 27 - AJS37 RWR mod
MYSE1234 replied to MYSE1234's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Version 4.0 NOTE: This mod now breaks IC Added SA-5 "Square Pair" illumination radar Search - 500Hz, on 0,1 and off 0,2 seconds Track - ambulance tone Added angle limitations to illumination radars to reduce the chance of getting a stray lock tone. It works to some extent but it's unfortunately not perfect for whatever reason -
Main altimeter versus standby altimeter ... WOW!

Just remembered this for earlier this year. So I guess it works differently now, from what it did a few months ago? -
Main altimeter versus standby altimeter ... WOW!
MYSE1234 replied to TOViper's topic in Bugs and Problems
The backup system does not compensate for compressibility, and will therefore show a different altitude compared to the main system. Not sure how accurate the error of 1500m is however, but it should be there. -
Question regarding the range marks on the radar scope ...
MYSE1234 replied to TOViper's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Pretty sure that should be black/grey. There are a few illustrations with them dark and the horizon line and all that white. All things dark is drawn by the radar (electron)gun, so while it draws the radar returns, it also does the distance and angle lines. -
Right here. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/281497-airfield-reference-codes/?tab=comments#comment-4768984

Here is a list of all the airfield currently on all the maps, together with their respective reference number. This is the work of @Wali, who said I could post it for him on here. Thank you for taking the time to get it all compiled into this nice list. For the rest of you, I hope you find it useful. Enjoy!

"9043" But not sure it actually does anything, haven't tried it. Works fine for me.
-
They're not working in that the brakes won't actually break the aircraft when manually setting the parking brake. They work fine when you first spawn in, but after that they are non-functional. The animation works fine, It's just the braking bit that could do with some fixing.

I tried it, but the material on the that model is not set up to be self-illuminating unfortunately. So we'll have to wait for HB to get that fixed. The texture file for it is in the pack, so all they have to do really is to change the material to self-illuminating.

That's what I was thinking too, but from my testing I see nothing pointing to that in DCS, it might be the case irl.

Why not both? I know for a fact that the release cue is not shown at the (assumed correct) distance shown in a diagram in one of the manuals, but only at high speeds. We've got two diagrams showing the release envelope at: "100m and mach 0.9", the max range shown there is 7km, directly in front "100m and mach 0.7", there the max range in front is 3,2km, +-50 or so The cue I got when testing this some time ago at "100m and mach 0.9" was at 5,1km, so about 73% of what it should be, according to the manual. The slower mach 0.7 is very accurate to what is shown in the manual, with a distance of 3,16km. Well within the margin of error. To have the cue at the correct mach 0.9 distance is impossible, from my testing. NOTE: I only tested up to 550m, so it might be possible to get the 0.9 cue accurate at higher up, but from 450-550m it's a constant distance of 6,6km. Image below is probably ONLY, accurate in distance directly in front of the aircraft. I did not test drops to the side, as that should have take too much time to do.
