I'd like to know what exactly an OFAB-100 Jupiter bomb is. Is that a parachute delivered bomb? I can hunt up all kind of references to OFAB-100, but nothing specifying what the "Jupiter" part of that refers to.

L-39ZA Gs-23L Cannon - What am I doing wrong?

I read that in your first post and just thought it was a typo or something. I remember thinking, "surely he means flip the switch 'down', right" -
Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway
doodenkoff replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Once you buy the module, you use your profile view on the DCS site to look up the serial numbers. There is a box in the lower left to do a "license check". In the resulting window, there is an option to "bind" the serial to a different DCS World account name. Bind it, and send them the key. -
Thanks, that helps tremendously.

Yeah, I know. I was trying for sneaky and/or lucky. Maybe try much lower altitude next time and use terrain features to mask my signature. I prefer to join the underdog and see if I can contribute.

I'm new to the multiplayer DCS. I very much like the performance of your server. I tried to sneak in to the opposition's area the other evening....I was not successful, an AIM120 flew up my fundament and ended my foray. So I looked for a safer target since I was flying an L-39ZA. What is the actual objective at Sagarejo Spy Hideout, inside the red protected zone". The smoke markers? Or am I missing some parameter that identifies the actual structure?

The L-39 is a hoot to fly. And hitting the sweet spot and dropping 2 500lb'ers on the target is great.

Looks like a job for the Angry Albatros!

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5

Very nice. Finally something I can use to be useful. -
I haven't even sat in the cockpit yet. Working on P-51 skills. I'm mostly glad to have moved the Black Shark to someone more appreciative. I discovered I really don't enjoy rotary wing craft.

I just started flying the Mustang and I'm horrible at it....but I'll join the underdog side when I get a chance.

Yeah, that's the nature of gaming nowadays....people will side with what they perceive as the stronger force.

Mustang First Take-Off and Landing: Post your Tracks/Vids
doodenkoff replied to 159th_Viper's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Nope. None of my P-51 track replays in 1.5 are working worth a hoot either. Every one of them end in ridiculous crashes just after take-off; completely different from the actual first run through. Works fine with other modules. It occurs to me, I should try the TF-51 and see what happens. -
Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway

The underlying "mesh" or framework remains the same. Bumps, buildings, roads, etc., all stay in place. The texture is akin to laying fabric upholstery over a sofa's bare wooden framework. -
Mustang First Take-Off and Landing: Post your Tracks/Vids
doodenkoff replied to 159th_Viper's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
I would love to collect screenshots and/or videos of my P-51 flights. Sadly, mission replays are never what actually occurred and instead usually consist of the plane trying to bore a hole directly in the soil. I was so bummed out after my first successful "go-around." I went back to watch the track in replay and gather some screen shots only to be disappointed. On the NTTR map, I did something I've been wanting to try for the longest time; under the Hoover dam bridge and quickly up and over the dam. Went back to collect screenshots but now it's only memories. -
Got my P-51D. On my second solo flight I was successful at take-off and landing. Felt pretty good. So I wanted to watch the track replay. But, I could not choose any other view but cockpit. I really wanted some good external views for screen shots. To top it off, instead of watching a take-off, circle, and landing, I watched the plane pitch almost straight up, nose over, and dig a hole into some farmer's field. How does a replay get so botched up?

Wanna swap the MiG-21 for Black Shark 2?

Thanks to the community input in this thread, I'm getting more and more comfortable landing an F-15.

Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway

If installation is automated through the module manager, I'll buy it. Compared to the "unzip this", and "copy/paste here", and oh, don't forget to "edit these files", and make sure this is this way and whatever, it sure will be easier, faster, and presumably supported by ED. -
Destruction of airframe due to high Gs or even speed
doodenkoff replied to JazonXD's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Uh, that's pretty much the strongest motivation of most multiplayer servers. It's why aimbots, wallhacks, and other cheats rule so many FSPs. It isn't about having some fun, it's all about the WINNING and having the largest epeen. Many, many players will find any possible cheat or exploit and use it without guilt. It's also why I don't participate in them for the most part. -
Create a mission with an air start and have some fun.

Have you looked into an instance of Amazon's or Microsoft's cloud computing?

I had a sister-in-law stationed at Spangdahlem late 80s early 90s. I loved visiting and watching air traffic.
